So is L the leakage inductance in your diagram? And I haven't seen a potentiometer used at the capacitive voltage divider junction like that before. what kind of potentiometer can be used there? thanks.

Exactly, L is the leakage inductance and through it we can achieve somekind like a negative feedback into the power going into the plasma [it changes with the plasma's diameter so tank loaded Q and the power also changes]. Actually I still use a typical 1k potentiometer on that board. I was thinking that if someone has a programmable power supply maybe he can just use a 'high voltage strike' to start the oscillation then quickly go back to 1-2 or even 0V according to the aimed power level. 😂

@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 yeah a arc striking function in the power supply would be ideal. I think the secret lies in that solid state icp generator board that you salvaged a while back

@@BackMacSci Actually I have seen the whole instrument several months ago and I noticed that they utilized a small spark generator which is basically the same as a 'Tesla coil' to initiate the plasma. Other ICP machines may also use a graphite rod which will be heated with low power RF at first, then if you increase the RF level the hot graphite can ignite the plasma. Maybe you still remember the 2 relays which I mentioned in that previous video, they switches the 1nF capacitor to match the impedance for helping igniting the plasma.

I have relatives there and I will work there in the coming days. Also, I have many Thai friends so the SUB is added for them.

@@uecmitsuimarinedieselengin873 Ok brother, best of luck.
if possible pls do some marine engineering video too, like u did before. We will be benefited from you.
      Best regards,💐
