  • This was a tough one to film. I like to keep my channel a really positive space, but I did want to share one bad experience I had while raving because not every show is going to be a good one. I hope that you guys are careful out there!

Thank you for sharing this story, its important. I love the PLUR vibes of the edm scene but there are predators always out there who exploit these good vibes. Cant put your guard down even when we all are having the time of our lives.

if i seen someone at a rave drugging someone without their consent the person who does that would absolutely lose a kneecap at a minimum and be dragged by thier nutsack to the closest police officer and turned in...i have 0 patience for that behavior..i lost someone to the mixture of ghb and liquor because they didnt know the drink was spiked. the pain from that loss is what sticks in memory way more than the happiness of the festival.

I'm glad you guys got home safely! My bf went to a rave a couple years ago and shared a drink with a (female) friend but ended up drinking pretty much all of it coz she didn't like it. Cut to - he wakes up in our driveway. Someone tried to roofie our female friend! Luckily my bf went there with a different friend who drove him home n layed him in our car (I lock the door at night and our friend couldn't find his house key) In a way he could of saved our lady friend from something horrible!

Although your channel aims to be positive and informative about the EDM/rave community, I think it is a good story to share even though it was a scary situation. Positing about show/event/rave safety is a topic that would make a great addition to your channel and something you can cover well! What I took away from this story is to stick together, be mindful of surroundings and the people you meet. I agree, going to shows and events brings out good people and positive vibes, but safety is most important. I have been to events and seen people, even myself and friends in my own crew, who clearly over did it. Also, read articles later about the show on how many people were sick, arrested or unfortunately, died. We are constantly reminded by the event organizers to look out for each other at all times and get help for anyone who looks like they need it. Have fun, be positive, responsible, and SAFE! 🙂

There was this dude at Illenium last week that was being SUPER sus and me and my buddy were Sitting there watching him talk to all these girls and we're just like "this guy is killin our vibes". We literally just kept an eye on the dude the whole night. Just saying even if its a random stranger you dont know, be on the lookout for people who might need help.

Okay just a little bit of info... might be applicable, might be useful, although the whole thing about being careful as possible is absolutely vital. Unfortunately, people never tell anyone this, but PARTICULARLY with women because of how the brain and senses are wired, drinking any kinds of alcoholic FIZZY drinks THROUGH STRAWS or a straw, can end up having the exact same effect because the alcohol is concentrated in gas bubbles and enters the stomach wall really quickly and easily and hits the muscle/nerve control centers really hard then. You may not have been slipped anything and yet the effect 'can' be somewhat similar.

That sux, that was around the time there was a sort of rash of that happening. Like 2017-18 I think it was it was a problem, from my undrestanding it has gotten better, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. That is terrifying. It is nuts too cuz the majority of people are good, but the few here and there have to ruin things. I had an ex that was a photographer and worked at events around that time and they were being warned it was an issue :/ Thanks for sharing, PLUR.

Dunno if you’re trying to blame that dude that was trying to hookup with her earlier then called you on the phone, but I’ve been out and came across girls that we’re GONE, like wasted, went up to her and asked, who are you here with? What’s you’re friends’ name? What is she wearing?
She told me a name and dress colour and style of her friend ( it was a gay/drag Halloween night, we know and we remember these things lol, also her friend was hot af) and I ran inside and found her friends, told them she needed their help and asked the security guy just inside the door to keep an eye on her for a sec.
They seemed annoyed but went out and met her and got in a cab together and took her home.
Pretty sure if that guy called you AFTER your friend was alone with him, had pure intentions and was looking out for your friend.
I go to a lot of events in my city and one thing that seems to be ramping up and getting reported on the fb pages more and more often are girls getting drugged. Often having never left their drink unattended so bartenders are doing this shit too.
If that guy had bad intentions you would t have heard from your friend until at least the next day.
She is a lucky girl. Be safe and look after each other. And not just your friends, look out for strangers too. Don’t let animals get away with this shit. See something say something. Imagine you see someone trying to take advantage of a vulnerable person you don’t know or care about. And then you let it slide and ignore it.
Well you need to ask yourself a question, how would you feel if it was your best friend or sister that war about to be drugged or taken advantage of. Because next time it might be. If we all put in a little effort to look after each other we will ALL be much better off. Don’t ignore people acting a fool. We need to put trash in the trash can. Then the rest of us can rest a little easier and not have to worry about this shit so much.
If you see and know about this stuff happening and you do and say nothing about it and let other people be victimized, you are just as shitty and guilty as the person commuting the act.

