    Jersey in bloom! Inpatients make great filters because they are aggressive and easy to remove in the fall.

    Beautiful pond and I love Cane Corsos. I lost my old girl back in January from a sudden illness, I miss her terribly. If I had a nickel for every time somebody called my Corso a Bullmastiff, that's why I chuckled at 3:43 lol.

      Sometimes I forget how blessed I am living in Switzerland where every body of water is so clear you can see the bottom under 6 feet of water... (of course rain and movement sometimes does make it murky but you get the idea.)

    Been seeing a lot of notifications of waterfall features. Which I LOVE... but the dogs made it interesting.
    I want a recreational pond of my own one day BBC with an 7-8 ft.... oh man... I can't remember what the type is called 🤔... but it's thin & smooth looking. It's going to be wide enough to hold a lagoon or bar behind it.
    It'll be stocked, though.

  • @life_loyalty_trust

    My only question and concern: Is how shallow these ponds are when there in an area that has an actual winter with very cold long lasting weather? I would assume that first pond you showed wouldn't have had the problems with fish freezing or bad water quality if they had a deeper pond. That's one thing that i always see in allot of the pond video's is the depth that i would want deeper, for the longevity and health of my fish no matter the climate it can never hurt. Go deep or Go home LOL just came to mind.

    • @GregWittstockThePondGuy
      @GregWittstockThePondGuy  3 роки тому

      Aquascape is located just west of Chicago where our winters can be brutally cold. The pond needs to be at least 2 feet deep for the fish to survive winter. You can find more info on winter pond keeping here: www.aquascapeinc.com/?s=winter

      @LandvistaAquascapes 3 роки тому +1

      This pond is a little over 3 feet deep on one end, and just over about 5000 gallons, and we rehomed about 60 babies this spring, so no worries on overpopulation!

    • @iycekold
      @iycekold 3 роки тому

      Yeah too much koi in a small space doesn't look good

    • @LandvistaAquascapes
      @LandvistaAquascapes 3 роки тому +1

      @@iycekold We can assure that these koi are happy and thriving in their home! As we said in the video, we added about 1400 gallons to the pond last spring to accommodate the amount of fish in the pond, and it has always been crystal clear without the need for any external filtration
