- This video was filmed back In May 2023… the site was still very secure then and the main gate was padlocked shut. Unfortunately due to someone posting the exact location on social media it has now fallen victim to criminals…
In 2021 the DIRECTOR of a former car salvage company was jailed over unsafe forklift trucks and structural safety at his business. He failed to comply with HSE enforcement notices served to protect the health and safety of workers and visitors to the site. The site is still completely full with cars, tools, machines as if they just got uo and walked away.. which they pretty much did! Wile we were half way through filming we were made aware of a couple of suspicious lads.. we decided to fall back and wait around to aee who they were.. but it wasn’t long before they started smashing windows and causing untold amounts of damage to the cars. We decided to keave but as we walked around to the front of the site we spotted a plolice car at the main gate!

Apparently the guy who owned the business there is in prison. Stoksy was there a month ago and found out. Yes. Typical bored kids. Nothing to do so vandalise everything.

Not worth it. Never know what kids have on them these days. 🔪Wouldn't risk the confrontation going bad over some old abandoned cars. Been a few videos on this place now so if anyone cares about vandals etc they will no doubt make it less accessible

It's a shame . But I understand colin posts loads of places up and making bank imstoke is doing his best making penny's and colin telling him to take down videos he not happy posting . In theory nobody should be posting peoples personal stuff but at same time it's nice to say they history of these forgotten places . Then there is that worrying footage that colin has done a naughty that obviously hasn't been posted but if this issue escalated it might get out .
Hopefully the police who you saw after the explore were after those vandals and caught them. I don't blame you and Ben for not staying afterwards for your personal safety.

I assume that is in Wales somewhere, as the hire van had a Welsh language name on the side.
I know the site well, used to buy parts from it when it was operational. It was indeed an old-school site with cars stacked on top of each other, you can see where some have been pushed over since it closed. Sadly the local vandals got in there pretty early, took all the Cats off the cars and then just smashed things up. There's talk of redeveloping the site and converting the old railway track that runs through the site into a cycleway.
Colin's interested in the cars but I want to talk about the mixed oil and chemical tanks where someone dumped Trioxin 245 hoping to hide it. In my next book, the vandals get it on them by accident and start turning into zombies.👀😬🤐🫣🙂

I love places like this .id go and tidy that yard for the owner .nice present for the owner when he gets out hopefully .there is a lot of good people in this world .sadly a lot of bad people in this world too . Me being a scrappy too .places like this is intresting .full of treasure 👍

This is what I hate about exploring abandoned places. Why people have to smash places up and set fire to places. Another great video
Rusty Sprinter vans - there are lots of 20-plate examples around that look about 20 years old. It's surface rust caused by paint damage that eats through the metal. DPD and Amazon Prime couriers use Sprinters up to 2 years old and they are particularly battered with bits fallen off.

I worked for this guy few years ago,most of them cars were there when I worked there.
The blue Citroen AX is a Debut special edition with a 954 engine. MOT ran out in 2017 with 72000 miles. It's a shame to see it there, they were very economical, reliable and fun to drive.

That scrap yard has still got a lot of potential as a scrapyard . If someone can help the owner tidy the place up would help

Heya... it's a great great that the place is no longer used... :(:)... a very sad story... but yes back in the day that's the way things worked... cars just stacked up... it was part of the fun back then... thank you for making video for us colin.... and every video you make ... just a shame there are vandals out there. :(:(
I don't get why after shutting down places like this that it never seems to be tidied up and cleared out. If it was a health and safety problem before what is it now, and the environment could definitely do without all those cars just sitting there rusting and rotting away.

Excellent video, I love walking round a scrap yard too . As for them low life vandals I would of exposed there faces and shown them for what they are .

That AX was put to one side .its probably the scrapyard owners own car and was put to oneside because of its rarity nowadays

That silver TT was last Mot'd in November 2012 at 56000 miles so it was not that old when last used.

Now that's a real scrap yard not silverlakes or trents there just money makers that send out the wrong parts. (Ordered a steering rack from trents and received a headlight and was off the road for 3 weeks while they investigated it only to be refunded as they had no peugeot expert racks) Messers.
The old rail way tracks on the way down to this place would catch a few boys out when we was kids on the Moto cross bike. If you hit the track with your bike the wheel would follow the rail track. Seem my mate bend his leg backwards and broke at his knee.

correction if a car is in a breakers yard but not got a certificate of destruction issued against it it can not be saved but if not it can be saved.

What a shame so many cars have just been left, I’m sure some would of been ok for parts. Some of them didn’t look that old. The idiots smashing up cars, I hate vandalism it’s senseless and pointless.

Hi there bearded Explorer I know is that you had sorry I meant I saw a Ka Mark 1 I've got the Mark 2 on I'm yet to look to see if there's any mark 2 in the scrapyard because the Mark ones were bit of a rust bucket
Surprisingly plate check on the blue AX shows MOT expired in 2017 and is currently SORN'ed. Wonder if its owned by the business to sell when they become extinct!
It really makes you think there must be millions of abandoned/junk cars lying around. And still more are being made! These cars need recycling in some way. Interesting video even though you didn't get to finish your look through.

Mercedes are known for using too few layers of water-based paint.
The paint process is far inferior on White vans, compared to what is used on normal cars!
Although these are in scrapyard the vandels don't need to smash them up

@17:50 I do wonder if that mk4 Golf was my mum's old company car SF51UFZ. It was scrapped in February 2018 and it was the same colour as this one with the same alloys. It was a 1.8T GTi 150bhp. I would love to save the alloys off it and make them mint again.

The thing about the kids of this era know that if they get caught doing that kind of stuff they'll only get a slapped wrist and on their way, even the parents can't discipline them cos they'll get done for it, even at school the teachers can't say jack shit cos the wrong word and bang they've lost their job. I remember when i was at school did out wrong the cane came out then it made you think twice of doing it again. Its all these do gooders taking any orthoraty away from parents and teachers,my old man was ex army and i was kept in place when ever i got out of line, which wasn't very often 😆, av had m8's with kids still at school and the little buggers turn wround & say to them,hit me & I'll report you,kids now have the upper hand bloody serious.

Secondly, never nice to see cars rotting in a scrapyard, but again it’s also a very interesting place as each car has a story to tell. However, even though those cars can’t be saved, maybe they can be saved via parts. Great explore.
