More often than not, audience members are eager to stay out of the spotlight. But, as Kristin Chenoweth remembers from her run as Glinda in ''Wicked'', there wasn't any other choice. When parts of the show's lighting system malfunctioned, it gave a certain section of the crowd in the Gershwin Theatre an unexpected starring role in this now-classic musical. As Chenoweth remembered during a rehearsal of her new concert ''My Love Letter to Broadway'', all she could do was sit back and laugh.

Why does everything go wrong with wicked? I mean, Idina broke a rib, the lights thing Kristin just talked about, I think one of the women who played Elphie (i think Kerry Ellis) got her arm or leg caught in something that could have torn it off during "Defying Gravity" once the bed wouldn't come down during "Popular", one time the platform didn't go up at all during "Defying Gravity", a lot of the Elphie's end up with vocal damage, is this show cursed? xD

right after "for Good" she goes behind a curtain and "melts" (goes down on a trap door) but there was a new person controlling the trap door that night and she brought it down too early so Idina basically umped into a 5 foot hole unintentionally

Yes - which is because that little ending is a sort of vaudeville tag used on the end of many funny songs or skits.
