I just want to say I'm a new subscriber and this helped me with my 2005 saturn relay I bought everything in your video you are truly the best educator for beginners who just want to learn how to do minor car repairs. I have to say this to, I love how you did the step by step details on what tools and products you where using, this video is a true life saver.
Great video, thanks so much for taking the time to created this video. Same process for a 2008 Uplander with the 3.9l. Only difference is the bolt pattern of the pump are more offset and easy to figure out how to mount.
So the uplander was just the shittiest van that chey ever came out with... Rplaced the water pump and the plastic gaskets on the head busted and are now leaking. Bought it from a used car dealer less than a month ago and he wont answer any phone calls from anyone we know
The stamped steel impeller water pump that you removed is supposed to be the new improved impeller high flow pump. The new pump that you installed had the old cast iron impeller.
to whom it concerns YOU HAVE TO USE A COOLANT BURP KIT to get it to stop overheating also! have someone reb up the motor to get the flow pushing water through the system and get the hose area that sets above its own bleed screw its stupid what chevy did harbor freight $30
I have a 2006 uplander just want to comment on the ignition part mine wouldnt turn etheir and i thought it was the ignition but it was the key worn out went to buy a new key for it and it never lock up on me again saved lots of money $$$
D Moore yes aviation sealer works also. When you use the red tack, you have to coat the gasket both sides and let it sit for a couple of minutes before you install on the part. Thank you for the comment and please subscribe.
06 uplander 3.5 they changed the thermostat water pump radiator cap and Center when sitting there don't overheat but as soon as you take off driving 2 minutes to 3 minutes it starts needle starts going up to overheat what do you think it could
My 07 3.9 uplander overheats. I changed the thermostat and coolant, and still overheats. Do you think the water pump is the problem? it doesn't leak or makes a noise . that's why I didn't think that could be it *Fans kick in when engine hot. *Coolant is boiling hot out of the radiator bleeder, don't know if it's normal. Don't remember feeling coolant that hot. I got burned. Thank you for your video!
I have changed the thermostat check all the hoses and the water pump is working do you know another reason why a car would be overheating that the 2005 2006 Chevy Uplander?
Ok, make sure to bleed out all the air from system. I think it’s next to water pump. A small brass screw, it small and fragile. Let it heat up and slowly open the bleeder screw to let the air out.
@@fixersautomotive4514 i think they have the mitsubishi transmission for both chevrolet equinox, saturn vue, and pontiac torrent, simple fix, you can't replace the filter tho just the fluid as this is a seal transmission (do not flush, just change the fluid)
Thanks Bro, I'm doing this job right now. My 2005 Uplander has been very good to me with close to 400,000 km. Cheers from Vancouver Island.

Thank you for the nice comment.

Any idea how to find the radiator drain on an 07 malibu? Thanks for the video!
Great job!
greatly appreciate the video just wished you didn't skip the belt removal and replacement part in the video
What’s the name of the part u used to prevent the pully from spinning ?
For some reason those uplanders like for you to pat the accelerator to start.
My Terraza (Buick's version of the Uplander) needed the same until I cleaned the throttle body.
they all have old 70s-80s' soals
Thank you. How do I remove the accessory band to be able to remove the fuel pump
Could you do a video to show how to change out the thermostat on that model.... Thanks in advance
After changing my water pump my alarm wont work any suggestions
I have to replace my crank position sensor do I know where it's located I have a 07 Uplander
I’ve used Aviation gasket sealer on water pump and other coolant applications. I tried the red high tack once and found it too runny.

Are the cooking fans working?? Turn on the A/C and the fans should turn on automatically.
@@fixersautomotive4514 yep fans work too

Similar pumps are 89 in lbs and pulls is 18 ft lbs
Ps i think this is wrong as whats stated here would better reflect. I'm thinking bolts snap at 89 in lb.
Have you had transmission problems with the Equinox?
LoneGRoEnt there have been a couple of software update for the shifting issues. There normally good transmission.

Mobile Mechanic thank you for the info👍🏼
Do you know what size bolts on pulley are? Trying to make sure I have tools I need to fix my van. Non mechanic here..
10 mm
Well I thought there was going to a bit more to it,like my Cadillac was, still looks like an equal pain in the ass though .
Thank you. How do I remove the accessory band to be able to remove the fuel pump
