  • This is my take on a quick polish and lap/grind on the valves for my Massey Ferguson tractor. May not be the most professional way but it gets the job done.
    Heres a link to some valve compound which can also be picked up at your local parts store for twice the price lol

    I do it a little different. Like in school we used the suction cup tool on the head of the valve. I didnt have a tool, so I bought one of those kids toy pistols that shoots the suction cup darts. Worked great lapping the valves on my Honda.

    When first cleaning up the valve, try using a piece of the fuel line over the valve step to cushion it from the chuck jaws.

      Yes that would have helped as well. I didn't tighten the jaws down very much and the valves are hardened but having a little piece of hose over the end would make it a more fool proof process. Good catch there.

    Use some oil on the stem when doing that helps prevent wear of the guides

    The bend in the carb hose seems like it would cause un even abrasions

      The valve guides keep the valve in line and perpendicular to the seat, but I understand where you could think that the bend in the hose would cause an issue though. A more flexible line would have definitely been better but this old fuel line is all I had.

    Do you do the same process for all the valves or just the leaking ones?

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  3 роки тому +1

      I did it for all and then double checked for peaks afterwards. Most of the valves on this head leaked pretty bad.

      @@BCDriven so even if you have one valve leaking do you still have to grind all the valves?

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  3 роки тому +1

      @@faridbakhshian221 no you dont have to. I was just saying I did. If its only 1 valve I probably would only do the one that is leaking.
