Yep, when I feel like I am making progress in work or with people I love, or even with myself something always gets in the way...I get injured, I lose my pay, suddenly the ones I love are having towers, it is always something. Why? Murphy's law darling. People can sometimes be very disappointing. Yes, and it's the little things sometimes. I learned that I need to put me first. It hurts like hell when they disappoint me, but that's my fault for expecting anything in the first place. EDIT: Yes, sometimes the only thing we can console ourselves with at the end of the day is that we gave it our all and if that wasn't good enough, well it's tough isn't it? To know your best was not enough. That hurts deeply. However, it also gives you a chance to look in the mirror and say "Hey, I gave 100%. I gave my all. I left no stone unturned. I pushed with all my might. I loved with every fiber of my being and if that was not good enough, then may be it's not me. Maybe we just are not right or maybe this situation wasn't for me." It doesn't have to be love...I am personally thinking about work. I have had jobs where I worked 16 hour days and it wasn't enough. They wanted me to work against labor laws, triple shifts and no over time...you find out in a hurry that you might love the idea of working there, but it's literally sucking the life out of you.
