Founded in 1964 in Tel Aviv with Martha Graham as its first director, Batsheva Dance Company has grown to become one of Israel's most innovative companies, renowned for their primal energy and joyful stylistic mashups. As its new season opens, film-maker Mat Heywood steps behind the scenes with artistic director Ohad Naharin as the company rehearses and discovers how dancing is all about tuning in.

Pretty ironic that the point of the video is listening to the body, how rare and important that is and that it has been titled 'making the body listen'....

You have to listen to the body in order to make it listen. It's a connection dancers strive to have. That's when we reach the level of artistry. Theres a balance.

Listening to our body....rather than telling it what to do.

Great to watch this as Spring is almost here and the body says, 'Remember me?!!'

I don't understand how they listen to the body when everyone is doing the same sequence like an army and I don't hear what the dancers have to say, only Ohad speaks, why?

Bot-shave-a. But this is an American's P.O.V. so I'm not exactly sure. But this is how the American dance world says it.
