I love your channel! I watch you every morning with my morning coffee and every night when I sit down with my glass of wine. You have become apart of our family now, as you are always on our living room or bedroom tv. My sweet mother has been a fan of yours for a while and she influenced me to check out your channel, and I am so glad I did! I am new at gardening and you have encouraged me, motivated me, and educated me on all the things it takes to be a master gardener and I so appreciate you sharing you knowledge and passion with all of us. I think I have watched ALMOST every single one of your videos 😅 so please don’t stop producing! I also really enjoy these cutting/propagation videos; they’re so helpful for new gardeners who are on a tight budget! Xoxoxo 😃
I have never tried rooting plants, until recently. I bought a beautiful lavender plant. It broke during planting. I took the broken pieces, and have successfully rooted six different plants! 👏🏻yay! I am thrilled!
Yes Linda, I am jealous that you have a friend who works at a garden center. I love that you love to spread your bounty with others and love sharing with us all.
Great video. Would also love to see a continuation video of the process. And Linda, your outfit is so cute. Love the sweater and top with the capri jeans and flats.
So timely. I did some root cuttings last Spring when you two had a "class". Everything took and lived through the Omega heat dome. I can't wait for Spring!
Monica needs to be the next gardening wisdom author. That is a book I would love to add to my library! As a side note, this was my first year to dabble in scented geraniums. Absolutely have fallen in love with everything about these sweet plants! I pruned some cuttings about 3 weeks ago and put them in water with the intention of enjoying their beauty and delightful scent. Those cuttings have actually started rooting! Who knew??? Well, probably Monica but I was totally shocked. So they have been added to my list of plants to pot up for wintering over. : )) The mother plants will be prepped for dry storage. I'm crossing my fingers for success on that part of the adventure.
Loved this economical tip video so encouraging you make it look so simple. Your fashion epilogues are such a kick. I love hearing you bought it at a thrift shoppe. You always look so fashionable.
Cuttings are a wonderful way to propagate because the cutting has the exact DNA as the parent plant. With seed saving you don't always know what you will get. Many plants are hybrids so consult a biology textbook on the work of Gregor Mendel.
Linda, three wks ago I took cuttings from my begonias that look just like yours. I see little roots on only three of the cuttings; all the rest have white nodes, no roots yet. Also have two small cuttings of begonias w/teeny white flowers and smaller leaves than the red ones; no roots yet. I enjoyed this video, and enjoyed "meeting" your friend!
I put my topiary Rosemary I was gifted 2 Christmases ago in the garden - now it 5’ tall & that wide as well. It’s just a blob. No longer resembles a Christmas tree shape.
Another great video Linda! Another idea for learning about plant propagation is to volunteer at a local garden, which I am very fortunate to be able to do. I’ve been learning so much from the master gardener by working with him in the plant propagation area. The bonus is that you also get to bring home surplus plants. Love your channel so much! Off now to get some cuttings.
Hi Linda You are a fantastic lady. You wear clothes so well and i love the way you sentimentalise your things. After all, why go shopping if you have to throw items away😍
Taking cuttings from persian shield today, plus channeling my inner Linda by digging up cedar seedlings, potting in mucked up clay pots, and mulching with beloved gravel! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love your thirted jacket😍 I went to Goodwill today & found a large taracotta cat 🐈 to put a candle. I add to my collection of taracotta pots on plant stand, etc. Note, it has a battery candle in it for safety. I am a crazy cat gal & what a great find. Tag said made in Taiwan, thinking a vintage piece. Less than 4.00
How wonderful and interesting this was! I have grown Lavender, this year in a pot, for the first time and it has done really well! I did feed it, once over the summer, which really helped to keep it from getting to leggy! I really would LOVE to keep it over the winter, inside and also pot my Rosemary and bring it in as well. If you have any tips on where and what to do to keep them over the Winter I would love some tips! I still have so much to learn!! Our discovery in our new back yard ( all the brick pathways) has just been so exciting and watching your videos and seeing all you have accomplished in your beautiful yard has made me so much more interested and excited about putting together a beautiful garden! LOVE your earrings too! Are they heavy or light weight? And your Thrift finds are FABULOUS! I just had an "outing" yesterday, with my dearest friend and we wrapped up our day at the Goodwill where I found 2 GREAT bar stools, white lattice back, with black leather seats, in SUPER condition for 9.99 EACH! Sooooo much FUN! Thank you for a great watch...Can't wait for more!
Hi Linda and Monica, I have been working on creating some topiaries and did some clipping on my new rosemary. For a lark I put a could of the cuttings in water and they ROOTED! I was so shocked because you guys said that some rooting hormone would be needed. Question is how long do I let they sit in the water (I'm changing it almost every day), before I can plant them? I love this. And Thank you so much.
Thanks so much, Linda and Monica, I am moving, and I put Salvia ‘black and blue’ in the ground. I looked for it all Spring and summer-it wasn’t easy to find in my area. I have been wanting to take cuttings to take with me, so the timing is perfect! Could you do this with.zinnias? Same story with white profusion zinnias-didn’t find them until August! ❤️
Would love for Monica to do an herbal tea plants and how to blend teas segment!!! Also I am wonder what her success rate is for her cuttings. I bet she has a far higher success rate than the 50 percent a lot of people say .
Linda and Monica did a 4 part series awhile back on how to root cuttings. If you do a search, Linda Vater rooting cuttings, you should be able to find the videos.
Dear Linda, I have been enjoying your videos more and more as I have come to watch them. I would ask that you come back to watch this filming. I believe you had no intention, yet you came across rather autocratic and a tad degating. I am sure you shall correct such behaviour in the feature. As always. Looking forward to your next video.
Hi Linda, I love your videos. But I must say your nonproducing fig bushes bother me! I am zone 7b in Virginia. I have a brown turkey fig and a black fig. They are in the ground. Every fall I put a bale of pine tags on the base of my figs. But the spring I do a light pruning and give them a handful of hollytone and a handful of bone meal. I get loads of figs every year. I keep them pruned to a manageable heighth. Also no one needs to lose their rosemary to the cold. When I hear of very cold temperatures I wrap my rosemary and any other sensitive plant in fabric or burlap.
Everyone in OK lost their Rosemary to this arctic blast. It didn’t make any difference whether they were covered or not. Plus Virginia is a much different climate with much different conditions than in Oklahoma. Yes my figs could benefit from some additional TLC. ☺️
Would love to see Monica’s greenhouse one day! Great episode ladies!

