I have a 2021 Outback Touring and have this all set up, but am wondering if there's any way to disable or tone down the "Keep eyes on the road" alert. I like looking around me when there's no traffic and this feature is just annoying.
Yes you can do that! I will make a video on that... with that being said you have to go to "settings" , "vehicle" , and it is under the driver monitoring system and then turn it off.
@@KyleBoline I think then the driver recognition feature gets turned off too and I use that to have the seat slide back upon entering then go back to my settings when it recognizes me.
@@Mistertudball I put blue painters tape over the all seeing eye. After one minute of driving a small beep indicating the eye is disabled with a stating white icon between the rpm and mph gages.
I have a 2021 Legacy Touring XT and I hate that system. It will not stay off when I disable it. It randomly will turn itself back on. Also, it fails to recognize me over half the time if I give up and just let it stay on. I'm the only driver so the seat and mirror settings never change, so that's not a big deal. I do get tired of the constant alert when I turn the car of "Driver Not Registered, Do You Want to Register Now"? I've tried setting up a couple of profiles and it still doesn't recognize me most of the time. The whole thing is a massive p.i.t.a. that mars an otherwise nice driving experience.
Yep, I agree. My Outback Limited is the same. The Driver Monitoring DMS defaults to ON every time you restart the car. I've turned it off, in the manual it states default to ON. My Outback DMS warns me whenever I turn right! And often when I pass a white color car or truck, weird, painful system.
Hey KB, Subaru's "Driver Monitoring System" (DMS) is crap. Driving in my suburban hood it alarms me every time I turn right; it also goes off when I turn at intersections; and I goes off on winding country roads that have trees. In fact, on very winding, slow 30mph roads, with large trees, the system Auto Brakes and alarms! Junk.
I could see how that would be annoying, for every Eyesight function, Subaru does allow you to turn each and every function either on or off to cater to the customer's needs/wants in the vehicle. My suggestion would be to turn everything you dislike off. Let me know if you need help on turning those off. Thanks for watching the channel!
@@KyleBoline Fact: the DMS, Driver Monitoring System, on 2022 Outback resets to ON every restart. Only way to stop it is a piece of tape over the infrared camera pointing at driver, then it will beep once as "Disabled". "Crash Avoidance" cannot be turned off permanently either, it auto brakes on tight curving roads that have trees close to the road edge. Both of these can be turned OFF temporarily in the menu, both return to ON at restart. Dangerous, distracting. Everything else is turned off because of the constant beeping.
I saw a UA-cam on that recently. You insert the buckle and unclick it 20 times within 30 seconds. I haven't tried it and don't have any need to disable it.
I agree, the chime is random. Sometimes it goes off when I start my Outback, or turn it off. Sometimes it does not sound off, very weird system. I hate the Driver Monitoring System DMS, it goes off randomly.

does anyone know how to disable seatbelt chime

Yeah, you put the seatbelt in the latch :)
@@rcarlson8203 how do you do that

you can take out the seat and pull out the harnestwire
An infrared pointed at my head -- no thanks to that. Beeping all the time --- nah. The CrossTrek, I take it, doesn't have such an annoyance.
