I am studying Dentistry and by far I love Aesthetics and working with composites :)
True me I am in rush to change them out! I have 2 that I question that I really would want replacing the rest can stay they don't bother me so I am not going to bother them!
Beautiful
That's a lot of work!
It's good Masha Allah
You picked a good patient. You can see the other TCRM on the other tooth and see how the dentist did a better job on the the restoration that was filled. You can also see how this restoration looks better and more natural. I wish my TRCMs had a dentist that finished it better. Its just a big blob on my occlusal surfaces on 2 and 3.
Cool
Looks like there is still decay present!
don't rush to replace all amalgam fillings if they doesn't bother you, recent studies showed that Aerosol resulting from removing Amalgam restorations is highly dangerous if isolation isn't done in a carefully during the procedure.
Yes my old dentist was telling me but I up and moved from PA to FL & I am having a hard time finding a good dentist I guess there so use to older people here because there bedside manner sucks :( wish I could fly up to my old dentist :)
how many fillings do you have ? the average is 8 fillings by age 18
And it is better :)
but, where's glass ionomer?
Dent.1987,J.Oral Rehabil.1988,Ishikiriama,S.K.,Oper.Dent.v.31,n.6.,2007)
Lol, my dentist is perfect thank you. That's why I don't have teeth that look like the ones of the video.
OMG
Thumbs up if you want to go to this dentist!
I am no rapper & I didn't know the word of my amalgam filling at the time & if I could get all the silver amalgam filling out of my teeth and replace with white I would!
Good job! But in my opinion that tooth is going to necrotize...
My doc joined those 2 teeth with teeth cement .. lol. Now I'm facing so much iritation
That restoration is too close to the pulp, should have done a root canal treatment instead
i wish i had these dental clinics in my country.....i had to fill my front teeth and now i can barely smile anymore cuz there is such a big color difference......and if i want to get my teeth done in another country i have to be a minister or millionaire here.... -_-
Where you from this is the basic filling any dentist can provide to you.
Omg I wish I could have all the silver in my mouth replaced with this!
Michelle Frances Peterson-Arnone come to my clinic please
THIS WHOLE PROCESS COULD HAVE BEEN SHORTER IF THEY JUST TOOK OUT THE TOOTH... OH BTW.... WHAT IT THE CORRECT PLURAL? TEETHBRUSH OR TOOTHBRUSHES?
This is totally normal here. You don't see silver fillings anymore here. The teeth I had that had to be repaired are all like this.
sorry?
Have fun removing that when it breaks down.
Yeah, exactly, nobody on earth would prefer amalgam over composite, unless they're a rapper and have a grill LOL
WHY DON'T YOU JUST GET ON WITH IT??
Better yet, use amalgam. ;)
Not for deep cavities like this.
@Evelyn Pereira: If you refuse to use amalgam, you won't ever be my dentist. Maybe you're just a troll believing in anything "Unca Keith" is telling you - it's like a bible spell to you........
My kids also have their cavities filled since they're 3 years old. But be sure about that: No dual-shade filling material with chamaeleon effect was used: The material slightly had another color...... ;-)
Amalgam is still the most placed filling material - you can spout out propaganda against amalgam as much as you want...... ;-)
So your children still have milk teeth and 4yrs is the least these survive.
.....maybe you should change the dentist..... Go to a dentist not providing anti-amalgam propaganda and making a company like 3M ESPE and Keith Haig rich.
Depends on pt we give them choice amalgam is not esthetic and avoided in deep cavities like this in video.
Mudassar premolar
@Michelle P: You must be kidding..... You will replace your strong, durable silver fillings by this filth of minor quality? Glue waste mixed with glass powder? Do you realize how ugly and unnatural this looks? Do you know that your "fantastic fillings" need to be replaced every 3 to 5 years due to the shrinking of the material? Drilling again and again - not the best way for your tooth structure - but doesn't matter: 3M ESPE also offers you the crowns you'll need after too much "redentistry"....... ;-)
Anti-amalgam atrocity propaganda is not a medical statement - it's a crime and should be prosecuted this way.........
ya nice. change any of your anterior's to amalgam as well. very aesthetics
+Ck W I had a car accident a couple of years ago and broke 6 of my upper front teeth. The dentist offered me glue waste and glass spans to restore the teeth. I said NO - no way in hell that this material will ever be in my mouth - put caps on them! Amalgam in my front teeth? - Why not- 100 timesbetter than composite!
I need to tell you the 100% true story about my wife, our daughter and "esthetical pleasant" filling material:
When I met my wife 5 years ago, she told me that she had her amalgam, that she got placed when she was 7, replaced by "Unca Keith's" "esthetical pleasant" material when she was 19.
When we met, she was 24 and had problems to eat even jelly due to the shrinking of the material - poor girl...... :'-(
She is an adorable young woman with fantastic and straight (without ever wearing braces) but sensible enamel, so she had 11 teeth filled with your "magic material"; 3M ESPE......
I taught her what to do with "amalgam-free" dentist offices (boycot them), what "holidtic dentistry" means (bullshit) and the only thing, you should do with composite: Drill it out and replace it by amalgam. And so we did: I went with her to ervery appointment, sometimes the dentist said: "Those are two tiny composite fillings and they can stay in" - My wife looked at me a little insecure and looked at me, to tell the dentist what to do: "Get this rotten stuff out immediately, I don't even want a molecule of this filth in her mouth" - "Ok" replied the dentist and started drilling.
Now all teeth are refilled with amalgam, she can chew and eat anything she wants to and now I can kiss my wife :-D: Before thextreatment was done, I only kissed her cheeks but I didn't drink from her glass, didn't eat from the same fork, knife or her spoon - Would you like to kiss a wife with industrial waste in her mouth? - For me, this would be disgusting......😝😝😝
In November, our daughter (4 1/2 years old) gets 4 cavities in her lower molars filled - Can you guess what material will be used as a filler? - I think you can...... And so can "Unca Keith"....
.... ;-)
Never again a polymerisation lamp will light up in my mouth, my wife's mouth or the mouth of our daughter - I swear to god!
Whenever I got asked, what to use as a filler, you can imagine my answer: Do it this way: Ask the dentist, with what material he/she wants the tooth to fill with: If he/she refuses using amalgam, get um from the dentist's chair, tell him/her "Have a nice day" and get your treatment done at a not - amalgam-free dentist office! :-D
+TheOwlDaddy i have to agree to disagree.
+Ck W I don't have any anterior fillings, but if I wold have any: Why not? Better than toxic industrial waste from "Unca Keith"........ My wife and her molars filled with this trash? My wife with glue waste and glass powder in her mouth? Sorry, but I would not be in the position to kiss her: Maybe I would have to puke....... :'-(((
+TheOwlDaddy Amalgam is a great restorative material. It is the material of choice to maximize quality of care to a large population. It is much less technique sensitive to place, and requires less time to place. Composite restorations are very time consuming if incrementally layered the proper way. They now have bulk fill composites such as SonicFill, which are just as quick to place as amalgam, and get good results. Composite is not as good as amalgam overall due to technique error. If a composite is placed properly, then it can be just as good as an amalgam.
