Nice job with a cool little knife, I have some of his bigger brothers that you have also reviewed. Let me ask you something, have you seen the ESSE Junglas II? They've shortened the Junglas and it looks like a brilliant move. I thought I was done with carbon steel.
Say Heah Joe, I'm very happy with your suggestion on this Fox Pro Hunter. I'm very happy with mine. Last weekend I took my Fox Bushcraft Parang, All I took was my Vic. Rangergrip 78 to team up with the Bushcraft Parang, my 24" Council Pack Axe with the Heavy Duty Sheath and Sling and my Silky Bigboy2000 with the Sheath and my Kodiak Gearsling, Ww trudged through deep snow killing a Tiboggan, But now a few day's of rain, After the rain, I'm going out to harvest some fatwood and I'm taking along my Pro Hunter and my 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet and Wicked Tough Saw a Basic Trio Carry, Thanx Joe.,,.
Bush Camping Tools Thanx You. Your definitely right, I do luv it. I also teamed it with my Fox Combat Jungle Knife, A real lovely piece of kit. Infact it goes together like soup and sandwich, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Joe and His Boy.,,.
Ha LOL! I wish I had a dollar for every time someone said that! Thanks! I've been even asked by some viewers to show more cooking in the outdoors and that's exactly what I will do in the next two months. Thanks for watching!
Francis, do you know that this knife is the direct follower of the Nexus Tito, that was designed by Moletta? Moletta sold some of his designs to Fox, right before the collaboration with Lionsteel. This knife is one of the designs he sold with the Combat Jungle which is also a follow up from the Nexus Caio. Moletta could do this because Nexus was not existing anymore at this time. The Trapper is not designed by Moletta - Fox just had the right to use the design of the handle for a blade they designed by themselves. As I could learned Moletta hates combo design blades and he would never design something like the Trapper. But the FX130, the FX131 and the FX133 are designs coming directly from Nexus.
Hi there, yeah I knew about Moletta's designs at nexus/Knife Research and I once had my eye on a Caio but got a M7 instead (I preferred the more comfortable handle than the Centurion type one which was a bit blocky in those early designs of his. As you know I also have the Combat Jungle, which i really like. Thanks for writing it here anyway. Yeah the combo blade is cool but really not one to be sharpened easily without two different methods and tools/stones/rods IMHO.
Say Heah Francis, I got to hand it to you, and Thanx You for reviewing a very good knife for the Bush. Infact I teamed my Pro Hunter with my Combat Jungle Knife, a lovely piece of kit. Thanx You. I'm also very happy how the two not only compliment eachother, but how they match eachother. May I suggest something. It would be nice to see a video where matching sets were shown. Thanx You for sharing the Fox Pro Hunter.,,.p
Those two knives make the perfect pair. Yeah I'll think about that, as many hunters I know and outdoors people always carry two, in fact as a diver I was always carrying 2 LOL! But thanks for the idea!
I'm looking for a knife for camping (tinder, basic carving/wood shaping stuff, nothing special). I guess this would suit my purpose? I know there are a lot of cheaper options but this looks awesome :D
It's perfect for that sort of thing IMHO. To be honest my camping knives are my hunting knives. I use them for both gutting, skinning and sometime butchering if the carcass is too big. Plus you can whip this knife out in a camp situation and no one is going to freak out (unless everyone else is pulling out big choppers LOL!)
Say Heah Mr. Joe, Yeah, I Thanx You for sharing the Pro Hunter. I find it fits my criteria when I carry a larger smaller knife. As it is, I teamed the Pro Hunter with the Fox Combat Jungle Knife. I can add my 2Hawks Warbeast Tomahawk with my Wicked Tough Saw Combo. I can move fast through the bush and still carry my basic 5C 's. I like to use my Maxprdition Kodiak Gearsling. I threw in my Bokor Tech-Tool 4 City 2.8in for good measure since I find I use an Awl alot. I feel I have a complete set of gear to even handle a overnighter when I run out of daylight. Thanx You, Amigo.,,.
