That's smart I had never thought about just using a flat plane.... I have a big metal shop table that I could use to do this with and just scoot the head back and forth why have I not thought of this...
What needs to be done inside the car before taking anything loose under it? If I drop the engine are all the lines easy to get to? Great video..Oh BTW.. any special tools needed or will a regular metric set work?
its not a lot in the car you have to unhook the ecm in the back right corner of car inside you have to cut the hose clamps off if they had never been replace but just replace them with hose clamps no special tools
I've replaced my engine in my smart twice, this isn't fun. First engine had no 2nd cylinder, second engine starts and runs fine no codes or anything but overheats and blows out the coolant out of the reservoir when the fan kicks in/out, think it might need a head gasket or new head
I am impressed of how you were able to sand the head with out taking it to the machine shop, fantastic
Thank you.

Did you remove the oil pan?
How long does it takes to be changed?

More than likely you got a blown head gasket is it running bad
Any idea what this job would cost to have done today?
It's like 800-1200 bucks for a regular mechanic eve
