Kurt - I wanted to thank you again for having produced all your tutorials about how to use APT. You have been my "tutor" during the learning phase and the help has been invaluable. This tutorial on how to use Scripts is my most recent helping hand. After watching this tutorial I was able to create a script that went through a sequence of 11 focus positions with a 14 sec exposure at each position. It worked flawlessly and saved a lot of tedium. Keep up the good work. - Steve in Santa Cruz, CA
As a newbie, trying to learn how to effectively use APT, your tutorials are invaluable. I know this is an older session, but during this time of pandemic isolation, it certainly makes up for the lack of star-party education. Thanks for your devotion to this intriguing hobby.
I cannot get my scope to park. I shift+clicked when the scope was in the park position and added the script step but the scope parks to a odd position thats slighty to the right at about 50 to 60 degrees. I mean it works cause I'm assured the scope wont run into the tripod if left on but it'd be great to have it parked. Any suggestions?
@@nathanet100 Sounds like APT thinks Park is in different location. I had this happen before when I was playing around . I just shut everything down, moved the scope to where I want Park to be and fired everything up again.
Thanks Kurt for the info. I haven't used scripts before but once I have my permanent observatory I can definitely see the advantage of this. Nice image by the way. Not a target I've done before. Adding it to the list.
Thank you Kurt!,For brining scripts to my attention this well be very helpful when I use APT the next time I do a imagining session ,thank you for sharing your video, lovely image .👍
Hi astroquest 1 I subscribed to your channel my team is azeq6r, eos1000da, qhy183 m, filter holder and electronic focuser with Arduino, ed80.sw200 / 1000 and I use apt tools, good videos (Almería ,Spain)
Hi Kurt. Once again thanks for this helpful video. Is it possible to have a script that does one imaging plan, takes care of meridian flip, resumes the imaging plan then shuts off everything and parks the mount?
@@AstroQuest1 same here with the meridian flips...but I would like to know how to do an entire script. I will watch this video of yours before I get there. I solved the plate solving failure with ASTAP+APT and the Mallincamsky DS287 camera: According Han Klejn the sensor has to be at least 1000 pixels at its largest dimension for it to work...so a long nagging problem explained.

Cool target, Kurt, I hadn't seen it before. Well done.
Thanks Chuck. Surprisingly there are that many on Astrobin either. I gets overshadowed by all the other stuff in Orion.
Fantastic Kurt, I tried to use scripts last month and failed. Now it all becomes clear👊👍🧐. Clear skies buddy
Thanks Roger. - Good luck!

It sure is Dan. I like to be around for Meridian Flips however, but the scripts can do it.
