Everything in Japan apparently needs years of skill to make, and can cost several thousand dollars
@@R.Merkhetyeah, that give’s absolutely nothing in return but I guess your right, it’s just about the name
so you just defined what a craftsman is. they aren't exclusive to japan and i don't understand why this is controversial. there are a wide range of craftsmen from all parts of the world in many different fields. they can charge that much because they can turn out higher quality products than mass manufacturers can.
Naruto Scissors - no wonder
It should be able to cut into another dimension with its sharpness.
@@kenshn22828 Naruto actually said Dattebayo which doesn't really mean anything. It is more of a emphasis word so they changed it to Believe it for the English Dub.
There's a comb company next block called Sasuke comb company.. I'm not kidding, look it up
My mom cut hair in the late 80s. I remember her telling me she would spend big money on good scissors. She had a pair of scissors that cost $300 back then.
@@Scotland2306 Oh yeah! When I was in kindergarten I used them on construction paper. She was very unhappy to put it in a very polite way!!!
300 dollars in 1985 is equivalent to 875 dollars today. Quite a lot of money!
Damm one drop of those scissors and thousands of dollars down the drain
@Pain9682 I'd rather them fall then swing from a chain or cord because if they fall open and start swinging something getting cut.
I thought Naruto wanted to be a Hokage? It's good that he decided to open a scissors company instead.
My favorite tools are the ones that are so simple, but crafted with the utmost effort and beauty. Something that will last many years and serve its function extremely well.
Also while attending beauty school there is usually a payment plan tailored to your affordably. This way you will have your exquisite shears once you have gained your exquisite skills.🎉😮🎉😊❤❤❤
You know what else i can buy for 3000 dollars? A lifetime supply of professional hair scissors
Japanese water can cost upto 6000$ crafted specifically from a thousands of years old technique of dissolving glacier ice directly over a water bottle, much of water doesn't fall in the bottle directly and what remains only that is packaged.
"When you just have to have a Samurai haircut, you choose Naruto Scissors."
- Naruto Scissors commercial
Watched the whole video. Totally worth it if you're a professional who can afford it.
They have maintained scissors from 50 years ago. It has proprietary technology for the screws and man-intensive labor for warping the metal, so that the pair don't scrape against each other. Only point of contact is the hair. This helps lessen sharpening, which one usually spend a day not making any money. They build it to fit your hand perfectly to lessen strain, which you need if you want to do that work for a very long time. You can spend more time improving your consistency and technique, than worrying with changes to, what is essentially, an extension of your hand.
I would pay for a 3k ballpen if it's the last ballpen my grand daughter would use.
That's a hell of a way to put it. A tool like that is a literal lifetime investment - and relatively speaking the price isn't even that insane compared to how even cheaper shears run in the ~300-~1500 dollar range - heck some other brands also sell in the 3000 range.
If it's anything like the difference between a cheap 20 dollar blender and a $500 Vita Mix, it is absolutely worth it.
Unfortunately pens are one of the most commonly lost/stolen items. So high quality and good engineering are not quite enough to get most people to spend thousands of dollars on one.
@@karezaalonso7110 You know it, Ain't no way a 3k ballpen isn't getting stolen haha. I'm just speaking in a figurative sense, where I would gladly pay big money for something that's more or less worth it.
@Lardo137 when something is bought as an investment it makes sense to pay this much.
Naruto infused his 2 kunai made scissors 😂😂😂
When i first started cosmotolgy school...in 1985.
I had a pair of shears the school gave us with our kit.
We were told as we get more skilled we should find a pair that would be a better fit.
I bought my first real good pair at a csometolgy convention i spent 50. bucks..lol
As the years gone by i would spend upwards of 300 to 400 bucks for shears. One year i even won a pair of Japanese thinning shears 600. worth laser sharpened. Never needed sharpening since i got them.
I would find the best shear sharpeners spend buck for them to be sharp.
I would cringed if i dropped them n look up n down the blades for nicks.
But,my gear are worth it.
I love that Japanese take so much pride in what the build and create. It’s more than money. It’s providing quality unlike no other
Is there anything in Japan not taken with an artisanal approach?
No. The culture is VERY much geared from before elementary school towards quality. Doesn't matter what position you are, try to be the best at that job that has ever existed.
@@sahilbhardwaj1238 Because "Art of censoring" is a thing & it also take decades of craftmanship mastery.
/s just kidding.
Scissors for hair are never "regular 10$ ones" so why you even compare them
Japan is a country of master craftsmen and artisans. Beautiful culture.
