While driving you just decide to stop and start digging or does it depend on the surrounding terrain?
A bit of both but sometimes you have to drive and stop randomly to discover some fresh zones. Knowing the visual geologic signs for crystal pockets definitely helps. Most the quartz deposits we dig are on granite but many different rock types can have crystals to find.
