Fair warning: I mostly post instagram stories about my dogs and cats.
I also love that Clue was filmed and released with three different endings. Different audiences going to see it would see one of the three, making people confused when talking about it if they hadn't seen the same ending. It is a very funny murder mystery film
I love that! I had no idea it was released that way. I have seen all three endings on the dvd but that is such a cool fact.
I absolutely love, love, love 'Only murders in the building'! It's a perfect cosy murder series. And every time I watch it I desperately want to buy every item of clothing in Mabels wardrobe 🥰🧡
Omg SAME!! I love her style so much!!!
❤❤❤
I love cozy mystery television series; I recently in the past few years started watching British and Australian cozy mysteries. I would recommend Agatha Raisin, Queens of Mystery, My Life is Murder, Harry Wilds and Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries on Acorn TV. Then there is BritBox with shows like Shakespeare & Hathaway, McDonald & Dodds, Sister Boniface Mysteries, and Death in Paradise.
I’m an Aussie, so I’m biased, but Ns. Fisher is a brilliant TV show
I'd add the original Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries series, both the books and the TV show. Set in 1920s Australia.
I’ve seen most of these. Also love Father Brown.
I love that cozy mysteries are starting to get love on booktube!
I would recommend Miss Marple series of Agatha Christie as well. For me it was always the cosier read as the events happen in this cute English village😊 and Miss Marple herself is so precious.
☕️ For me it’s Agatha Christie. I love that it’s usually behind closed doors, and that makes it cozy!
Agatha christie Evil Under the Sun is also amazing. Shes my all time favourite author. I love her writing style !
☕ Only Murders in the Building is great. I like the modified version with David Suchet of Agatha Christie's "Hallowe'en Party." The ambience is amazing with so many pumpkins. I like the ending much better than the book ending. ocus 1&2 make meI like "Arsenic and Old Lace" with Cary grant who usually makes me laugh pretty hard. The Ghost and Ms. Muir for slightly but (not really) spooky romantic ambience. And of course Hocus Pocus 1&2 are hilarious. Those ladies have such great comedic timing.
The 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn hardcastle was so good and so cozy and just different in a good way! You’ll love it!
When I was young, I read “The Westing Game” for school and it immediately became my favorite book. While watching your bookshelf reorganization video I saw you had a copy of it in one of your stacks, which inspired me to revisit it a few weeks ago. I can honestly say it was just as fun reading it as an adult as it was a kid. It is a 10/10 recommendation from me for anyone who is lucky enough to have not read it yet! ☕️
I keep meaning to read that one! :)
I love cozy mysteries! I would suggest the Aunt Dimity cozy mystery book series. I am also a huge fan of Agatha Christie and would suggest the BBC series Miss Marple, both the newer and older versions, and any David Suchet Poirot episode as well, they are all amazing. Thank for all the wonderful suggestions! 😊📚
These are really good as audiobooks as well. They are read in a crisp, Bristish accent. Love Aunt Dimity and Reginald 💜
Yes, I feel like Agatha Christie is the OG cozy murder mystery author! And I love the Miss Marple episodes with Joan Hickson and the Poirot episodes with David Suchet.
Mornings are for coffee and contemplation... And Lexi's autumn videos ☕ 🍂 🎃
🥹❤️❤️❤️
I was so excited to find your channel!! I love cozy mysteries and he watched them for awhile. Father Brown mysteries and ones like that. I am always looking for good mysteries to read. Thank you!! ☕
I could watch Clue a million times and never get tired of it. The cast is phenomenal!! The Thursday Murder Club trilogy is so much fun. I can't wait for the movie! 🎃🖤👻🧡
Clue was one of the movies my son and I did watch a million times!
@@24sherbear 🧡🖤🧡🖤
You are going to love Evelyn Hardcastle, and the plot twist at the end is totally unique. ☕️
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was really unique and is definitely great autumn vibes. Currently reading Babel because ya girl loves dark academia ☕️
I'm SO excited to start Babel. I want to finish with my Halloween books first. I just dyed my hair a chocolate brown and got some gold rimmed glasses. I now have the ideology "If it's not dark academia, I don't want it" haha
I agree that nothing says fall like snuggling up with a murder mystery & a cup of coffee! ☕😊
Two of my favourite cozy mystery authors are Joanne Fluke and Laura Childs. Joanne's Hannah Swenson series is great, Hannah is a baker, owns her own cookie shop. I love the recipes that are always included.