Say Heah Joe, I figured and concluded, I will team up my Fox Pro Hunter and I'll get the Fox Jungle Pro Hunter , It's a 7 1/2' blade and the two match perfectly, I think I have a nice stable of wet and snowy condition knives. I'm glad I found it, What do you think. ,, .
Say Heah M8, This beauty is starting to look like my favorite wood craft knives. One of my Fav's is my Ratmandu and when I got the INFI Steel which is very rare, Infact for that reason I got (2) one to use the other one is a virgin collectable. The SR101 is a coated blade, The INFI Steel one is a non-commercial blade, Awesomeness Simply TiT's, Beautiful and extremely one of my best wood craft survival knives and I have a few to compare Thanx for sharing, I will be checking it out because I know it will match my Fox Hitam Golok. It should be a near perfect combo.
Hey man, yeah I certainly do recommend checking out this knife, I know u will like it for sure, it's a real beauty. Thanks as always for watching and commenting.
Say Heah Joe, I pulled the trigger on the Fox Pro Hunter Fix Blade, Since I have the Hitam and now the Bushcraft Parang, I though staying in the family I would get the Pro Hunter incase I want to go Fox. ,, .
Say Heah Joe, Cheer's, There's only a few guy's that I take their recommendation 's, and your one. Thanx for sharing and recommanding this knife. As you prolly know, I like teaming combos up with my Knives. I sort of wished I thought of this knife before I pulled the trigger on my Steel Will Darkangel, I think this Fox Pro Hunter will team-up better with my Hitam Golok. But no regret's, The price on the Darkangle and the type of steel was hard not to atleast look at it. I did more, I bought it. Puh-lease do me a favor. Is Steel Will and Fox Knives have anything in comen. Both are Italian and both use the same steel. Oh, I have a couple of Steel Will knives that use Chinese Steel, But I hope the supervision is good, So far even though the steel on my Druid's is the 9Cr18Mov, which is alittle better than a 440b. I first got them for beater knives. But so far they impressed me way beyond the cost. The Druid 230 is alittle over a 9" blade and the Druid 240 is just shy of 5". Their both. .20" thick. I like scouting new area's out, and with Spring just around the corner, Yeah, I got the set to sort of clear my way through the new brambles. I've been using my BK-4, and my Case Jungle Machete Knife, The Case in wet conditions and the BK-4 as one of my large knives that I teamed up with my BK-2, a really nice combo, Their inexpensive compared to some of my over the great pond knives. But what's your take of teaming my new Fox Pro Hunter teamed up with my Fox Hitam Golok, I also have a Cold Steel Master Hunter in 3V I'm thinking of sometimes using it with my Fox Bushcraft Parang. I guess I can prolly team that one with my Pro Hunter too. But for the $$$ the Master Hunter is a good buy. I guess I'm set and ready fir Spring. I could alway's team up my 3V Master Hunter with my Woodsman Pal Premium Machete. Yeah, It's a decent Bushwhacker. I live on a Flat State, But alot of brambles, and I love it. Just to share my Fav. Long knife, My Rucki is my Fav. but to give it a rest, my Johnson Adventure Parangatang does it. anyhow, Puh-lease lemme know. OK. ,, .
I reckon the Fox Pro hunter for all the basic camp/hunting and fishing stuff and if u live with lost of scrub and the Hitam Golok works, go for it. BTW thanks for you initial comment re the recommendations. I work pretty hard to do a lot of research to bring you guys and gals some interesting but hopefully functional blades that should suit a range of peoples activities. That's one reason i don't try and do axes/hatchets (despite growing up with them), as I never continued this trend and just don't feel i have any experience here to offer. Once again much appreciated your comments and thanks alway for watching.
Bush Camping Tools Thanx the same Joe. But now I'll have a nice stable of Fox Knives to play with in my playpen, I even like my binkie, Right now It's a 90 Noveta Torpedo, It's pretty good (Cigar) But now I have the Hitam Golok, the Fox Bushcraft Parang and soon to have the Fox Pro Hunter Fix Blade with the Fox Jungle Combat to match. I think for what I do, The Fox Stable will suit me fine. ,, .
