@@StFidjnr Yeah at that point Mark's only hope was that Paul made a mistake on The Balance Beam or The Travelator and unfortunately for him Paul didn't make any mistakes
@@Tubewings I should have been clearer. Was the ashes final the very last episode of the first version of the show in Australia? I know it came back in 2008.
@@martynlawrence3609 It's the last confirmed episode to air for the inaugural Australian series (I don't know what the dates were for the Austraian-Russian mini-series, if they aired at all).
@@martynlawrence3609 Apparently there were plans for Ashes 3 back in Brisbane but Seven cancelled the show. The UK domestic show went on for another 4-5 years.
Mark was probably gutted at the end as if he'd had a 5 second lead had he not blown it on hang tough he may have won but was always going to struggle once he was head to head with Paul. To add to it he probably expected to get 10 on Pendulum as well while Paul beating Saracen on hang tough was an upset. Neither this or the UK one showed that Mark fell down the travelator which is why he was standing around for so long after Paul won.
Real low of Channel 7 to cancel the most popular show of Australian TV of it's time, just because viewing figures were falling and the costs of keeping it going were rising!
Rhino and Ace probably weren't needed as Hunter was probably better at Rhino at duel so they wanted to give the UK at the best chance possible lol. Ace could have done pendulum instead of Saracen but meh. Tower may have got an injury at some point as it seemed weird that Condor did Duel instead of him in the 2nd heat, not sure what Tower would have done in the final as Vulcan was doing Duel and Condor was always gonna do the wall and pendulum
@user-sb2tb9oe7d yeah just always wondered because tower is back for the series against Russia but I just notice even during the celebrations he is nowhere to be seen
It would make sense Tower not being in the final as they tried having the best gladiators for the events in the final so condor and taipan were better set up for the agility events. Tower not doing duel in the 2nd heat does suggest he may have hurt himself in gauntlet or powerball somehow
@@someguy7775 Vulcan did Duel in the 1st heat, Powerball and gauntlet in the 2nd and duel in the final while Tower only did Powerball in the 1st heat and gauntlet in the 2nd. Condor on the other hand did pendulum and Powerball in the 1st heat, skytrak, gauntlet and duel in the 2nd heat and pendulum and the wall in the final. So Tower doing duel instead of Condor in the 2nd heat would make sense unless Tower had an injury
Paul, you’re a champion!
It was cool seeing the Aussie Gladiator celebrating at the end. Even Vulcan hugging Paul.
A brand new series of Gladiators is coming around the world. Hopefully it'll go far enough for a new Ashes series, after more than 25 years!
Recorded in the UK. Thank you, UA-cam!
Glad that Marissa and Catherine finally got to face off in an eliminator.
unlike e03 ep15 which had an anticlimax this one was a classic
Yeah was the unofficial decider tho Catherine had her shoulder strapped so I wonder how close we came to it not happening again
You hear Catherine Scream “No” when she dropped of the beam.
Paul was like Sonic The Hedgehog on the Eliminator would've like to have seen him & 2 Scoops race against each other, that would be a great match
he's like Drag racer Warren Johnson when he is 1st to the top of the cargo net you're in trouble and Mark was in trouble
@@StFidjnr Yeah at that point Mark's only hope was that Paul made a mistake on The Balance Beam or The Travelator and unfortunately for him Paul didn't make any mistakes
Just like the Americans the previous year in the International series, the Australians go out on a high note by winning the Ashes.
Was this the legend episode of the original version?
@@martynlawrence3609 I beg your pardon?

I wish we get to see more of Laser 31:32 she is a great gladiator. What happened to her? We saw her as a South Africa Sheena in Springbok?
Supershow 90

The last episode ever until 2008.
There was the aus v Russia series tho it may bot have been aired
Mark taking his sweet time after Paul won, lol.
He'd fell down the travelator which the UK one edited out and the Aussie version didn't show as they showed Paul celebrating lol
I also noticed he was doing up his shoelaces too. Was that from when he fell down the travelator?
Bit low to cancel the show to stop UK winning back the Ashes! ;)

At 48:33, it looked to me as if Marisa touched the static part of the Travelator, but I could be completely wrong.
She did, but I don't think she used it for help otherwise the referee would've blown the whistle & stopped The Eliminator
Sort of thing an Australian would do so went unnoticed
What’s the name of the British female host?
Ulrika Jonsson
paul in pendulum 2 games 2 max points
Tower not in this one nor are rhino and ace for the uk interesting?

All these years later i still dislike Marissa.