Laura Childs has a few series, but the two I like ate The Scrapbooking Mysteries set in New Orleans. The main character owns a craft shop, her best friend owns a voodoo shop. There are recipes but also crafting tips. The other series is The Teashop Mysteries set in Charleston. As the name suggests the main character owns a Teashop. Again there are recipes but also tips on how to throw different types of tea parties.
I honestly believe you can not go wrong reading these books.
The best murder mystery cozy movie is The Thin Man with Myrna Loy and William Powell. It takes about 15 minutes....so fun, funny, and many actors and actresses favorite movies of all time. Classic
Yes! I'm obsessed with the Thin Man Series!
Antony Horowitz is still my go-to for murder mysteries (cosy and others). Funnily enough, when I was a child, he wrote children's books, but now mostly writes murder mysteries. He has also written several episodes for Midsummer Murders and is a great crime writer in the style of Agatha Christie.
Absolutely love the recommendations. And Then There Were None is one of my favorite spine chilling book. You should definitely check out the show called 'Infinity Train'.
Oh I absolutely love cosy mysteries (in all forms).
Lexi I am loving your videos with recommendations for books but also movies, shows etc. You really do bring the best vibes to the suggestions. 🍂🎃
I read a variety of books but cozy mysteries are my favorite. I enjoyed Clue, Murder On The Orient Express and And Then There Were None. Currently reading Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie.
I loved this video! I am a HUGE cozy mystery fan so these were right up my alley! Thank you!
Loved this video so much! ☕ One of my favorite comfort reads is a cozy mystery series called The Tea Shop Series by Laura Childs. It follows a woman who owns a tea shop in the historic district of Charleston, SC - and she's a bit of an amateur sleuth! 🕵️♀️ It's super cozy and atmospheric! I've been reading these books for almost 15 years!
I lived in Charleston for many years❤ I will have to check this series out!
Love this, so many movies/series AND books I want to get into!! ☕️🧡
I recommend “See How They Run” for cozy mystery movies, it’s similar to “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. Another movie that’s about to come out that seems cozy and is a who dunnit is “Amsterdam”. 🥰
to me the books of Agatha christie that are really cozy are the mr. marple's books
they are perfect cozy vibe
Excellent recommendations! Love all the coziness. If you love Agatha Christie try Who Killed Roger Ackroyd...even my kids liked that one. 🎃✨☺
☕️ So many great choices here!
Why Didn’t They Ask Evans is written and directed by Hugh Laurie. So good.
Gosford Park has such a fantastic cast. Very underrated.
The Thursday Murder Club is wonderful. Book 2 is even better. I can’t wait to read the third one that just came out. I love that the older characters have rich inner lives. They didn’t stop being who they are just because others saw them differently when they got older.
☕️ thank you for more good recommendations. Enjoy your videos
Thank you for the recommendations ☕️
Clue is an annual watch for me around Halloween! 7 1/2 Deaths is one of the most amazing murder mysteries ever. Absolutely brilliant. I throughly enjoyed the Scandalous Sisterhood-it was an excellent audiobook! Thursday Murder Club is wonderful and light and there’s two more already in the series!
I freakin' love Clue. Also, my first-choice board game. I have Golden Girls Clue and you try to figure out who ate the last piece of cheesecake. So there's no murder if you are playing with kiddos and, I mean... Golden Girls. ♥☕
I adore the Shady Hollow series. I read all three books this month. Super cozy! ☕️
Hiiiiiii lexi !!!!! The most anticipated video !! Tysm for posting !!! Love you so much your style and your vibes !!!! Will surely read and watch all of them !!! Mystery is my fav genre special thanks for this video !! You are an icon 🥺❣️
Omg Safia you always say the sweetest things thank you!!❤❤❤
I discovered and fell in love with cozy mysteries just last year. I am obsessed now, so this video has been wonderful and has allowed me to add so many things to watch/read to my list. Thank you, Lexie☕🧡
Only Murders in the Building is one of my favorite TV shows, so I've been looking for book recommandations that give me the same feeling. I'll have to check out the books on your TBR, they all sound so good!