How kind! It is an honor to be invited into your home🙏

Hey Linda, thank you for this video. I would love to see Monica's garden 😍
Sooo jealous you have a friend like Monica !!
I’d love to see a continuation video showing Monica potting up the cuttings! Buying annuals every year in Canada is expensive.
I would like to know too just put in soil ??
There is a wonderful video with Monica and Linda that she roots several things she also shares her rooting secrets. I learned so much.
Awesome! Thank you both!
I can’t believe the many begonias live let die out because of change of season. I will be star
Start my journey of saving clippings. Thank you so much for this video.
Now I want to take cuttings of everything! Very inspired! Wish I had a Monica. 🥰
Thank you so much for the tips on the cuttings, I will have to give it a try! Also like tips on ways to save on outfits! Love your style!
Hello Linda and Monica
Really enjoyed this. A lot of information. Thank you.
Very informative, Linda. Thank you. Monica is lovely. Look forward to her herbal tea blends.
Great video. Would also love to see a continuation video of the process. And Linda, your outfit is so cute. Love the sweater and top with the capri jeans and flats.

Perfect timing! I'm now unemployed and trying to propagate plants for next year to save $$$ in the spring. Thanks!

I would love to see the process of rooting. I’ve watched UA-cam channels but never any had luck working.
How long should you let rosemary harden off before planting.
Thank you both as this was so informative!
Dragon wing begonias have shiny, glossy green leaves. Angle wing have spots on their leaves which are usually darker in color.
Lots of great info! You give me confidence to try new things. 💗
Beautiful outfit. Coco Chanel inspired always works for me.

Yay!!! Can't wait to learn more about growing and creating herbal teas! Always wanted an herbal tea garden! ☕🌼🌿🧡

Look D'Automne 👍 Sobre Et Classe !
Taking cuttings from persian shield today, plus channeling my inner Linda by digging up cedar seedlings, potting in mucked up clay pots, and mulching with beloved gravel! Thanks for the inspiration!
The mastergardeners in our county propagate plants for our annual spring plant sale.
Can you make a video showing Monica’s greenhouse
Great info, love the jacket
I want to learn how to blend the teas.
Great video, ladies, with great tips!
We always try to save! Great video, Linda is very cute today.
Would love to see her greenhouse and what she does with the cuttings she is taking .

Linda when are you going to wear some of your line?

Can you do Texas Sage?

Do the cuttings require a heated greenhouse in zone 8b east texas? Loved the video!
Can you take cuttings of foxtail fern ??? If so - going to my neighbor’s and helping myself 😉
What is the five "fingered" leafy plant to Monica's left?
I’m in Edmond Oklahoma. Pick ME! I want scented geraniums, and the can be hard to find. I wanna be on your plant sale list!!!
Linda this is off-topic, but you are so beautiful you could be a movie star🥰
Love this video...learned a lot! Going to try to do some rosemary cuttings! Here in PA I have to buy a plant every spring!😳
Also, love your jacket!
Nice jacket (was sorry to hear it's a thrift find!)
Is there any way that we could watch Monica's herbal tea blend class? I will be happy to pay! Thank you
How does she process the cuttings? I’ve had mixed success, probably due to lack of specific knowledge.
Linda and Monica did a 4 part series awhile back on how to root cuttings. If you do a search, Linda Vater rooting cuttings, you should be able to find the videos.
First!
If this is trademarked it is illegal to sell these plants made from cuttings.
Then the plant propagation jail should be full!
Dear Linda,

I believe you had no intention, yet you came across rather autocratic and a tad degating.
