Excellent video. I love pawpaws and I'm sure as time goes by and breeders and selectors do their magic they will become more readily available for the general population. Thumbs way up!
Canada! I didn't know they grew at that higher altitude! I'll try looking for them in my own state which up to now, I'd thought was too far out of its natural range!
They're in Ontario's orchard/vineyard belt between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie which helps moderate their winters - they're in zone 6b. But I've heard of them being grown in zone 5 areas of Canada as well.
@@Lochness19 i been wondering where i can find these to buy in toronto are there some farmer markets, farms or stores selling them? if so where ,,or areas to find them in the wild like maybe Niagara falls or Hamilton,, those zones you spoke about are these the same as fishing zones like when you look at the fishing regulations ?
Pssst - altitude is a purely vertical measurement, for example: Mount Everest has an altitude of 8,849 metres at its peak above sea level or Some Random Town has an altitude of 409 metres above sea level (altitude is measured up from sea level, which has an altitude of zero,) - the word you actually want is 'latitude,' as latitude measures how far north or south a location is from the equator. Hope this helps!!! Good luck finding pawpaws!❤
do ppl have to reserve for there paw paw or can you juts show up at the right time of the months and please how much is it a pound? i think grimo nut nursery down the road quoted $6/lb
I have Two PawPaw trees here in Chatham and don’t know how to tell if they are male or female or do they have both in the flower! I want to hand pollinate next year! We have 3 fruits on the one tree! The second one is too small for fruit yet maybe next spring!

Try Grimo Nut Nursery. I have 5 seedlings from them and they are doing great. I ordered 3 last year and had an extreme freeze (near the Ottawa area) during winter. I was worried they would have died, so I ordered 2 more Paw Paws. They came back with a vigor, and so now I have 5! I can't wait for fruit!
@@ashleighcleary3388 yeah but do they have them growing for the public to pic like this warren farm? and are they cheaper or should i just try warrens farm?
I've seen them sold in farmers market in Toronto. Look for Forbes Wild Foods stand in early October. They usually sell pawpaws when they are in season.

Do you know which variety of Paw Paw it was?
He grows several different types, including seedlings and named cultivars. I couldn't say which tree was which, though.

Do you clone any of your trees
I don't believe Torrie clones any of his trees.

He uses Roundup. 😢
Where this pawpaw farm address? Phone number?
Glyphosate is terrible for your gut.
Shame to hear him spraying chemicals on “weeds”