I’m so glad you also love that show!! It’s so cozy!!
Same!
Thank you so much for all the fabulous recommendations that I haven’t already heard of. Going to start looking for some of those books now and get my cozy on. ☺️☕️
Omg your mug is EVERYTHING!!!! I've also added literally all the movies/series you mentioned because they all sounded fantastic.
I have had The Murder on the Orient Express on my shelf for over a year and I feel like I NEED to read it, since she's THE QUEEN of murder mysteries. ☕☕☕
“Pumpkins and poltergeists” by Nyx Halliwell
“Curse of the day” by Annabel Chase
“Southern Magic” by Amy Broyles
“Happily Haunted Afters” Brittany Kelley
I just ordered a few more I’m so excited! Cozy Mystery is new to me and I’m definitely obsessed but I’ve always loves the cozy mystery old movies! Cary Grant is one of my favorite actors of the black and white movies. One of my favorites is “Arsenic and old laces” with Cary Grant it’s so fun! Watch that one 😊
The Finlay Donovan series is the best!! Probably my favorite series I’ve read this year 🤗 ☕️
thank you of the original ideas! i've already found quite some books and movies that i'd like to read and watch very soon!
You should add the film "See How They Run" to your cozy mystery movie list. It's new, came out in September
I am so glad I came across your video! I've recently really gotten into Cozy Mysteries and this timing is serendipitous for me. I will be checking out ALL of your recommendations! Thank You!
☕️Omg I feel like I need to rewatch Knives Out and Enola Homes before their sequels come out! I also loved those two Agatha Christie books and am wondering which would be good to read next- she has so many books!
Hey, Lexi! I just wanted to thank you for having created Foxenwood ❤❤❤
Amanda Flower also has a series called An Amish Candy Shop Mystery. The audio is good, the characters are a hoot, there is a little (very very very little) romance aspect, and most books feature a super lovable pig. The mysteries are well though out. If you want to guess who dunnit, you can, but I read/listen for the enjoyment of watching the amateurs figure it all out. My local library has the audio and print versions, so no money spent! Win-Win.
always love your videos girlie. have a beautiful day. You will Love the Shady Hollow Series its the perfect autumnal book! ☕☕☕
I've read all but two of the books on your TBR list, and they were all good. You have some great reading to look forward to!
Clue is the best! It's my favourite boardgame too.
I enjoyed The Afterparty on Apple TV+ too.
Gosford Park is also great!
Great selections for both tv/film & books!
I binge read/listened to The Inheritance Games & Hawthorne Legacy, and ordered all 3 books when The Final Gambit dropped. ☕️
If nothing else I am hooked on all your recommendations. Have read many already. Have others on shelf to be read 📚 and am always looking for other good reads. ☕️ and or tea 🍵 go well with reading 📚 always. A scone
Or cookie 🍪 is always good too! I appreciate 🙏🏻 💛 you so much!
This is my first time seeing any of your vids. Your recommendations look amazing.
One that I would add to list would be the Southern Sisters series by Anne George. It focuses on a pair of sisters that are that are in many ways opposites, yet together they keep ending up working as a team to solve mysteries. Anne George was an English teacher for many years and the books really reflect her skill and talent :) ☕️
I’d also add the two recent remakes of Agatha Christie movies - Murder on the Orient Express and Murder on the Nile!
Great recommendations in this video! Thank you!
Halloween Party by Agatha Christie is perfect for this time of year
You're like, really pretty.
Also, I'm 1000% here for all these recs! Thank you for sharing!
For The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, I highly suggest reading it with the physical book and the audiobook.
Thanks for the recommendations ! If you love cozy mysteries and knitting then I'd suggest Maggie Sefton, Monica Ferris, Sally Goldenbaum. I love a crafty mystery.
Most of these books were already on my TBR but I just added Crime and Poetry to it. It sounds so good! ☕
Ive been so excited for this! I loved Thursday Murder Club and Shady Hollow sounds awesome 😅 ☕️
I love cozy mystery’s! Thx for the video. One of my favourite shows is Shetland.