Say Heah Joe, Well if you do a video on an axe. Check out the Council 24" Wood Craft Pack Axe. It's made out of the 5160 Carbon Steel, It has a Velvet Cut Axe Head to fine tune a nice weight to it, about 2lbs. It's a bit heavier than my G. B. Small Forest Axe which I can carry it in a axe holster made by one of our UA-camrs (Eugene), But the Council I bought the Heavy Duty Sheath with the Sling so I sort of Baldric Carry it and very comfortably. But for what I do especially in the winter, It just a natural to process my firewood, It's a born chopper. ,, .
say Heah Playboy, Joey, I just pulled the trigger on the Fox Trapper, It's a 6 1/2" blade, So now I'll have the Fox Hitam Golok, The Fox Bushcraft Parang, The Fox Trapper Fix Blade, and The Fox Pro Hunter. The Golok is around a 9" blade the Jungle Combat is a 7 1/2" blade and the Fox Pro Hunter is around a 4" blade. A pretty nice size dispersement, Don't you think ?, I was going to team up my Hitam Golok with a Steel Will Darkangel, It's a nice knife, Made in Italy same steel and all, But between these four Fox Knives, I should be able to make a similar set like I intended with my Darkangel. ,, .
Say Heah Joe, I fine tuned my Fox Stable. 1. Fox Hitam Golok 2. Fox Bushcraft Parang 3. Fox Jungle Combat 4. Fox Trapper 5 Fox Trakker Sniper 6 Fox Pro Hunter
Say Heah Guy's, Owners of the Fox Pro Hunter. Yeah, I just got a Dangler Extension Caribiner for my Pro Hunter Sheath. It's a #3 Black from BladeHQ.,,. p
Say Heah Francis, What I like about Fox, They make knives you could match combo's. Like my Fox Pro Hunter and my Fox Combat Jungle Knife. I know some L@@K TactiKewl, But I always said this. A properly designed Military Knife will Excell in the Bush. Did I tell you what my Dad once told me. "Once a King, Always a King, Once a Knight, That's enough" , heh heh heh. Oh, What's the difference between Fish and Meat. Well if you beat your Fish, It will die, heh heh heh.,,. p
You know I truly believe what you say about military knives can excel in the bush (of course if properly designed in the first place and I think FKMD knives are). Yes I reckon Fox think hard about the pairing of knives in their models. I never just take one knife out it's usually a fixed blade and a reliable small folder (of course region dependent).
These FX series knives are excellent!!!
Nice job with a cool little knife, I have some of his bigger brothers that you have also reviewed. Let me ask you something, have you seen the ESSE Junglas II? They've shortened the Junglas and it looks like a brilliant move. I thought I was done with carbon steel.
Hi, yeah I know it. Not sure why I don't own one, probably because I've moved away mostly from carbon steel knives although saying that..... LOL!
Say Heah Joe, I'm very happy with your suggestion on this Fox Pro Hunter. I'm very happy with mine. Last weekend I took my Fox Bushcraft Parang, All I took was my Vic. I told u u would love it!

Say Heah Joe, I think it's called the Fox Jungle Combat, It look's like a nice match to this Fox Pro Hunter . ,, .
Now that's a knoif!!!!!
LOL! Thanks for watching!
Say Heah Guy's, Owners of the Fox Pro Hunter. Yeah, I just got a Dangler Extension Caribiner for my Pro Hunter Sheath. It's a #3 Black from BladeHQ.,,. p
Thanks Paulie for letting everyone know. It will make the knife ride better.
Bush Camping Tools True That. It really does., Francis.,,. p
Say Heah Francis, What I like about Fox, They make knives you could match combo's. Like my Fox Pro Hunter and my Fox Combat Jungle Knife. I know some L@@K TactiKewl, But I always said this.
