I see a really big improvement, no more massive oversharpening in videos. This is a huge improvement for me. The 8k looks so choppy and oversharpened on the Galaxy S22 but on the Galaxy s23 it looks amazing. Thank you for doing these tests
Night shots look better on the S23 in terms of colour but for day shots I actually preferred the S22, including zoom and portraits. The S23 completely missed blurring the background at 7:39 At 6:33, that lamp looks more natural on the S22 and the scooter's back wheel looks better too, on the S22

I has s22 for more than 1 year and recently bought s23. I do confirm that S23 picture and video capabilities are much worse and don't know why that issue is not well known and brought into light.. very dissatisfied with the phone and am going to sell it and buy an s22 ror s22 ultra. My s23 videos are too bright, blurry and lack detail especially in areas that are out of the main focus. I even tested s23 ultra and it is a bit better but still worse than regular S22! Samsung made a huge fail here , don't know if users are blind or anything. If you've had the previous model, there is no way you cannot see the downgrade.
Check s22 exynos vs Snapdragon. Exynos might be worse in Terms of battery, Heat etc but i find exynos much better for Video and Photo quality than the Snapdragon Variant. Maybe thats why the exynos Variant s22 Looks even better than the s23 with Snapdragon.
Samsung is gonna reduce the camera quality on the s22 so that the s23 is gonna look better. They have been caught doing that. Same like iphone. Everytime there's a new iphone they will reduce the previous iphone's capabilities.
Daytime pics and overall videos S23 is definitely better. Shadow details and sharpness are better. Nightime pics there is a wierd hue to all S23 pics that I didn't like. Hoping samsung fix that eventually. S22 had 1 yr time to get camera updates so S23 being better in most areas from get go is good sign.

Similarly, photos in night mode with the main sensor are more detailed on the S22. In selfie photo-video too, the details are better on the S23 but the colors are not good. On the other hand, in rear video, the S23 is really better, in terms of detail but above all stabilization and fluidity, it seems that Samsung has increased its bit-rate in video and that's really great. I think the color and detail issues can and will be fixed with updates. 🙏🏽
The s23+ videos are definitely smoother, has more saturation, a warmer color, and much better stabilization. As a blogger who likes to record a lot of videos during vacations, stabilization is very important to me. My s22+ videos have a lot of issues even after several updates, it stutters, and is choppy especially during movement and like with the horrible 22 Ultra camera, it has a blurry shake background. Definitely considering the upgrade to Galaxy S23+
Improvements are getting minimal, while prices go up maximum. My S20 FE 5G has got it all, 120hz display, Snapdragon, great camera's and MicroSD. What more do I need🤷♂️
I've been happy with my S22, and by the picture-comparisons you provided, (pictures are most important to me) to the S23, I would not "upgrade". That said, the S23 is supposed to have a brighter screen, and it's on sunny days, where the S22 screen is difficult to see, so that would be a nice improvement. I've seen reviews of the S23U where the color science change appears to be more dramatic compared to the S22U (I would say improvement), so I'm leaning towards the S23U, and I would really make use of the zoom. That said, if the P7P had a better quality build and fixed the selfie camera, I would go with it.
Yeah, me too, I will keep using S22 since I don't really see any improvement in camera department compared to predecessor, and I actually pretty satisfied with S22 camera so far, my next phone probably will be Xiaomi since they put bigger battery capacity on their compact flagship like Xiaomi 13 and this phone have really good battery life with pretty decent/good camera quality
Can you compare low light pictures without the night mode enabled? people are not often willing to stay still for 5 seconds to take a picture. Especially night shots when you are in bars or nightclubs or social situations, nightmode is not very useful then.
Honestly, I can see a big improvement! The shadow highlights video stabilisation and that 8k 30 fps is usable now in a 1-year gap that's a huge accomplishment great phone

I have pixel 7, and s23 the pixel has 10x better camera than s23. S23 camera has super, super low quality everything else is a marketing bull***ts. S23 has 3h Screen on time .....
The image in the video is better and sharper at s22. This applies to the main camera and front camera. But the photo on the selfie camera is better with s23, on the main camera you can say that too
Not a lot improvement from last year but hopefully a lot coming from the S21. I pre-ordered S23+ coming from S21 crapxynos to hopefully get better camera and battery life. Didn't wanna update to S22 as they slashed the battery size, thankfully they upped the battery size on S23.
I compared it in a shop and honestly the pics from my s21 plus where sharper and with less noise. Even the samsung guy did admit that and told me than if i wanna have a real upgrade i have to get the s23 Ultra.
@@serrael-182 Ultra is a bit too big and heavy for me, also price is a lot more expensive. Well I know the camera uses 10mpx instead cropping from the 64mpx one but a compromise I'm willing to take for the SD Gen 2.
The biggest difference is on 8k video where S23 is 100x better - no oversharpening, much more details, much better look. The wide camera has better geometry now - straight lines are not so curved. It's looking better now. The nighttime pictures also show much more little details in the leaves on the trees and the grass where S22 is oversharpening and looking more artificial. The portrait mode is much worse on S23 unfortunately - I hope it will be fixed in the update. But I wish they won't re-introduce the crazy oversharpening on the nighttime pictures and 8k video because it's looking great and natural in this version of the software. The rest of the situations are equal on both phones - almost no real difference.
if they add the over sharpening I'm never gonna buy Samsung ever again, i dont even know why they do that... it makes the videos on a s22 look very non professional and you can blatantly notice that it has been taken on a mobile phone
Dunno , at times the s22 looks better to me , it appears more contrasty and less soft in some shots , , but it also does have some areas in the same shots where clearly the 23 is a tiny bit better , its a bit of a mish mash id say , if i was a 22 owner , i would be somewhat dubious about buying a new phone for such incremental improvement. Edit : at 7.30 the 23 shot looks noisy , and both still suffer from lens flare something terrible , at times white balance and stabilization the 23 seems to have an edge in some instances , its just not blowing my socks off so far .