Stumbled upon your video. Went out and bought Finlay Donovan. Thanks for the recommendations!
Lexi, I just finished For Your Own Good, and I loved it, haha. That was such a debacle, and I've never read more petulant characters which I was totally living for. I was amused the entire read, and that's not what I expected regarding murder, but here we are exposing my dark humor. I'm with you on the funny murder mysteries. Thanks so much for the great recs! ☕
I loved the movies Clue and Knives Out, they were so much fun to watch. I have read Finlay Donavan is Killing It earlier this year and I thought it was awesome. I could not put it down. I am hoping to read book 2 over the holidays. I absolutely love The Inheritance Games. I just started book 3 today. I can't wait to see how this series wraps up. I have Crime and Poetry and The Secret Book and Scone Society in my TBR stack. So many great books to read right now, I am going to need a very large mug for my tea so I can read to my hearts content. ☕
The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place is perfect! Gives a great mix of dark humor along with the mystery vibes.
I watched Knives Out and got Agatha Christie books vibe and i love it
This list is so fun. I'm excited to read some of these : Knives Out, Enola Holmes, Greenglass House, Finlay Donovan Is, The Secret Book and Scone Society. Thank you!
☕️ Thank you for the recommendations! I'm putting The Secret Book & Scone Society on hold - sounds so good! I also am interested in some Ellie Alexander cozies set in my "neck of the woods". 💕 Thank you for another lovely video!
Garlic and the Vampire by Bree Paulsen is a MUST-read. Thanks for the suggestions...I've put several on hold at the library and some are already in my TBR :0)
Probably the cutest thing I've read this year!!!
Love your video I want to get in the company of witches sound right up my alley for cozy autumn read💕💕🍵🍵
I loved Knives Out! Also I picked up In the Company of Witches from the library. I hoping to read it this week. I really enjoyed this video as I do all your videos. ☕❤🍁
All three of the Thursday murder club books are AMAZING! The first 2 audiobooks are wonderful. They changed the narrator and I read the last in hardcover because I don't like the new narrator but the books are so funny and well written.
My favorite cozy mystery is right up your alley Lexi! I love the Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren. Get series set in Oxford. There is a spin off of it Vampire books club and Vampire knitting club Cornwall. I can't wait to start the bookclub one.
can’t wait for Enola Holmes 2!!!!! 😁👏🏻
Hi Lexi! Great video! I love Knives Out and Only Murders in the Building! All your recommendations are on point! I want to read them all!🧡☕️
Omg! I love the Secret Book and Scone Society!!! Such a cozy book. I’ve never heard anyone talk about it! Excited to see if you like it. ☕️
What a delicious list! Personally, I found by chance on amazon kindle: Murder on Deck 9 by Lorenzo Pagani:
This is a classic murder mystery in the old school "Agatha Christie" sense. The author does a great job of pulling you in, keeping the pages turning even as your mind is simultaneously processing the new information and trying to figure out "whodunnit?" The Swiss detective remembered me a lot Poirot!
I adore cozy mysteries, Knives Out, Only Murders in the Building! ALL of it. But especially Enola Holmes
Love all the movie/tv series recs! Steve Martin and Martin Short are an awesome duo! They were fantastic in Father of the Bride:) The Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr are also great!
☕️
Loved The Shady Hollow Mysteries! Loved Knives Out! Agatha Christie is the Queen of Crime hands down & some of these are definitely getting added to my list.
If you are enjoying Agatha Christie you should try Georgette Heyer mysteries. Envious Casca/the Christmas party is set at (surprise surprise) Christmas and has super cozy vibes!
I loved this! I am a fan of cozy mysteries myself and still found some new ones to add to my TBR
My favorite series I’ve read is the Coffeeshop mystery series by Cleo Coyle. Perfect for a coffee lover 😉
If you’re looking for a unique Cozy Murder Mystery, if you hadn’t already read or seen it, I got this fun one called Shady Hollow by Juneau Black. There’s 3 books in the series so far and it’s basically if you had Agatha Christie write a spin-off series for The Wind In The Willows world. A lady fox reporter investigates the murder of a cranky old toad and discovers SO MUCH small town secret- HOLY SHOOT, I WAS JUST TALKIN ABOUT THAT!!! Sorry I didn’t wait till you was done talkin, I just really love it so far and I been dying to share it. ☕️
☕️ Love your recommendations. Can’t wait to get my coffee and enjoy a good murder mystery.