Insider be like
Japan: artisans ✨
Other places like India: workers 🤖
I’m not a stylist but I wear bangs and more than 40 years ago I invested in German shears that cost about $100. I sewed clothing and quilts even as a teenager so I appreciate good shears and since they are metal they last a lifetime. Quality shears keep their edge better and can be resharpened. The new lightweight style might be fine if you just need to cut twine, tape or paper, but they dull quickly and are soon tossed.
Highway robbery 😂
If the cost of wages accounts for only 40% material is likely 1-2% then the mark-up is crazy overpriced
They are beautiful,a work of art. Overpriced no doubt.
If the scissors are made out of metal, they WILL need sharpening. And, far sooner than a decade. It is so sad that people actually believe this nonsense.
I watch this after saw how shuttlecock made
Japan worker: artisan
Indian worker: worker
😂
In Japan anything can be that expensive - strawberries for instance or wagyu beef. Doesn’t mean it’s worth it, at all.
It’s worth it for the stylists that service the super rich, they can use these scissors as marketing tools to up the price per cut. Kinda like salons nowadays all have a Dyson hair dryer on display to show how expensive and high end of a service you’re getting. Reality is, you can buy 25- 30 really good shears with that money, and maintenance cost a whole lot less too.
Where in the world would you get a standard pair of hair shears for “under $10”??
You can barely get a standard pair of normal scissors for that price, let alone hair shears.
To those who don’t know, hair shears are not normal scissors. Their blades grip the hair strands so they don’t slide out of the scissors, like they do in a normal smooth edged pair of scissors.
What a waste of money, i just rip my hair out instead of buying scissors
From what I've experienced, Japan makes some of the best blades. Hands down.
I ordered a special scissors and apparently the person who's gonna make is still a child apprentice. It will take him another 50 years to master the skill and fulfill my order. So for now I'm dragging my very long hair until I get that scissor.
All that for a nerdy hairstyle
This is not accurate. I worked in an administrative capacity for hairstyling industry. Back in the 80s, there were stylists who would buy shears that cost hundreds of dollars.
@tra_stay_winning She said that most hair scissors cost ten dollars. The way she said it insinuated that other than these, most scissors are ten dollars. That's simply not true. There are several companies that manufacture scissors for haircutting and most of them cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.
@@1alayzziaAnd someone else in the comments mentioned it costs much more for hair shears anyway; and I’ve never seen many that were less than €50, with most pairs I’ve seen being between €60-100 at least.
My barber has a german made scissors that just cost 30$ and they get sharper with use
Although I don't believe these shears should be compared to others. (Seems ridiculous), yet I would love a chance to try these German man's shears to see for myself if this is true. Also on that note: " can a pair of shears reach a point of too sharp???"
Bro i swear japanese people are so damn cool bro they do almost every single thing bro, not only for my luv of dbz n anime but jus they work ethic, style, n finesse like they literally be doig everything much luv n props to the Japanese culture n hope to travel there one day
I think of Japan as the home of generations of artisan sentiment. The attention to detail, the focus, the discipline all amaze me. And I am a perfectionist by nature.
I began to become aware of these traits very modestly. It started years ago when learning about sushi. The training, the years of apprenticeship, the mental discipline made me think, "What? To cut a piece of fish??" Then I looked closer and closer and saw more of what was going on.
Remarkable. Those traits run strong in their society. I understand why their suicide rates are so high. Such high bars, so hard to strive for what must seem so impossible to many. 🙏🙏🙏
Respect to the people of Japan.
I was a hairdresser for 15 years. I used a pair of scissors that cost me a little over $800. Cheap scissors don't last long, but the one's that do cost a fortune.
In fact the warranty is void if you have them sharpened. They need it after you use them a couple of years. Good shears do help with hand fatigue.
Worth for them "high level" barber in japan can cost up to $200-$300/cut
Japan: we made this Underwear handmade with perfection and exotic materials, it's $1200
Huh now i finally understand that hair cutting manga series a whole lot more. Always wondered what was so special about the scissors
Naruto after Kurama gone doing scissors business
👍 Wonderful video art work! An excellent initiative you have taken.
Welcome to Japan : 5000$.
For what???
Welcome to Japan. 5000$
Hairs grow back, you can easily afford to have them poorly cut every once in a while then to pay for the barber who owns these shears an obscene amount of money.
Japan makes simple things so luxurious and it becomes a family heirloom
Naruto got so mad at his haircut that he decided to change the industry standard😂
I bought nail clippers from Japan, and it was one of the best grooming purchases I made. Definitely worth the hype.
Japan always have the highest quality product
scissors that will snip your customers ears right off, or your fingers
That's not scissors that's two expensive perfectly crafted knife strapped together
Okay. Where do I buy a pair? I need a matching set. ❤😊
I have a pair of Japanese shears. They are the best investment I've made
A standard $80 pair that your sharpen up every now and again is better
There are excellent Japanese hair scissors from other brands that'll work and last 90% as well for under $25.