IDK whether to "like" this video or "dislike" it, so I'm just gonna say that I'm really sorry you guys had to go through that kind of bullshit!... That's one reason that I don't EVER go to ANY show in any kind of "fucked-up", "high", or drunk state, as some people do, because I like to stay fully aware of everything around me too, fully enjoy the music and artist or DJ playing, AND actually *remember* exactly how awesome the experience was!
I guess it's also a very good reason to always stay very positive and of a "high spirit" and vibe at ALL times, because for the most part, you tend to "attract" like minded and spirited people to you wherever you go, so always being of a "higher level spirit" and keeping a very uplifting and positive "aura" around you at all times, will help deter any more "negative" thinking people that may come around you so they usually tend to just turn around and "go the other way" sooner than later because they subconsciously can't feel the same good vibes as you do... Anyway, I'm getting a little bit too "philosophical" now, but maybe you understand what I mean here... Just always say your positive energy "protection mantrum" with help from the "highest possible source" (i.e. your "guardian angel(s)", etc.), to help keep you safe in any circumstance... That and always trusting your "gut instincts" about something will help you out forevermore throughout your life!
I have been to too many raves to even count over the decades that I've been going to them, and to date I can only remember TWO events where there was ANY kind of a problem, neither of which had anything to do with or affected me personally, so I guess I've been quite lucky!
One of the first few big events that I ever went to was where I actually saw a guy get SO fucked up and was overdosing on X, I suppose, that he was having a seisure and was foaming at the mouth, and as a result he had to go to the hospital in an ambulance! (That's why I've never been interested in trying ANY of the drugs that sometimes get passed around at raves!... Luckily that doesn't actually happen as much or as often as some people might think!... Actually I'm happy to notice a general trend now of more and more people just going to raves to simply have fun dancing, hanging out with their friends, and really enjoying the music and the positivity and love itself, which is really great, because I've always been a "clean raver" myself too!)
The only one other event that I remember or knew about anything bad happening was one also MANY years ago, prob. around 2005 or 2010 or so, where there was some gangster thug out in the *parking lot* , (not even inside the venue building itself), that was causing trouble because he was apparently drunk and was fighting with someone and the cops got called, and then of course the entire event got shut down right in the middle of an awesome DJ set inside the building!... A case where "one dumbass ruins it for everyone!"
That was around about the time when the local cops started looking for ANY reason to shut down an all night rave, so oh well... downhill from there I guess, into what the local NM "rave scene" is today... ALL entirely inside controlled venue very small clubs which close early every night. :/

Big words my man, I had never gone to a rave before my first one was E-zoo in NY and I can say that I had one of the best time of my life without using any kind of drugs.
When you’re sober you enjoy more the music and you’re also more aware of your surrounding. It’s sad to see all those people laying down on the floor without knowing where they are and what are they doing.

No disrespect but I believe the guy have good intentions. I would ask who the person is with and contact that person group as well if I come across a person who is mess up. Maybe your friends was down to drink a lot with him at the bar while talking to him? who knows and maybe she got mess up so bad that he have to call you guys to make sure you girls know your friend is safe and where she is at? Like if I was to be mess up and couldn’t find my group after being parted for a couple minute, I would like someone to help me contact my group of friends as well. - I’m just saying- and speaking facts. I believe you worries to much that you over thinking it and make the situation where it’s doesn’t need to be at. It’s good to look out for one another, but don’t over think it and over do it where it can ruin the night. If you feel unsafe all the time, then stay home.
