I've been a woodworker for over 50 years and do not know of monkeypod wood. dose it have another name, if so what is it. Beautiful wood grain and a great plate. Wonderful demonstration. Thanks
Look up Monkeypod and you will see it is from Hawaii and other island chains. Many platters and snack dishes are made from is especially back in the 50's and 60's. Go to google or your web browser and search monkeypod. Thanks
Beautiful workmanship! Q. How durable is the shine juice for daily use as a platter? Would more coats be advised for more protection? Thanks very much. Stay safe and take care.
Ok Erik, what type of wood is Monkeypod? Where does it come from? Plated look very nice. A job well done. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Take care and be safe.
Eric, great work!! When you sadly the shine juice is almost boiling, are you heating it before applying, or is it getting hot from friction? Thank you for sharing, really nice piece as always! Keep me coming, please. Stay safe!
Alot of people know me and what I do and I am constantly having people let me know about wood plus I work in an industry with a tremendous ammount of waste. On the last job I was on I could have taken so much sugar pine and sheet goods but I had no room! Door and window shops are a good place to check! Local Slab cutters and tree workers. In my neighborhood there is a tree arbor company with a yard full of free firewood and lots of it is turnable!
Beautiful! Looks like it was nice stuff to work with. You made it look easy.
Thanks Rick
