It's not a "justice" system is a "rehabilitation" system. That's the problem.
So true….our Police Force need to learn what to do at crime scenes! At one time, the RCMP went through rigorous training and way more knowledge on “everything” criminal….and they must score high marks!!! Not any more it seems!

This is what happens when you have young offenders act! You put all the like-minded kids together to do worse when they become adults like here! Young offenders act should be abolished!
There are very good reasons to protect young offenders. Not these offenders. But I think very young offenders have a chance if we tried harder. But once you are 16, old enough to get a drivers license, you are no longer protected as a youth criminal, as far as I'm concerned. Especially when you are in a gang. There needs to be special laws for gang members. Double everything!

I grew up in surrey. I knew many guys who went to ydc. I knew Mike and Cory, but I wasn’t friends with Cory. Mike was actually a solid guy, a good guy too who was just involved in bad shit. Some of the biggest guys in the game went thru ydc, it only made them bigger and stronger.

Mind you they're all my family! I grew up in foster care and had no family until i made one. Each life is precious! Each one of these deaths is tragic.. No one more than an other.. That mentality is why so many MMIWG cases go unsolved. Somehow people feel they were deserving of death case closed..

I truly respect Christopher's mom. I have only one son and he too plays ball. I could never be as strong as her. If that happened to my son, were all going with him. There would be funerals, not trials. I put that on everything.
Attorneys and cops who made these stupid deals should be put behind bars as well.

Person Y is loose cannon Anton Hooites-Meursing. He used to comment on Kim Bolan’s former blog as “Nemesis.”
Person X is Dennis Karbovanec. He approached police and pled guilty in 2009 to three of the murders. He’s in prison out east. He also would show up on Kim Bolan’s blog; I think his user name was “Monster” if I recall correctly.
Former cop Derek Brassington and crew are an absolute disgrace. I’ve read details of their misconduct and it’s mind boggling.

This mother is incredibly strong. So heartbreaking what happened to her son, and that poor handyman, who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rest in Peace. I pray for their families/friends. The rest of these men can rot in hell - losers.
She advocates for crime victims in addition to honouring her son the way she chooses to. That’s none of your business.
Also stop to consider the fact that the other victims’ families have by and large chosen not to speak publicly other than a couple of Ed’s extended family members occasionally (which is their right of course). That means Eileen has been the face so to speak of this entire case’s aftermath because she’s willing to be on camera while refusing to accept the absurdity of our country’s “justice system.”
Eileen had to use vacation days from work to attend criminal proceedings to find out the details of her son’s slaying. Would you be strong enough to sit through something like that? I doubt it based on your cowardly comment.

We know that gang members rarely make it to middle age. They take out themselves in the course of their own actions within their gang communities. And I'm ok with that.
What's terrible is that families of victims have to go through the courts over and over again for years just to satisfy some little piece of legal error that has nothing to do with the convicted persons guilt. If there were a law that said that the amount of times a victim or a victims family has to relive their grief and torture in the courts had to be limited and considered when appeals of any kind happened, then this case would have been over so very long ago. This should be a part of the legal process. The victim's families rights are just as important as the convicted. Can we not make that part of the legal considerations?
There is no gang communities there is communities that have gangs in them, these were a hand full of people creating all this mayhem.

It's interesting that this story sounds like it has similarities with a disappearance here in the central Kootenays and a other crimes that may have ties to the Okanogan as well and it boils down to drugs and people in high places

So, 1 rcmp officers walked away after being charged with his pension. The rcmp who was dating the gangster gf was given a conditional sentence of two years - house arrest. And later discharged from the RCMP with an unrelated incident. The other officer was suspended for nine years after three months house arrest, and I’m willing to bet he collected his pay for those nine years.

This is so sad horrific but do they think the gangs don’t know who person y is word gets around and they’re telling all the circumstances surrounding him. So how’s he not in danger ?
In 2010 Anton Hooites-Meursing (Person Y) confessed to two murders unrelated to the Surrey Six. He was sentenced to life with no chance of parole for 25 years. He’s likely incarcerated out east and in PC if required. He is safer than he would be on the streets and honestly I could care less about his safety given the crimes he committed over many, many years.
He is an absolute menace and it’s believed he committed more than the two murders he confessed to. He felt rejected by the Bacon brothers/Red Scorpions and that’s probably why he agreed to testify in the Surrey Six case. His testimony was not particularly useful - he essentially shared a few things Matthew Johnston may or may not have said to him - and that was mentioned in this documentary.
And you air out the identity of all these young men but protect the perpetrator who admitted to pulling the trigger. Hmmm why are they protecting that monsters id? And NONE of you talk about how wrong this is. Not a single peep..

Also Chris’s mother in every statement revolves everything around Chris’s death but neglects the fact that the repair man was completely innocent and 4 others died as well.

Person X (Dennis Karbovanec) pled guilty to three of the murders and is incarcerated out east. He can apply for parole after 15 years which unfortunately is soon but no guarantee he’ll get it.
Matthew Johnston died of cancer in custody in December 2022.
Cody Haevischer is still in prison and his lawyer has been working on an evidentiary hearing for years.
These three were the ones in the suite who carried out the actual murders.
