@@JM-iw2if "do you know how many videos they put out? c'mon man, give me 4 year old information in excruciating detail so i don't have to put any effort in". fuck off.
Every Resident Evil LP has been a history of Pat getting stuck on enemy hitboxes. He just _loves_ to shove his face against them and hope they step back.
The Outbreak series literally allows you to tackle enemies when unequipped to push them away or to stun them (most of them). Most characters also have a dodge or special move mechanic to them. Makes it easier to deal with a Zombie in a tight hall and try to run pass them without use of ammo/durability.
I feel like games should be more like Resident Evil Outbreak... where it has the best of both worlds. 3D Controls on the left analog stick; 2D Controls on the D-Pad. Auto-Aim with R1; Manual Aim with R2. L1 whilst holding R1 to quickly auto-target a different enemy; characters have special moves such as Potshots that are exclusive to R2. You can also quick-turn with Down D-Pad and Circle. I usually use 3D Controls, but fuck sometimes 2D Controls can make combat and bosses a lot easier than with 3D Controls. Fuck, File 2 has Movement and Attacking; just hold R1 and L1 at the same time and the player can Move and be in an action stance, using either X (attack) or O (special) like if they were standing in an attack stance. Similar to Silent Hill series. I also have a critique over some of the gameplay. A good amount of Resident Evil games are annoyingly awful mainly due to the enemies, not controls. Played Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 and can use everything from a tackle or knife to a shotgun to kill most enemies with ease except some bosses. Something like Code Veronica you are not going to do very well against enemies such as the bandersnatch and hunters with a pistol. Tried, usually die. Mostly based on either bad enemy mixed with location design, or the enemy forces you to use a certain type of weapon (Explosive Bolts and Shotgun respectively) to properly dispose of them without taking hits. That being said, Resident Evil Outbreak is better because in the action stance (R1/R2) all of the characters have a special move with the O button... so one of the characters can do a crouch duck that makes them invulnerable to attacks for a certain second or so during that three second animation. Others have Blocks, different Dodge Types, and even unique attacks or a mix of an attack or dodge. Which, considering this game has a good amount of melee weapons, makes being close and personal as well as dealing with faster enemies easier. Also the enemies are generally better in the Outbreak series. Generally. If Resident Evil Series was like the Souls series, Resident Evil Outbreak would have Dark Souls 1 type of enemies whilst most of the others is like Bloodborne... which makes it more fair. In comparison to some of the other games, I can only think of one enemy that is exceptionally a cunt, but that is a rare enemy that only shows up in special occasions usually (anyone remember the Earwigs?) Even then, it's not as bad as some of the enemies in Code Veronica, which feels less like skill and more about having the right and only right weapon to deal with them and spamming the shit out of enemies without a second thought. EDIT: Also Pat playing Resident Evil Outbreak was painful as fuck
Tank controls are great, you can actually go into another screen without spinning around. It’s about the controls being from the characters perspective rather than the camera.
Tank controls are the reason why I can't play FPS games. Why is it that when I tilt the stick left, I *slowly* turn left instead of just turning the direction I tilted the stick? I can never wrap my brain around it. Somebody should come up with a better control scheme.
uhh no? We have plenty of controls. Third person view is still a thing that games like Yakuza or GTA uses and many other games, isometric games like Hades or Divinity, 2d sidescrollers and platformers. Tank controls dying didn't limit anything at all.
@@viewtiful1doubleokamihand253 Horror games of what? So it only matters if the horror games have budget? That's stupid. There are horror games that uses other style than over the shoulder and FPS, you know. Faith, Limbo, Lone Survivor, heck if you ain't a picky guy there's RPG maker horror games. @@viewtiful1doubleokamihand253 So end of the day, this isn't a problem with the state of videogames in general, but just a "you" problem then because you just play AAA games. Cool.

Matt won't shut up about Face/Off
Pat misses Tank Controls
Liam likes anime, I guess
Woolie loves fighting games more than hot bisexual girls
You forgot that Woolie thinks that love is just chemicals
jason shepard here's the difference, scientists actually agree with that one. the rest of them are objectively wrong.
Love is literally chemicals though????
Liam loves the Vita
Let's have an anime style fighting game based on Face/Off that has tank controls
i appreciate that every time pat fails in a game with tank controls, matt's instant reaction is "if only you had better controls....."

DURRR TANK CONTROLS
I lost it when he put the picture of Louis C.K. when Matt said "Duh Tank Controls"
Something about Pat as Chris Redfield yelling at tank controls “No! Don’t go!” Cracks me up.
I’m pretty sure the phrase ‘Pat misses tank controls’ should be both his epitaph and how he is introduced to new people.
To be fair, it tells you a lot about his personality.

Great compilation.
Tank controls is Pat's Face/Off. Only tank controls doesn't have Nic Cage to make things all better.

Jeedy Jay Hei that's just like Woolie in the dark souls 2LP
No, Woolie's the opposite - he swings at distant enemies and hopes they step forward.
Tank controls would be the perfect control scheme for any character who automatically Rising Tackles whatever's in their way.
