    What are your Unpopular Opinions?

    My answers for the tag:
    1) This answer is tough because I rarely if ever try to read/listen to things that I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy. I guess the closest I could come would be either writers that I just haven’t gotten to yet which would be Stephen King, writers who I’m positive I won’t like because of Double Standard Hypocrisy like Laurell K. Hamilton, and writers who focus on things that I don’t particularly resonate with or agree with in Sarah J. Mass
    2) Oh this one is so easy lol it’s that Dresden Adaptation lol. I love Paul Blackthorne but that was so bad and had such a case of I’m Better Than The Original Author Syndrome lol
    3) Here’s another one that’s tough for me since I’m a pretty straightforward guy and most things I like I think other people pretty much get the same things I do out of it
    4) Once again easy and once again Dresden lol
    5) I don’t think it’s a Series for me as much as the entire sub-genre of Grimdark lol. Why on Earth would you want to read a story where you get invested in the characters while KNOWING no semblance of a positive or happy ending is coming for them? That doesn’t make sense to me.
    6) First one that came to mind for me is Jasnah Kholin from Stormlight. Frankly other than the one scene in Oathbringer where she hugs Renarin she’s just come off as a power-hungry high-functioning sociopath. Maybe we will get some crazy flashback in the Back 5 Jasnah book that will make me change my mind but I hear quite a bit of people, especially women, who say that Jasnah is their Favorite Characterand I just don’t get it
    7) I’m like you in that I want Adaptations for the things I like it’s just that I want PROPER Adaptations. Proper Cosmere, Dresden, and Lorien Legacies (though the I Am Number Four movie was actually better than it had any right to be) would be a good start. Live Action One Piece has shown the way and Hollywood just needs to follow it. Though with how badly they screwed up the Star Wars sequels when all they had to do was take the easy lay-up that is 1 to 1 adapting the EU books doesn’t fill me with confidence
    8) Totally agree with WoT here even though I choose never to read it that’s only on principle. I’m sure if I chose to read it at some point it would fine nothing great nothing awful…

Wow lots of unpopular stuff here lol. I also kind of wish Witcher hadn’t been adapted. I’m kind of meh on Malazan so far too.

Yeah it's such a shame about The Witcher could have been one of the best shows

Clive Barker is brilliant and underrated.
ASOIAF and Kingkiller Chronicle will probably never be finished and I couldn't care less at this point.
Grimdark (and it's effect on Fantasy as a whole) needs to die.
Scott Lynch had ONE good book, everything since is just flogging a dead horse. Sabetha, in particular, was just a cruel punishment inflicted on readers.
Agreed. Malazan is overrated, and people need to stop trying to make Malazan happen
'Sanderson isn’t actually good' is something wheeled out by people who think they’re edgy as all heck and fighting the good fight for literary excellence. They're wrong.

I can't argue with a single point... Maybe grimdark. I think in 5 years it's effects will level out.

@@J.R.Carrel Yeah. My vendetta against Grimdark is more of a 'me' thing. It's less the genre itself as it is writers generalizing it as "fantasy where everyone is miserable and nothing good happens" and writing it anyway because they think it's what sells nowadays.

Don't like Hobb. Not in love with Darrow. Not a fan of Tolkien. I think ASoIaF is highly overrated (though I like other things Martin has written).

@@J.R.Carrel It's nowhere near as good as Malazan, that's for sure.

Indeed. Hobb's work depresses me more than any Grimdark book has ever managed, and GRRM was better as a sci-fi writer.
We'll have to agree to disagree on Darrow and Tolkien, though.
