I can’t say if it’s true or not because I haven’t seen any real proof, but supposedly Twitch got a bit of kick back from some of the companies they advertise for. That would explain why the acted so quickly though.

Many people claim for example that posting loli hentai is ok because its drawn and yet according to DOJ distribution of drawn depiction of minors involved in sexual explicit scenarios is illegal punishable by 2 years jail sentence. If you get reported for it you will have to convince the judge that drawn 6 year old is actually 5000 year old vampire but considering most judges are not degens... yeah... you should never risk it... before posting always consult with people who know this stuff even if TOS allows you... for example many finance companies consider embezzlement and ponzi schemes to be something normal even when its illegal just in the past few years we saw huge companies being brought down because illegal activity was promoted as something "normal".

nah this was mostly on a couple vtubers and atists who crossed the line and incited a hate mob that mass reported anything they didnt like. its mostly a "fuck around and find out" situation that got a lot of unrelated people dragged into it.

Then artists got suspended even though most were within the new TOS. Twitch reversed these changes on friday and removed most of the suspensions.

I’m not concerned about “modesty” I’m more so concerned about what underage kids saw who lied in their account to get on twitch The minimum age is known to be 13… I don’t get why they made that rule without any warning and why so many creators on twitch caved in when it’s known what the age is just to compete in a market. No one was doing it for genuine art reasons, they puts tits on the thumbnail for the stream as a whole which shows that it wasn’t for art. It’s honestly fucked up as a whole. Showing that stuff to a kid is far worse than getting drowned out even if it was somehow still going to be allowed. The moral implications of making that decision is already fucked up. It’s just exploitation of a person’s sexual desire in itself is kind of shaky but it’s their choice. The problem comes when it’s a site promoted not to be exclusively 18+ and that’s when kids are very vulnerable to influences of addiction which would include porn addiction and manipulating this policy for some money is fucked up. The people on the site weren’t warned, the parents of underage kids weren’t warned in any capacity, and the streamers just exploited the change in a very bad way.