OMGosh I just discovered your channel and I love it!!! I love cozy mysterious too!!! My obsession started with the A Magical Bakery Mystery by Bailey Cates. I was hooked immediately. By the by, I love your intro!! Did you create it yourself or did you find it somewhere? I've been looking for a great intro for my friends digital planning channel and I love the whimsy of yours. Thanks :)
Yes!! The Secret Book and Scone Society! I started a book club with my best friends 2 years ago (The Secret society of books and wine. We'd video chat with glasses of wine once a month to talk about our monthly book) and this was the first book I picked. Have you read any Paula Brackston?!?! Her found things series is SO good. Ghost, romance, magic, time traveling, mystery. I've never played the original Clue but I do have the Downton Abbey clue. I'm excited to add some of these movies/shows/books to my to do list for November. Thank you for this video!!!
☕️ Just got home from dog sitting and this is the best way to relax!!
One of my favorite cozy murder mysterious is The Westing Game. Still one of my favorite books from when I was in middle school.
Please check out the Father Brown series, it is such a cozy and lovable mystery series (BBC did them, I believe).
Also I think you’d love the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley
I’m super excited to read all of these recs! I really enjoy all the movies you recommended so I think I’ll really like the books 📚 ☕️
☕ I have both The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place on my tbr as well. And I'm actually planning to watch Only Murders In The Building next week, I'll probably binge the whole series! 😍🍂
This is the most exciting video I've seen in forever! I have so many thoughts, lol. I am so, so eager to read that Ellery Adams book, as well! Also, The Thursday Murder Club! Anddd, I agree that you will probably enjoy "The 7 1/2 Deaths..." and I think it's great for fall.
I actually don't think this is the most super fall-ish book, but now that I know Olivia is trying to convince you to read this series, I would like to hop on board that train and I am going to continuously recommend that you read A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn!
Loved this! 7 ½ Deaths was a great audible book. The Thursday Murder Club is also a great audible. I am also just about done with the Haunting od Aveline Jones by Phil Hickes and it is a great middle grade spooky read! Starting In the Co of Witches next as per your recommendation!
These sound like such fun suggestions! And I absolutely love Clue! One of my favorites :)
omgosh! ty for doing this video! I have a cozy mystery channel, and it's always awesome to see bigger channels talking about cozies! ty!!
I LOVE them so much!
clue is one of my favorites! I have season tickets to a theatre near me, and the last show of this season in June is Clue...I CAN"T WAIT!!
I wanted to give you a couple of really funny cozies:
Miss.fortune series by Jana Deleon
Sophie Kimball by J.C. Eaton
Poppy McAllister by Libby Klein
Jaine Austen by Laura Levine (funniest, but humor is not for everyone-can be very self deprecating)
I LOVE Amanda Flower and Ellery Adams!
☕☕☕☕☕☕
☕️ Such a cute video Lexi. Thanks for sharing!
☕ I love cozy mysteries too!!
My local bookstore lets you put books on hold and then pay on collections and you better believe my daughter and I are going to tuck into greenglass house once we’re done with our current read ❤thank you!
And I bought in the company of witches for the kindle because I couldn’t find it otherwise
Lexi, your videos make my days everytime ☕ I absolutely love your energy, you have a very magical soul and I think the book community agrees with me when I say you're a light to us 🍂🧡thank you!!
Only murder in the building omg love this show! 🎃🍂🍁🍁🍁🎃👻👻👻🎃📖📖📖🍃📚🍃📖🍁📙🍂🎃👻👻👻👻👻🍂📙🍁🍁🎃👻👻🎃📖🍃🍃🍃🍃🍁📙🎃👻👻
Since I know you love hats and are starting to get more into cozy mysteries I think you will like the Hat shop mystery series by Jenn McKinlay first book is named cloche and Dagger. Jenn McKinlay also has a library series and the first book is books can be deceiving! I couldn’t put down the hat shop series and I’m just now starting the library series!
