    Couldn’t help chuckling at the idea of deer hair being bleached and dyed black. Thanks for that.

    You put something down on the desk and my dog woke up out of a dead sleep! Thinking he had heard a mouse in the bedroom.......sigh, nutty dog!!

    As always a pleasure to watch you tie. Love seeing patterns mixed and matched, be it color combinations, or simply taking things that work from two or three different flies combined into something new altogether. When it works, it just works!

    Lovely pattern Davie I love the red being added to the Blue Zulu so I think I'll tie a few of them as feather blue Zulu's as well as a few Hedgehogs but have no red deer hair so was thinking of a wee bit of red bucktail instead.
    Davie do you bleach your own deer hair ?

      Hi David,
      I did try and bleach some hair and feathers many years ago but I did such a bad job I swore I would never try it again..I'm glad you liked the fly and red bucktail would work fine especially the short hair near the bottom of the tail..
      All the very best Davie..

    Nice fly. Are these for lakes or could you also use them in rivers?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  2 роки тому

      Hi Dominique,
      It is a style of fly and colour combination that is fished mostly on the lochs and lakes though it would fish well on the rivers too..I'm glad you liked it..
      All the very best Davie.

    Excellent as always Davie thank you!! One question, what type of wax do you like to use? I’ve tried a few different things but none seem to have the right touch & feel. Cheers!
