Whats your favorite piece of gear?
Hi hats
Also first
My drums 😂
Hi hats
I've gotta say the hi hats!
That rug really tied the room together.
And they peed on it
Obviously you're not a golfer.
Yeah because the rest of the room is hella boring.
And all along I thought it was the faceplate on the lightswitch on the wall that tied it all together🤔
RLB y is he not a golfer
You should build a "mega kit" out of all the drums, cymbals, and hardware you have. Also a "all of my drum kits" vid would be awesome as well!
Let’s see all your other kits!!!
Rdavidr closet tour 👀👀👀
I second that closet tour
There’s something so calming about your vids, the music, editing, commentary, and tone just make your vids so unique. I can’t think of any music related UA-cam channels that I find as wholesome, I can straight up watch these vids for hours.
Right!?! Any idea of the song used in this video?
@@lofi_bonsai I know he makes his own beats and stuff, he’s talked about it when talking about his Distrokid sponsorship. So chances are the music is his own music.
Everything bro!!!👍especially the bass drum head 👊. Thx for the highlight 😃
Thanks David for the video. Very nice to see what gear you use. I love your channel. No bs and down to earth. Cheers
Thank you for finally making this, ive been hopping around videos from years ago and i’ve been wondering what kit you’ve settled on for now. Sounds great 🤟🏼
your overhead/room mic setup is sick! inspiring and shows the attention to detail w/ your setup. Also, those dual hats sound killer.
In Australia that kit was sold as a Pearl Maxwin.
The way you have your overhead mics mounted to the ceiling is extremely clean and satisfying. Excellent job man.
Amaaaazing! Definitely the rest of the Kit is aweeeeeesooome! I love that glitter thingy
Your tour videos are some of my favorites of yours. Going through every piece of drum gear you have would prolly be a pain; but it'd be rad to check out
This is the most solid drumming I've seen from you yet, nice!
I like the sound of the kit 👍 especially the snare 🤘
Love it! I'm a big fan of how you have your overhead mics!
Do a full tour.
I may be the only one here, but i would love me a workshop tour. Definitely came here for the creativity, and stayed for the chops.
I’d love to see a tour of ALL your snares. If you’re like most drummers, you have more than people think you should, but less than you know you want.🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥
room mics sound phenomenal, keep up the dope vids
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 03/07/2020 (07/03/20 - USA)
Cara, seus vídeos me salvaram nesta quarentena. Não entendo tudo o que você fala, mas é muito bom ver você trabalhando e fazendo o que ama.
Congrats!!!
That kit sounds really good
Just got my early 60's Slingerland in blue/white satin flame 20/13/16
just did the cotton ball trick by the way, it truly works
The Saluda is really sweet! Loving that. The new set at the end looks like my old high school band room set. Ludwig with chrome over wood. Back in the day, they came with chrome dot heads. Wish they would come back with those. Looked great.
I also have that sand ride, it is my absolute favorite ride cymbal ever made. Perfect for literally any genre of music, from jazz to death metal.
I have one as well. Really great cymbal. Perfect cymbal for those who want a good washy crash but still have really good stick definition. So versatile
I enjoyed your tour idea. I would like all of the tours, please. Thank you.
Nice videos I love your channel man... keep up the awesome work
Loving the new studio bro
I don't know if you have a video, but eventually, I'll have a drum studio in my house, and I'm trying to learn some organization tips for like storing cables and all our weird little drum things and keeping the area decently clean. I love your videos!
That ceiling mount thing is genius. It’s so stupidly simple I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Definitely saving this video for future reference for that!!
I really like the set up. It's a really old school set up, which makes it look fantastic✌️...
Man dude. Your kit sounds killer.
Dude ive been a drumkubes artist for a while and they are great man. nice kit tour
Dang, I got to it 12 minutes after it was posted! Looks absolutely awesome man!
Hi David. My name is Randy from Kansas City. Over the years I have picked up four of those drum kits. What I've enjoyed about them is they are the old Philippine mahogany. I was listening to your description but I wanted to ask, have you recut the bearing edges yet? Those particular shells love 830 degree or 45 degree inside cut while having a round over on the outside. It gives them a lot of punch and warm tone. Over the years I have taken Kitts like that and totally rebuilt them bye reworking the shells, hardware, and new wraps. Also, if you want a brighter crispr tone in the mahogany shells I have used water-based sanding sealer and put three coats on the inside and out after I cut the edges. That helps to again make the sound a little crisper and yet offers protection and a good sealed base when you would put on a good wrap. If you haven't done that yet, give it a try. You can find me on Brack Custom Drums on Facebook. Have a great weekend.
Weirdly I think the room mics solo’d sounds the best...
I don't think I've ever heard room mics that sound that good
It's a good sound but the stereo image is wack. The kick especially is way on the right
@Connor Pearson go to my channel on September 25
@Connor Pearson also your right the room mics Drumeo uses probably sound twice as good as those
I do love all of your videos. Great diversion. My favorites are the rebuild episodes. 'specially Modifacations. (Star Cymbal)
I would like to see a workshop tour.
And we would love to see you back in action, Lance :)
That crash sounds just amazing. Kinda reminds me of the vintage 16" Paiste black label 2002 that the wind orchestra I play in has. It even looks kinda similiar, it's just a tad flatter than yours.
Kit sounds great man
I'm addicted to those Freestyles!
dude that floor tom sounds beautiful
A whole drum/studio tour would be great. I know you have done that but a revamped one would really be great!
More vintage drum/MIJ videos love em
Not a criticism by any means, I love your videos.
This is just something to try out When your demoing a cymbal, hats, snare or even toms the use of the Herta & particularly the Herta Sweep are an excellent way to demonstrate of how the sound of the component integrates with the other parts of the kit in a crescendo.