The camera on the s22 has a very bad delay. For example when you try and take a picture of someone shooting a basketball or swinging a bat.. By the time the picture snaps.. You miss it. Also, pictures of moving objects end up blurry. Do you know if this was fixed on the s23? Thank you very much!
I have the S22 and by this comparison I am not upgrading to the S23 based of the camera alone. Maybe for the processor it has, cause my S22 has an Exynos and I believe a Snapdragon Gen2 will have some improvements in terms of battery life. I don't care about the rest. Unless they also improved the speakers in the base S23 model, which I doupt. And also, at 8:00 and some other shots in the portrait mode, the S23 failed to focus with the telephoto well enough because, as you can see, even her hand, hair and everything is blury. I'm 90% certain they will fix this focus problem with an update. It is not a image processing mistake, just a focus thing. I just don't want to shame the S23 for minor things like that, whose will be fixed soon.

Something isn't right with the mic on the s22, I have one and yours you can barely hear. Strangely I prefer the s22 video, it's picking up so much more detail on the ground compared to the s23. Pictures there is not enough in it to justify changing. Some look better on one than the other. 8k certainly goes to the s23

I'm sorry but all the 4k and 8k shooting look way sharper on the s22. It's almost like the s23 is out of focus. 8k movement are more fluid on s23 though.
I don't know but the videos are less sharp on s23 in most videos, way too smooth. I definitely don't like it. Maybe it's just the yt compression. HDR seems a little better on daylight photos on s23, but nothing crazy. The colors on s23 are too warm for my taste. I'm using s22 but I'm pretty ok now that I saw this. Overall, pretty close. That new chipset is not doing that much in terms of camera and its not worth for me to upgrade. Maybe s24. PS the new look is a letdown for me
S23 is a much better device than S22 due to better battery and processor. However in camera department the evolution is almost none. Better wait until S24 for upgrade my S20FE.

According to this guy, extra sharpening applied is equal to big improvement, no wonder he preferred iphone 14 over s23. Anyway, it’s a matter of personal preference.
Both phones took great photos and videos. The s23 certainly is better overall, but I don't think there is enough improvement in camera to justify an upgrade.
S23 seems too over exposed.. that crushes the details..photos look super flashy but highlights are not handled properly and shadows are brightened up too much..

Of course need to upgrade. Biggest difference S23 is Snapdragon, but S22 exynos.

You will still have an upgrade but not camera wise. The 3x zoom is also less sharp by the way (at least on the s22)

На ваших снимках, однозначно, у S22 динамический диапазон лучше, если только вы не перепутали подписи) Резкость, наверное, стоит смотреть на полноразмерных фото и видео, так как тут на видео опять же кажется, что у S22 лучше. Единственный реальный плюс, который я увидела на ваших фото и видео, это лучшая стабилизация у S23.

If you have S22 upgrade is only worth to S23 Ultra but if you have S21 or older and want compact phone then buy S23 because of battery.

I'm sorry but all the 4k and 8k shooting look way sharper on the s22. It's almost like the s23 is out of focus.
8k movement are more fluid on s23 though.
the s23 camera absolutely kills the s22, smooth video, low sharpness, soft colors.
The SOC Is improved, the cameras not so much, anyway too much money, better go for something else for a non-content creator.

I don't know but the videos are less sharp on s23 in most videos, way too smooth. I definitely don't like it. Maybe it's just the yt compression. HDR seems a little better on daylight photos on s23, but nothing crazy. The colors on s23 are too warm for my taste. I'm using s22 but I'm pretty ok now that I saw this. Overall, pretty close. That new chipset is not doing that much in terms of camera and its not worth for me to upgrade. Maybe s24.

S23 is a much better device than S22 due to better battery and processor. However in camera department the evolution is almost none. Better wait until S24 for upgrade my S20FE.

Я сегодня 16.03.2023 обновился с S22 256gb на S23 256gb. Только несколько часов с ним, еще не перекачал все, но вижу разницу вот в чем. Камеры главные прям четче, и в реале блок камер выглядит серьёзнее покрупнее, типа афона).В S23 стал Wi-Fi 6E(было 6), батарейка 3900амп(было 3700амп), яркость дисплея 1750(было1300),проц серьезный наконец-то снапдрегон 8ген2 и батарею дольше держит, стекло мощнее, отпечаток шустрее четче, стабилизация видео другая и в 256гб версии оператива новейшая стоит в 2 раза быстрее даже чем у S23 128gb

It's always difficult to seen on a small screen on my mobile phone, nothing great differentses, but on a bigger screen perhaps 🤔 you noticed it.

Both phones took great photos and videos. The s23 certainly is better overall, but I don't think there is enough improvement in camera to justify an upgrade.
S23 seems too over exposed.. that crushes the details..photos look super flashy but highlights are not handled properly and shadows are brightened up too much..
