+Daniel's Game Vault the radio power circuit is separate to the clock power supply on the board, The clock power failed first yet the display kept going however with unfiltered dirty dc on it, then you here the music get slightly louder and then 50Hz line hum comes through the speaker as the radio filter cap pops and goes open. over-voltage dc eventually destroys the display driver. To really understand how it failed we need to see the circuit.
@@clementpoon120 Here's the info according to Shazam: Piano Trio In E Flat Major Op.100: I Allegro Seems like the instruments are similar to match and it's an album from 2009.

Impressive how long the radio kept playing with half the power supply blown up :) What sort of voltage was it up to when it first died and the display went out?
The Duracell Bunny came before the Energizer Bunny. However, Duracell failed to renew the bunny trademark in time in the U.S. and Energizer snatched it to create their competing mascot. The Duracell Bunny still lives on in Europe.
+Virtualgod2009 Alkaline batteries have huge differences here in America. It's not like it was in the 1980s when all batteries were crap. Duracell has high-density ion cores guaranteed to last 10 years; Energizer has recycled alkaline batteries; Rayovac has cheaper batteries, but they use standard copper top alkaline technology; Eveready and Sunbeam all use standard old alkaline technology. Super heavy duty cells use Carbon Zinc dry technology.
Ah yes....I remember these ones. The clock-pop was funny, because it was cranked-up slowly.....until it popped. :-D I do believe we also had some flames in there too. :-) As for the rabbit, I was hoping that it's motors would arc-out or something, then create a big WHOOOMPH with a gush of fire. No cigar this time. Oh well, whip out the explosives and blast it's head off. LMAO. Thanks for re-loading these, Mr. Photon! :-) -BoomBoxDeluxe.
Another entertaining trick is to get a 20w fm transmitter exciter rack mount device with adjustable output power and connect the antenna out to the fm radio antenna in, this smokes the fm receiver, play music through the transmitter /radio receiver til it pops, slowly crank up the fm power. Use a blank part of the broadcast band for the test.
Another great video from Photonic! Had me laughing mate couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for the bunny in a strange way! Pmsl @ "he couldn't outrun the variac though!"
Ah, the one with the rabbit. I remember that from before. The first part was particularly enjoyable, something about fizzing, popping and small sparks in the tiny components. Brings back memories from exploding capacitors and burning leds... The tragic music for the first part really suited it well. Must have been fate.
Am i right in thinking that the diodes you pointed out are a bridge rectifier? Would it be possible to wire a bridge rectifier up to a cheapo dimmer switch and have a cheap variable DC power supply?
The bunny is shacking his head like "NO NO NO, please stop this " Btw, you should have plug the rabbit mechanism on a bigger motor and slowly increase the speed until it totally destroy it (not because of motor failure but because of mechanical one.
Since the caps are rated to 10V I'm guessing the small step-down transformer in the clock radio not shown in the video outputs 6V AC..but there is 2 white and one red on the radio perhaps its 6v-0-6v
Haha omg i loved the smell of my old scale electrics, haha omg i laughed out loud whn the rabbits head went pop jus came out hahahaha thank you for this moment haha
You're pulling my leg right? Got a part number save me searching? Love the channel by the way, was a sub of the old one but didn't notice it'd gone :( Sorry.
Clock radio went into permanent snooze function! :D
1:57 LCD display tries to spell "HELP"
IKR? Right? LOL!
It's actually a segment display, but whatever. Lol
Cn Tech Yes it's a LED segment display- But it almost saying "HELP" is the money shot.
+WAQWBrentwood True
I thought it tried to spell HELL
That was the most violent death of an alarm clock i have ever seen!
+King Thallium Because of that music.
Love Andys sense of humour.
The rabbit going bang at the end hahaha
And yes the brushes etc on scaletrix is a very recognisable smell
How ya doin kim?
To be fair, I was surprised the clock radio kept on playing even when half of the power circuit was up in smoke :|

that was clock circuit
But fortunately in 1:57 that would end it, that music was also getting me nuts haha
What is the name of that music though? I actually quite liked it.

One of my favourite "overvolting" videos!! That clock radio ended up exactly like my old one, nice ;)
Impressive how long the radio kept playing with half the power supply blown up :) What sort of voltage was it up to when it first died and the display went out?
"Arcing motor brushes have a certain bouquet." ____Classic!!!!
The rabbit was epic! Great laugh. Thank you!!!
And I do remember the clock displaying"HELP" just before the fireworks were over!
Why is everyone saying the rabbit belongs to Duracell. The pink rabbit is owned by Energizer.
The Duracell Bunny came before the Energizer Bunny. However, Duracell failed to renew the bunny trademark in time in the U.S. and Energizer snatched it to create their competing mascot. The Duracell Bunny still lives on in Europe.

Virtualgod2009 Same here. I have an alkaline battery charger though, and that's specifically what it's marketed to do. It's the Viatek Renu-it Pro.
+Little Billy Chespin I've been seeing bunny logos on duracell packs in the US recently.
Little Billy Chespin The Energiser bunny wears glasses and has a drum.
Pop music is now playing on the radio !
You got to get a Energizer Bunny !
1:41 PFFF! And the music is still playing like nothing is happend :D

5:12 This had me on the floor
5:20 when the energizer bunny gets too much drugs
You should do a video on a pumped up scalextric set and see what speed you can get the cars to go to...
I like how the music and the clock still go peacefully after two violent pops :)))
omg om laughing so hard from that last 20 sec that I can't breathe
Duracell bunny met his match

Wow ,this is an old comment.
The rabbit on the bench was the best. Nothing can stand up to the Variac when it is angry.
Im quite pleased with myself, predicted EXACTLY which component would pop first :D
Ahh the rabbit! one of your finest pops :)
These videos both inform me and cheer me up :D
"I couldn't help myself, I got a little wiff of the old rabbit" - Photon
Just for anyone who's curious, the music that the clock radio was playing is Piano Trio in E flat major Op.100
performed by the Vienna Haydn symphony orchestra
I actually liked that song that was playin! Lol

me at the ending: "Ah, you popped it." :)

The clock radio was hilarious, the time stopped and the non-Dolby surround sound kept playing till the entire circuit blew up.(still laughing)
what's this classic song?
They don't make radios like they used to. They don't make rabbits like they used to.
That variec is amazing. All the abuse and it's still able to blow stuff up
photonicinduction can you overvolt a pbx phone system if you find one that would be interesting with the phones connected
could i use DC on a variabl resistor insted of rectifing a variac??? thx

This may have been answered many times, but where did you get your variac?
is that full wave rectified or just half wave
KABOOM GOES THE RABBIT
Will it work with 60 hertz.ac?
Since the caps are rated to 10V I'm guessing the small step-down transformer in the clock radio not shown in the video outputs 6V AC..but there is 2 white and one red on the radio perhaps its 6v-0-6v
Mr. Rabbit looks like the one used in the Dutch Duracell commercial.
HAHAHA. I love your videos. That was pretty funny. Over voltage is always fun.
upload the one where you pop a phone and a car polisher :) pls
Haha omg i loved the smell of my old scale electrics, haha omg i laughed out loud whn the rabbits head went pop jus came out hahahaha thank you for this moment haha

How Photon snoozes his alarm clock ⚡💥🔥
Lol
