Thanks for your enthusiasm in appreciating Brescia... Some litttle specification ( sorry my english is very bad, my french is much better but nobody speak it nowdays😩) 1- The first Square in which you speak about "Loggia" is NOT" Loghia square" but Victoria Square ( fascist period, (1920 to 2nd world war) 2 In the square whith the two cathedrals, hou have missend the lovely square inside the ancient building with the tower, that was the most ancient CityHall, in the period ( 1100- 1200) in which Brescia, as others Municipality ( Comuni) in Italy, fighted against imperial power to obtain "self government". The old cathedral and the old City Hall in the same square are big symbols of the two powers facing one other: the religious one and the "civil" one. 3. The "Loggia Palace" is Brescia City Hall from the Renaissance to...nowdays! 4 I don't think that the victims of terrorism remembered in the street are all the victim in the world.... 5 from the Middle Age ( 697) to 1797 Venice has been a REPUBLIC, (never an EMPIRE ) indipendent and rich thanks to commerce (like Genua, Pisa, Amalfi). Brescia has been for a long period under Venitian government.
Saludos.
Hello. Mac de leurea, I think it is the part you are referring to, it is what they are called in the dialect of Brescia, however I see that the translation is in Spanish and I have already made the change, please correct me if this is what you mean. thank you.
I macc dè le ùre (also known as I Gobbi delle ore) are known by locals as Tóne e Batìsta. The word macc in Brescian dialect means mad/crazy. However, there are those who say that in this case macc may also mean macho as in strong muscly men.
