What did you think about Ryan Newman's crash?
that technology is crazy
i legit thought he died or had really bad injuries ngl
I was standing there in disbelief, I thought he had died...
2020 was pretty brutal, 2021 was ouch
Stop milking it
When his dad broke down and Ryan as well I teared up, I’m really glad he survived, the story of his oldest telling him to stay alive really grips your heart ❤️
Great father & son relationship
Same
This whole thing almost had me crying im glad he is ok
Ryan has been quite the unluckiest, luckiest driver in NASCAR I think.
Yep not lucky to win but lucky to survive
yeah
Dude for real
Agreed lucky to survive but unlucky at the same time he shouda won 5 restrictor plate races within the past 10 years
He finished upside down AND GOT FREAKIN TOP 10 HOW
Can't help but get choked up and cry a little watching this.
Me too
Yeah
Yes sir
you is human ! reassured you it's normal
i agree.
I can’t imagine the emotions going through Ryan’s mind. To return to Daytona after a harrowing crash like that and race again is one of the greatest comeback stories ever.
Yeah he wrecked again but the race might be on tommorow or maybe even Tuesday
@@Nfl_fan_12 they may race tonight, depending on where the rain goes
@@user-rl7cw9eg8e it ends at 7
@@user-rl7cw9eg8e well they raced but joey did it again
@@Nfl_fan_12 what do you mean Joey did it again?
Thank god he’s still around man. After Dale us as fans can’t do that anymore
I think God and Dale Earnhardt sent him back to be with his daughters.
@@frankcastle1216 there's nothing that you can do as a driver. You land upside down after wrecking, and then another car hits you on the drivers door and lifts you up off the ground. The top of the roll cage, where your head is located.
I've watched this crash hundreds of times and it never fails to give me chills all over my body. This was one of the scariest things I have ever seen
Newman did not deserve to crash that night. That Daytona win should have been his. Glad and relieved to hear your recovery went well, and we're still rooting for you buddy!
I agree
The part that gave me the chills was the fluid coming out of the car so close to the flames. So glad he was able to walk out of the hospital a few days later. 👍🏻🙏🏻
This and Romain Grosjean's survival from his crash is a testament to how safe motorsport has become nowadays
Yes u are right
YES!!! such a heavy crash, both of them.
No it isn’t. It is but it isn’t. Ryan said it best himself with how things went he shouldn’t be here. This wasn’t the safety of the car that has him hear today it’s the man upstairs making sure a father can be there to father his kids. 🙏🙏 cars are definitely safer now I do agree but Ryan’s statement says that it wasn’t the safety precautions that day.
Sucks to see Ryan Newman getting involved in the wreck at the 2021 Daytona 500.
I believe Newman is done. He doesn't have the heart and mindset to win anymore.
Yeah, I know.
@@williammills8953 I believe he has the Heart definitly, just like every driver before him and during his time in nascar there comes a time when drivers "Longer outlook on Life" comes into play and they are more cautious and safer- therefore aren't as competitive as someone New coming into the sport.........Happened with Jeff gordon, Mark Martin,Rusty wallace, ernie Irvan--drivers just lose there "come get some" attitude
@@williammills8953 Well he is alive so that’s all that matters
It's was tough to see him crash out in this years Daytona 500, but it's much better than last years result. This year, he was ok. He more grateful 🙏 to survive than to think about winning again.
I was at this race, it was so scary to see in person and even crazier seeing it play later in slow motion. It’s a miracle that he survived and able to walk out a few days later.
I almost cried watching this live. He's very lucky to make it out of that car alive
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined” you gotta love that tho lmao
In the moment, I thought the he was gone. Choked up and all, so glad he survived and was minimally injured considering the impact.
I feel so bad aww thats so adorable i just thought that was cute of his oldest daugther for saying that im so sorry newman glad your okay such a heart touching story ❤
Not gonna lie I had flash backs of the 2001 Daytona 500 after we lost Dale Sr. When this crash happened..thank God Ryan was able to walk away from this.
One of the only drivers I still root for. Thank God he’s still around for his family and all his fans. Watching that live, I was so afraid he had died … hadn’t been that afraid after a crash since Dale in ‘96 at Talladega.
