The work you do for the community is invaluable. Thank you. As for me, I'm done buying DTM stuff until they demonstrate they have moved from quantity to quality. I'd rather shell out $30 for a top-quality single engine from SS than $20 for 37 reskins from DTM, all day. And those sounds just scream "I don't give a toss for realism". I am actually happy to pay for the superb sound enhancements from AP. Immersion is everything, and good quality, accurate sounds are absolutely crucial. I wish DTM, and Dovetail as well, understood this.
It's disgusting and disappointing to have to deal with DTM shit. It's worse when it's actually very tempting to buy the stuff because no one can resist the old school stuff. And flying colors is more than enough to get a pass from me. But this is just unacceptable, even by DTM standards.
Check the trucks, passengers, interior lighting, tail lights, El Capitan drumhead, couplers on the Hi-Liners and be amazed over the lack of quality control. yet still people rate this DLC positive and praise it on RWA and elsewhere ...
@@Kanawha Well to be honest, there are freeware providers on RWA who provide much better content than DTM and DTG can provide. I especially adore the Britkits Narrow Gauge Shay. All of his locos basically. RWA is great. Idk what your problem with RWA is, but clearly you don't know how RWA works.

I briefly watched it. Now 100% am NOT going to buy the pack. And you’re right that DTM products are evolving, just backwards. Another example is Penn Central RP FA-1 and PRR FA-1. PRR loco was released 3 years earlier, but is infinitely better. And I’m not even comparing their retro pack GP35s (where the whole control stand is coloured pure black so you can’t see a thing among the controls) and their WP GP35 from 2017. Later one is not ideal either, but is a lot better and at least driveable.
From what i understand the guy who ran VRC got so tired of people pirating his stuff he quit. Sadly the only pack i was able to get before he closed was his GP40 mega pack. Glad i did but sad I missed his U28CG. As for this pack.... Well fuck, i'm a huge Santa Fe/BNSF fan and was about to get this pack before i saw your video. I got to say thanks! it saved me some money.
I actually brought up these concerns to IHS on their Facebook page when advertising this pack and they did not give a shit. They really don't care that they're polluting TSC with this sort of reskin crap. The worst part is that you can go onto Railworks America and Train Sim Communty and find equivalent versions of literally everything included in this pack FOR FREE, all made by fans, often made between 5-10 years ago, and all better quality than this garbage fire. Iron Horse Simulators and Digital Train Model should be hanging their heads in shame.
Dude you should see some of the other stuff. When you open the windows, the window object moves to the center of the cab from outside view. Its sad how much DTM has fallen. Unfortunately I lost all of my VRC stuff when my first PC committed the big die, but its not even funny how much better his stuff was compared to what we are getting now. I don't understand how such a long running sim has such shoddy people behind it now.
Found your channel and love the content! I play British stuff on TSC but would love to try out American stuff too (not enough money to make the jump though!). An American friend groaned when I told him this pack was available, so took a look at what the fuss was about!
E unit? ATSF only had a handful of E8s, if that. If you’re thinking EMC E1s, there’s a major problem-sounds. Sounds *do not exist* of the Winton engines that were in those units. Same with the PAs, sounds do not exist whatsoever of the 16-244. Sure, you could maybe get away with subbing a 12-251 sound as that’s what the PAs had later anyway, but it wouldn’t be a “true” PA-1.
Well this was painful. Took me 3 hours to get through it. 25 smacka roonies ya say? I think not. Off topic as usual, but I am looking forward to the release of Smokebox's Challenger. From the screenshots on FB it looks to be promising.
Thanks and condolences 😆 I too look forward as hell to the chally. Supposed to be an Alco Century from dieselworkshop coming soon as well. Thankfully goods outweigh the bads in these couple months
The colors on the U28CG look nice, but the fact the pack sounds, looks, and feels like it came from DTM is what disappoints me. When I put my ATSF retro pack suggestion on the DTG Forums, I didn't think my suggestion would slap me back in the face. I was hoping for more than low quality locos and stock here. I thought "Pro Range" was more than enough of a hint. Edit0: The U28CG has the wrong color. It should be dark red, not common red (I call the regular red common red). Edit1: I mean the U28CG's color is slightly darker than the one in the dlc
How embarrassing. This is totally unacceptable. I see why DTM has basically refused to do an SW1, even when I handed him everything to do it on a silver platter except modeling. He just does not care anymore, nor does he have any intention of caring.
This is a shame because HIS is famous for making very decent scenarios (including the 300 or so on the workshop) but when it comes to locomotives they kinda fall off.
It's not worth doing any mods for this momma bird regurgitating kind of content. Fuck Dolzall and his ilk for spamming TS content with this worthless hunk o' junk garbage.

Ok. And thats totally cool. Thx for the view. But i digress its not abt rivet counting - its about shoveling out the same ol shit with a diff lick of paint on it (bad paint at that)
You concentrated too much on the locomotives ... Check the Santa Fe Hi-Liners and find: no passengers, no interior illumination, no tail lights, no El Capitan drumhead, bo2 truck the wrong way round on the Hi-Levels, the same truck is mounted OK on the baggage cars (done by somebody more competent than DTM?), trucks coarsely detailed and poorly textured, with a white bolster making it stand out under the car's shade, couplers that don't even exist in the prototype and couldn't even couple because of the box like extension, no brake hoses on those supposedly AAR Type F couplers, 4 inches of slack in what supposedly are TightLock couplers, Glad my n-th refund of DTM's stuff was accepted by Steam.
Honestly the reason why I stop playing train sim. No good routes or half assed at best and same old models as always. There's only so many times you can operate the AC4400 or the SS SD40s before it just gets old.
