I always "unshrink" my cotton, rayon, cotton blend etc. clothes. I wash them cold and dry them on medium and if they shrink I dip them into my sink ful of just warm water and then hang them on my hanger from my shower rod and pull them gently and reshaped them that way. I push the item behind the shower curtain and let them drip. Later on I pull on them and see what else they need to be the length I need them to be and let them dry there. I have clothes that I have to do this process to just because they twist and are not fitting the right way, you know the sleeves or sometimes a legging leg etc. I hate when the seam is all twisted. I never use anythink other than warm water. It always works but it never works on jeans and like the lady said it doesn't work on wool. I saw a product on TV once, a solution, that worked to unshrink wool by softening and relaxing the wool fibers. I'm not sure how is called.
Hello Jillee, I have a polar/fleece sweater too small for me, is it ok to use the same procedure and baby product for this specific material ? Thank you
Hey Jillee, I have a question. Do you know what a good substitute for baby shampoo and conditioner? Could i use vinegar?

A tip for wool sweaters if they shrunk. Plunge them into very (very) hot water and when (very) wet grab it by the collar swing up and down (while hot) until the size you want. Then, while it's very wet and heavy (from the water) hang them and let the water weight do the rest. My mom done it a lot o f times and it works. Hope you like the tip and it helps.
How hot is 'very (very)' hot? And I thought that heat was the reason for shrinking in the first place? Or is that only once it dries or is spun? Does the high heat momentarily loosen the fibers? And as for swinging, I worry that it would unevenly stretch, more where I'm holding on to it. And how would it affect the sleeves? Thanks.
I just put it on and take a hot shower lol bonus points if you wear it for the rest of the day, frequently pulling and stretching it in all directions as it dries
i used my bath and body work shower Gel and it worked like a charm! Now my shirt is back to its normal size, and it smells fantastic. This video is a lifesaver. TIP: When you stretch it out its easier to do it when its soaking wet then take the moisture out, than the other way around (:
Guys I tried this with my Nike sweatpants, and it worked amazing. It worked like a charm. I didn't use baby shampoo, I used regular conditioner. I'm really happy. Reply if you have any questions, I'll answer back. Thank you lady.
+Christian Ramirez thanks for your great review! Really appreciate it. A friend of mine just saved her favorite wool skirt using this as well! It really is amazing. :-D
This is a quick way but if you happen to have washed your clothes, take them out as they are out of the washing machine without drying them. Stretch them out at the edges you want. Make sure the garment is still wet but not too wet. This has always worked for me. Your idea is very helpful though
It worked! I rubbed baby shampoo all over, let it sink in for a minute, rinsed it all off and while slightly damp, did my stretching exercises and holy moly - guess what? I grew five inches!!
Thank you! I shrunk the shirt I was planning to wear for family pictures the night before the pictures were scheduled. Did this as a last ditch effort, and IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! Omg I was in tears!
Okay the shirt is now dry and still shrunk. It looked bigger but when I tried it on it's the same. =( Edit: I figured something out. Forget the water and all the hrs of waiting for your shirt to dry. Just slide your arms up your shirt into the sleeves and make a vigorous outward motion like a bird trying to flap it's wings. Rotate the shirt to do the same thing to unshrink the stomach and back. It works if you yank the neck as well. Don't go to crazy because you could rip your shirt. Not sure how that applies to other types of clothing though.
OMG THANK YOUUUUU!! I how a twenty one pilot shirt and it was expensive and it shrunk in the dryer and I tried this and it saved me!!! Thank u even tho I'm 2 year late :3
+wajietaus I watched a few videos about unshrinking wool. I haven't tried it, but the video says to wash in hair conditoner. Wool is essentially hair, so it won't hurt it. Don't rinse it out. stretch back to shape. You may have to put something heavy in areas to hold the shape. If you don't get big enough the first time, try again. Good Luck!
@@danihu03 you understand that baby shampoo and conditioner are just about the same right? what you just said is just what she said not to do with wool. you see once wool has shrunk it gets felted. there`s nothing to do about that so please avoid handing out false tips!
I just bought a brand new beautiful Rayon blouse, My husband got to it before I had a chance to get to the laundry. He also shrunk a wool cap he bought me in Ireland. To about baby size...LOL! I love my husband and I appreciate all his hard work. Thank goodness I found your video!
My expebsive linen curtain after wash has been shrinked 3 inches. I felt very upset about it. Then I washed your video. I tried your method, amazingly it saved my curtain, it went back to previous lenth ( before wash). Instead of using baby shampoo, I used conditioner. Thanks so much for your video. Fantastic!
Thank you so much. I just got myself out of a lecture. I took a sweater from my older sister and threw it into the dryer unknowingly. This tip worked great!
Do we have to rinse out the baby shampoo out? I read in the comments about someone asking that too, but I'm wondering if having baby shampoo in the clothing is going to do anything to it after it dries.
I've done this for years, you can just throw the garment in the washer as usual and let it go through all the cyles, take the garment out and do the tugging.
I just found out you can use fabric softener or hair conditioners if you don't have baby shampoo. I actually think they're better than baby shampoo. They also relax fabric..
I recently bought a shirt from PacSun it was 100% percent cotton my mom ended up throwing it in the dryer and it got like 6 inches short! So I went online found her I used her method but I used conditioner. It worked ! I stretched a lot cause I wanted it bigger and it's perfect!
I tired this on four of my shirts,it worked fine for me. I used the baby shampoo and lukewarm water, soaked the shirts for about 15 mins, then gently squeezed the shirt to remove the moisture, used the two towels to gently pulled the shirt as mentioned in the video. I have one question, can I now iron them now and wear them or should I wash them again and wear them? and one more thing is it better to give these to cleaners outside or should I hand wash them at home?

I tried it and found out about you after you've stretched your clothes , wait until they are nearly dry and takes on the item, you can strech it to fit your body just the way you want them to. i ledt ihe item on for drying, and it ended up perfect :)
Since the comments are repeated stuff and I can't find the "it worked thank you" or the "this blew my house up" comments. How has it worked for people that have done it?
I accidentally washed a rayon dress. As soon as I took it out of the washer, it was completely wrinkled, so I took out the excess water and then ironed it to "smooth" and "stretch" it out. Have I wrecked it, seeing as I ironed it when it was still damp? In other words, did ironing "set the fabric" so that it can no longer be stretched? This is a rayon dress that does need "ironing" because it is a silky kind of rayon. I can wait until it's dry to iron again but I will have to iron it.
Can you put the shampoo in your washing machine in the conditioner compartment, that way you can un shrink your clothes instead of using a bowl . And you can do more than one item . What ya think Mrs
What if you add a little bit of baby shampoo to the wash cycle and wash it on cold and put it in the dryer on the lowest setting? I wonder if that might fix the issue

So washing in cold water and hang drying wouldn't restore the fabric to the original length? Why baby shampoo I wonder. Did this fix her yoga pants? I wanted to see her in them, before and after.
After I succeeded to unshrink it and it’s dry, can I wash it again to get the baby shampoo out if it? Because I don’t want to walk around with baby shampoo in the garment.
I stay away from clothes that need dry-cleaning. Without looking at the garments material I bought a rayon shirt to find out it had to be dry cleaned. I decided to wash it in cold water and air dry it. It was an adult large and was half its original size out of the washing machine. It looked like a 2 year old, size , baby shirt. would this work on cashmere? or would it damage the fabric even more...