My mom was so shook up she said if he died I wasn’t allowed to watch NASCAR again. NASCAR though is a family sport and I couldn’t abandon this family. Newman has since become one of my favorite drivers.
god, looking at this view at 0:51 makes the crash even scarier.
Thats what i was thinking with the sounds and everything!
Ryan Newman is blessed to be alive
Just even watching it on TV is just awful. we all know Newman has been in awful wrecks and one at Daytona also and going on his roof. But the one in 2020 is just the one you would think nobody would survived. So glad Newman survived it!
I've never been a big Nascar fan, I played a few Nascar games and watched some races. I'm from NYC so there isn't too much Nascar or racing interest here. It just so happened that me and my dad were watching this race. My dad had watched the 2001 Daytona 500 when Earnhardt Sr suffered his fatal crash only a year before I was born. When we saw this crash I was just in shock and my dad immediately thought he wasn't going to make it. Watching this 5 minute video made me tear up. Seeing a crash like that and then watching him walk out of the hospital only two days later. It's a miracle.
I thought he died right there at the track. That was the scariest moment I’ve ever witnessed as a NASCAR fan
Way more scary than Dale's crash in '01. Tell me another driver who has no HANS Device and died from JUST A TAP!
Watching this replay always gives me chills. And to sit here and think that this man is without a ride for 2022. He still has so much more grit and determination to race and win. Wish someone would give him another chance. The don’t call him the Rocketman for nothing. I still believe he can drive and be competitive, and most of all, WIN! Best of luck Ryan! Hope you get the chance to drive full time again. 🏁🏆💙 Forever a fan!
Dude was so grateful that he walked out the hospital with both his daughters in hand with only socks on. Keep rockin it steady Ryan.
2020 was a wild year even in autosport. We had Ryan Newman his crash and Romain Grosjean. both would have died in those crashes not to long ago.
4:08 maede me tear up and cry tbh
That wreck was worse than i thought. Im glad he is still alive. I liked him as a kid too
Here 4 years after the crash. I remember thinking, "Oh, this might be February 2001 all over again.."
He was 5 seconds away from winning that race. Crazy how things can turn in a split second
With how crushed the roof was, it’s a miracle made it out. I guess that’s a testament to how much more serious vehicle safety is regarded. I’m glad he’s still around to race.
He took that impact by the oncoming car in the driver's side door at 200 mph. That was the worst part of the wreck.
ryan has had many flips, and crashes in the past but this one was the worst by far....
Agreed
And he always landed it on its roof
Yeah I agree
When my family was watching the crash live we all completely freaked it looked so bad. But I feel bad for Blaney can you imagine if Newman had actually died how horrible you would feel
Finally someone understands Denny didn’t cause the wreck
I've always liked Ryan and his Midwest Christian beliefs! Race on "Hooser Boilermaker"! Northwest Buckeye here!
"Midwest Christian"? Is that like a thing or something? lol
@@MrTmel123 yes
@@jameshuffman835 What are Midwest Christian beliefs? And how are they different than just regular old "Christian" beliefs?
Wow what a miracle I'm happy for Ryan Newman
It's crazy how bad this looked and how moderate dales crash looked yet ryan walked away and dale didn't
Thank God for sparing Ryan, he seems like a real good guy and family man
it wasn't god
This reminds me of Dale, Maybe Dale saved him and wanted him not to suffer the same fate he did...
God that crash is terrifying to watch. He shouldn’t have survived that, but he did. It’s incredible.
Unbelievable how Ryan, Austin, Rusty, Michael, etc ..walked away from their crashes, well not Ryan, but he survived..and Dale did not. 😞
I think we can all agree from here on out that whatever happens, wherever he finishes in a race, Ryan Newman is the biggest winner of them all.
Times where this looks like cars 3
True, McQueen had a similar accident
the 11 car just chilling back ther doing donuts
Dale Earnhardt Sr was definitely looking out above for Ryan. He is the next Earnhardt. I'm sure Jr will agree.
