Great video - had the chance to enjoy these ferries myself last year. This is public transport at its best.
Note the counter to tell you, when the ferry is leaving.

I don't really like Amsterdam (too busy) but I love the system of the ferries. So efficient!

Music was so good for this video. Are the ferries free or do you pay a conductor?

As a dutch person it surprised me that ferries in Amsterdam are free. In other parts of the country they charge for it.

The ferries are cool. This line goes in rush hour every 4 minutes and it's packed mainly with cyclists. The place where they arrive at central station is now a huge shared space (not like in the video) where tens of thousands pedestrians and cyclists every day cross each other and it works very well! Love it!

Amsterdam's ferries are completely free for pedestrians and cyclists. On the outskirts of the city you can find some ferries that also take cars and motorcycles, and those charge for cars and motorcycles but again take pedestrians and cyclists for free.

Greta video, too many scooter though, hope you don't turn out like China and end up with cars jamming traffic all the time and smog :) Why not electrical bikes then?

an electric bike is very expensive, if you want a good one, you need to pay atleast 1000€ here. a scooter is sometimes cheaper, and it has more appeal, electric bikes are also more vunerable for stealing.

I get your point yet you still have to spend money on fuel :p

+Luigi Mario Electric bikes are becoming a lot more popular! I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years the amount of scooters will have greatly declined because of the rise of electric bikes. Mind you, for some people a scooter is a status symbol just like a car! Those people are not likely to give it up any time soon.

biggest problem are the 2 stroke scooters, they create 5x a modern cars pollution. when they pass you on the cycle lane you have to hold your nose because its so stinky. on a busy traffic light with 3+ mopeds its really a pain to cycle behind. from my experience 4 stroke scooters dont stink, and arent as noisy. maybe banning 2 stroke scooter is a step forward :p

As I understand it they will be banned within the coming years.

Why are some people dismounting and walking? why dont they keep riding on to the ferry? They are taking up more space than needed

Bit late to reply to this, but often as a cyclist you're stuck behind other pedestrians using these ferries, and go ahead trying to cycle at the same pace as a pedestrian. It is possible but difficult to keep your balance, and for quite some people too difficult so they're essentially forced to dismount until they have the space to get going again.