Perfectionism costs, and it's rarely worth it.
Its the same reason anything from Japan is expensive: they over do it
Yeah and make the product too good in some cases like way too damn good
@@itachisaskuyeah but there’s a point of quality that there is no reason to go beyond besides just wasting money, that’s overdoing it
Over my entire career I spent hundreds of dollars for sheers that needed sharpening frequently... Their ergonomics we're not of the same standards either. If you're going to do something for decades, it makes sense to do it with the best tools. A woodworker, or any other craftsman would agree... 🤷🏻
My girlfriend has been using a pair of scissors she bought from a pet store to cut my hair for the past 2 years. The result is amazing.
I drive a Lexus.
Lexus is a Japanese design.
Excellent vehicle.
I was a dog groomer, Japan made the best scissors for dog grooming and they weren’t cheap either
Naruto!
Everything in Japan calls "Naruto"! 😂
Naruto getting into the hair care industry i can't
It cost higher cuz its in Japan, japan has inflation. same thing can found in small price throughout the world
The Japanese are some of the finest true artisans left.
For 3000 bucks I would hope the scissors are “custom fit to the clients hands”
“Dont wear down”
“When need to be sharpened”
At this point I’m pretty sure you can just about buy anything that’s made to perfection and is expensive and take years to master over there. Idk if that’s the best hustle ever or it really is a good quality item 🤷♀️
Ah yes, Naruto scissors.
That explains everything
I can see the fitted handles but the rest is available for a few hundred
They’re not magical hair scissors but they come with all the pretentious of ones.
Basically they are two samurai's
Japanese always have a way of prolonging production to increase selling price.
No scissors in any shape or form is with $3000 it costs that much because it got that "celebrity" status among all scissors
their tagline is "beleive it"
*scissors "NARUTOOOOOOO!!!!"
*me "SAAAASUUUUUKKKKEEEE!!!"
their tagline is "i am gonna be next hokage"
Imagine a kid thinking it’s craft scissors.
Overpriced
Japan likes to pretend that doing a monotonous useless task over and over somehow increases the value of an item
It has the spirit of the 9 tail fox which keeps it sharp indefinitely
Have to learn something from Japan marketing tactic
That’s the crazy mindset of overly focusing on something so trivial. The aim and goal are important. It should be well worth the time imo
Sure it shows the quest for perfection and the drive etc, but spending 4000$ on shears? What is the market for that? How many in the world would buy that?
😮 Very Interesting Not
SURPRISED JAPANESE
$3000 for scissors....I'd like to be a tiger with no sexuality instead of human please....please.
Hair cut with a $2 scissor and a $1000 scissor will be same quality if both of them are sharp 🙄
I love my Japanese hair shears. They are so sharp.
When your people made literally the best swords and knives for thousands of years yeeeah I’d imagine they can make a good pair of scissors 😂
Sad that england with Sheffield in particular, a city that specialises in steel making like scissors and knives got tossed in the garbage because of deindustrialization
Why do they always compare a product to its kindergarten counterpart? I mean come on. Who is still dumb enough to fall for that?
Japanese hair scissors, they don't seem to be working on Japanese people's haircuts😂😂
Hahaha they really said they made blades that don't wear down 😂 Japan just beat the laws of thermodynamics
I’m bald. The fact that someone would pay thousands for a single pair of scissors is baffling to me 😂
Hell turns out being bald is the most financially smart decision I ever made 😎 (it wasn’t my decision)
I have a lot of hair, but I feel the same way. I prefer paying more for quality, but there a line which I'm not willing to cross.
Every single things that made in japan are cost more than my entire wealth ... DAMN!!😮
Thats them hokage scissors 😂😂😂😂
Believe it!
Perfection✨
Overdoing it on another level
My hair scissors are decades old and I've never sharpened them. I doubt they're Japanese.
just regular scissor with a lot more extra steps 😂
Believe it! And at this cost you can make shadow clones too!
I'll stick to my $100 Italian hair shears
Let’s be honest. Standard professional hair shears does not cost $10. It cost a lot more than that.
😂 exactly
How else is this a.i. tramp supposed to add shock value?
Do they cost close to $2000, though?
Honest question.
@@viktormuerte they EASILY range from low-end 300 to 800$
So no, not 2000, but it's much higher than 10$ f**** dollars.
I've been barbering for 5 years so far. In my opinion on average a good pair of shears can be about 80-120 dollars. There are some that excellent quality that are cheaper too you just have to know what look for.