You're comical and informative,good job dude!!! 🍻 ✌ 😎
I also bought the same kit, blue sparkle finish like this one on Craiglist without any logos. The seller said it was a “Reuther” stencil kit by Pearl. I googled it and it seems correct.
That snare sounds dope af bro
Saluda Cymbals. Good choice! The Diamond series is my favorite.
Can you do a studio tour in which you show us every kit you own at the moment. I‘m not that kind of tech gear head but I love to see others show their drums
Man that kick sounds sweet 👌
I got a pair of freestyles with a 5B pack since they were on special , it’s been love ever since 🤘🏽❤️🤘🏽
It all sounds pretty killer
Those hats look and sound just like my 15” zildjian new beats. My dad bought them when I was a kid, and I inherited them. I find they mix a little better in the studio than live, but overall they’re great for pop and jazz sessions.
The kit sounds amazing! I'm loving it 😁👍
You have a very nice gears! :) Cool!
That kit sounds good
Must see all drum sets!!
that BD head is rad!
Men you should do a video about how you tune your drums, all sound amazing!
I had a Gretch catalina virgin kit and Yamaha Power V. Sold both for an electronic drum kit. BEST MOVE EVER. Acoustic kits are like trying to keep a dying patient alive. lol
Bruh. Yo room mics be sounding mighty good
Them playing zones👌
Sounding good!!
Set up all your kits side by side (lined up) and do a review of each. The ULTIMATE sound demo to see them all together and hear each one individually
Hey nice Chicago feature on the Saluda part
We’ve been waiting 😤
I love Saluda’s cymbals!!!
That crash sounds amazing...👌🏻🙂
Like the new merch!!!
other kits tour would be great. so would an all your cymbals tour
Workshop tour!
Going by my own preferences, these toms have the exact right sustain length, as opposed to some of your other kits where they sound a bit too long for my taste. And the very first new drumhead I had ever bought (now 40 years ago!) was also a coated CS for my old Sonor snare :-) Other than that I only had a Sonor bass drum (also 20") with a Pearl pedal, some 'Morris' hi-hats for 50 bucks and a pair of bongoes as rack toms; Best Christmas ever! :-))
A workshop tour to see what tools you use for your modifications would be good
We need a tour of all ur drums and cymbals!!! Also megakit?????? We need that megakit vid
Hey david, out of all the shell packs you have, what makes you keep coming back to this unknown blue sparkle kit? Especially for it being the kit tour?
Also a tour of every shell pack in closet would be awesome!
God damn that snare sounds butter! Though the snare wires sound a bit tight for my taste
I have that snare! It is my main as well!
in case anyone is as bored as me heres my main setup:
Pork Pie Hip Pig Kit
Mahogany, Red/Gold Duco finish
22x14 kick - Powerstroke 3 coated / Smooth white reso
16x16 floor tom - Emperor Coated / Ambassador coated reso
13x9 rack tom - Emperor Coated / Ambassador coated reso
Gibraltar/Yamaha hardware
Rogers Powertone COB snare - Pinstripe coated / Ambassador clear reso
Zildjian 21" Sweet ride traditional
Paiste 19" Giant Beat thin crash
Sabian 14" AA Regular hats
Yo david, you should try to make a cymbal in to a flower shape, i think it would look pretty cool
A request for all the tours!
Awesome stuff as always! One question though: Doesn't the DrumKubes get showed around a lot when you play? Can't they potentially get thrown out of the port hole, especially the smaller ones?
You should try Masterwork cymbals! They sound like Zildjian K but half the price. I recommend Masterwork Troy or Masterwork Customs
Studio Tour!!!
Is the floor tom mount on the bass drum just to mount like a stack or cowbells?? Also would totally be interested in a shop and studio tour, working on my own studio and shop and would love to see some more inspiration! Keep it up man! Love it!
The roadpro hardware is the frickin best man!!! I've had a tama roadpro snare stand for almost 20 years now, and it is still going strong!!! I use it for my 2 drum set snares and my marching snare. It is seriously the strongest snare stand on the market right now!!!
might have to check out the freestyle series
I think it would be sic if you do a drum gear tour by brand or by era!
I think a big special would be could hour long tour of all the drum sets with some quick sound samples
Do a tour of all of your gear!
Do a full gear tour of everything you have
I'd say my favorite piece of gear is the remo black x snare batter head. it reminds me of avenged sevenfold's the Rev's snare sound, which has been my favorite ever since i got into drumming.
Great video! But I've been wondering why do you use this cheap drumset instead of your more expensive drumsets like the tama. (Sorry for the bad English I'm french😂)
And you *bought* the cymbal(s)?? I had believed you were being sponsored by Meinl! x-)) My very first crash cymbal was also a Meinl, a cheap 16" Streamer, followed by a 16" Raker. And yup, I believe you're right and your Zildjians are New Beat hi-hats, too; A friend of mine owns a pair and they sound very similar.
you should try out the ludwig breakbeats by questlove, great compact kit
Your beard is looking really nice david.
I'd like to know about your overhead mic placement and how you determine the unphased "sweet spot". Also the same for your room mics. Thanks!
I use Vic Firth Freestyle sticks as well. Mine are 5A's.
I've always been a Remo guy but a few years ago the guy at Guitar Center recommended the Evans EMAD 360 bass drum batter head. My kick has never sounded better.
Just noticed that you drive a Honda Fit. Great car. How many drums have you been able to fit (pun intended) in it? Maybe even a video showing how many you can squeeze in. For all us drum buyers.
Oohh I love that crash
Sorry, new here! It´s Maxwin by Pearl i think. My first drum was Maxwin too.