Thank Dale Sr too
I Was Watching It With My Family, When We Saw It We were in disbelieve like I In My 7 years of watching nascar have never saw a crash in my life like that
its funny how the ambulance is going literally like 3 mph
@Eric Seske u meant ambulance
I*
I’m so glad that he’s still alive cause he doesn’t deserve to die
Thank you dale. Best racer that ever lived, changed the whole sport even with his passing
I have recently got into NASCAR because of a friend and he loves Ryan Newman and I wanted to choose a driver to cheer on and this is the one. This story made me cry so much because you could tell God had Newman’s back the whole time and it just shows how much mercy God gives us and how grace works. Love you Newman you are amazing!
Probably got to be one of the gnarliest wrecks i've watched on live TV next to the F1 Grosjean crash.
Hementions what his helmet looked like after the crash, is there and photos of it? I really curious as to how damaged it was
The way the car went airborne shocked me. Please drive carefully even if you are participating in nascar competition.
Yes every time I watch it I tear up
I was genuinely sad when I saw Newman in the Big One today
I thought @ryannewman died that night because of the speed of the impact and how high he flipped. I said a quick prayer to heal Newman. Still one of the GREATEST drivers today in my opinion
now I feel bad for always specifically wrecking Ryan Newman in Nascar games
Very thankful that he lived.
No thanks to those who built the car chassis and crash protection and the the doctors and nurses that pulled him through, those who extracted him from the car and the paramedics who got him to hospital?
Unfortunate that he had to pull out after 15 laps
Only time you will see him cry
Good thing Corey and Ryan are ok
You can make the argument that this crash broke his drive. Newman made 14 top tens in 2019, just to only make 2 in 2020 and 5 in 2021 before losing his permanent ride
well i almost understand not being scared you can’t fear what you don’t remember
With how far this sport has reached with safety, I would have been damned if this turned into a tragedy.
My God NASCAR is so boring, but Ryan Newman, you are a true example of the best the Human spirit has to offer.
*Denny Hamlin doing donuts in the background*
I'm praying for Ryan
God didnt save Ryan, it was Dale letting him pass by. Ryan is thankful he didnt end like Earnhardt.
Honestly considering the fact that he didn’t remember being in a crash, I bet when he watched it for the first time, he probably was like “How am I alive after that?”
I’d literally quit racing forever and never watch it again if that happened to me
Why does NASCAR allow the drivers to push the other cars? It is so dangerous. That guy is a miracle that he is alive and wasn't permanently injured in any say. Especially a head injury. I'm glad for he & his family but I don't get his going back to racing. He's got two daughtes! Smh.
Are you really askig that? It's just the advanment of saftey honestly, he got lucky too
Only daddy's understand. There's absolutely no comparison to that love
NAW!! I ain't cryin'!! I think mah wife is cuttin' onions somewhere.............(sniff)
.......poor lil Stringbeans, love their Daddy.
He tried to block Ryan Blaney
that crash was freeking insane. never seen the likes.
Glad to see Newman is still alive
Loosing a Daytona 509 and being taht close must of hurt but almost loosing your life hurts more
Ryan Newman is so lucky to be alive
WOW HE GOT A BIG BIG BIG CRASH
More then lot of people tried to recreate this crash:D in nr2003
That so scary and terrifying but thanks goodness he’s okay
fear is not there=insanity
Crash into the wall into the air goes Newman
I to this race and saw it, Ryan’s car was upside down and on fire. This was a very scary situation.
A bruised brain is no joke. That was pretty serious.
0:50 was is really necessary to add fake crash sound effects???? It ruins everything.
0:50 those sound effects were completely unnecessary
0:49-0:50 who recorded this camera angle?
Let's remember how Hamlin almost killed Ryan on the last turn, but complains when Dillon did it to him. 🙋
Omg he is a miracle
it's saftey
What I hated about this was Hamlin was fist bumping and celebrating about winning and not caring about newman 😥
He didn’t know it was that bad
@@SESKE_5 but still he crashed he should have asked if Newman was ok before to celebrate
@@notbuggg that wasn’t on his mind. He was overwhelmed with emotion
At least Ryan Newman is okay
This happened a year ago
Crash safety engineers, paramedics and doctors saved him.
I would love to do this for a living. This is my dream. And if I had the chance to do this. I would be like will Ferrell. Shake and bake. Lol.
How Ryan Newman survived on that crash he would die on that car crash is soo destroyed
Meanwhile, Hamlin does doughnuts to celebrate his victory, while his competitor and technically co-worker almost dies in his wreck of a car.
dale vibes
