    For Question #4, can you please share why A,B both are not correct? Text from docs.snowflake.com -> "Client-side encryption provides a secure system for managing data in cloud storage. Client-side encryption means that a user encrypts stored data before loading it into Snowflake.". (docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/security-encryption.html#client-side-encryption)
    Question #5 - Answer should be True based on the docs.snowflake.com -> "At the account level, MFA requires no management. It is automatically enabled for your account and available for all your users to self-enroll. " (docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/security-mfa.html#managing-mfa-for-your-account-and-users)

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  3 роки тому +1

      in Que#4, it says storage layer and not cloud as storage system. So option A is most relevant.
      Que#5, you are right. it is enabled for self enrollment.

    • @gilou28
      @gilou28 2 роки тому +1

      @@DataEngineering Hi, The benefit of client side encryption is that data is encrypted BEFORE sending it and storing it, so the correct answer is B as it englobes both the network transport and the storage.

    MFA can only be disabled by Account Admin,as stated in the documentation.Do let me know if I'm wrong.

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  3 роки тому

      Yes, it can be but it is more like by passing and for a short period of time it can be disabled so a user can logon and access the system.

    First of all, Thanks for making the videos, these are really helpful and easy to understand.

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you for watching my video Shakshi and sharing your query.
      SnowPipe is a severless component and provided by snowflake and MFA is not possible and that's why that option is not correct.

    Answer to the 5th question should be True.
    MFA is automatically enabled for your account and available for all your users to self-enroll.

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  4 роки тому +3

      Hi Amit,
      Thanks for watching the entire video and reaching me out for clarification.
      When you say "MFA is enabled" means "Multifactor Authentication is activated for the user" and this part of the statement is not true. The 2nd part of the sentense is talks about enrollment and documentation says "Previously, users could only be enrolled in MFA by submitting a request to Snowflake Support. This is no longer required."
      and hence this statement is false.
      No enrolment is required and MFA is not activated/enabled automatically.
      I hope this clarifies your doubt.

      @@DataEngineering Hi., here is the statement from the link that you have provided as reference to Q#5.
      It says and I quote "At the account level, MFA requires no management. It is automatically enabled for an account and available for all users to self-enroll."
      So, the answer should be true, in this case.
      Thanks!

    MFA is enabled on a per-user basis; however, at this time, users are not automatically enrolled in MFA. To use MFA, users must enroll themselves.

      Hi Erikkk, Thank you for watching my video and sharing your query. I did not really understand your query, could you please elaborate more?
      MFA is enabled for all account and what does it mean that it is available for activation at user level no matter which edition you buy and it comes with no additional cost. The individual users in snowflake account can activate it for authencation via SMS or via Duo app.

      Data is encrypted both in rest and in transition. At rest , it uses AES 256 bit encryption.
