I have 5 flights on mine now. I’ve been using a CNHL 4000-70C and put it about 3/4” behind the front of the canopy opening. I don’t have an afterburner in it. It will suddenly quit flying if it gets too slow, but it falls straight ahead and doesn’t drop a wingtip. You’d better be close to the runway when it stalls.
FW EDF's have really seemed to be very sufficient over the last year, I've been getting comments myself because I run SMC 59/5100 53/4600 in my 70 Raptors. Like you just said sure I feel a little difference in the weight but not enough to hurt flight performance, nice to see someone else go against to rules per say. Great flight keep them coming

Well when it's you plane do what you want! At the end of the day if you had fun then the flying was a success!
