"Leave anything for us ?" "Just Bodies"
Best ending ever
I like how the yellow Porsche gets wrecked and when Arnold leaves in it, it is in perfect shape.
TheDuke013 that’s how good the movie is
or how he rips the seat out of Cindy's car with his bare hands.
"Who eats Ice cream and THEN lunch?"
Um, only the coolest, buffest, log carrying dads ever!
Arnolds pizza place on UA-cam , lol
Probably that huge morbidly obese guy on the screen...
I have and proud
My Dad!
These dudes aren't stoners
If ya'll kids ever wondered what people did before there was internet. This is it. This is the stuff we did. These are the things we talked about.
Ryan Gosling they do. But they mostly do a lot of different things now. There are even some people who don't watch old movies or talk about them at all.
Yeah but we met in person, went to the video store, rented them, went home and watched it together and then talked about it. We didn't stream it separately then text about it.
Could not have said it better myself!
@vomittie The point was that the choices you speak of change the experience to be something different. Does it change it for the better, for the worse, we don't really know, but the choices change things.
@T-Bob well for one thing i would rather take water from the well cos the fact is the water is fresh spring water where as tap water is contaminated with chemicals and definitely doesn't taste as good as the well water
Vernon Wells plays the greatest Freddy Mercury ever
He played a better Power Rangers villain
Commando is one of my all-time favorite Arnold movies.
Agreed.
The Video Store must be next to "Lightning Fast Video Repair". :D

*THOSE HACK-FRAUDS!!!!!*
*NEVER FIXED MY VCR!!!*
I KNOW WHAT THAT IIIIIISSSSS!
Do they carry any Night Court tapes?
Maybe not, but the last tape of "The Day the Clown Cried"
For the love of VHS I love this series! Thank you Cinemassacre for such amazing and fresh content!
Agree! Easyer to make and great to watch!
+Claudio Paola
*A GREAT NEW SERIES!!!!*
Actually I think we said it around the same time and yours was more coherent and well written. I apologise.
I absolutely agree. This is slowly becoming my favorite show on the site! I actually dug out my old tapes & player to rewatch some of my favorite movies b/c of this show.
@Smokey McJoint "fresh" for Cinemassacre, i'm sure he means, James has always done movie reviews/discussions fully planned and scripted, this off-the-cuff style is really different for them, but as he stated he's doing this now to save time for his many other projects that are ongoing
Commando and bloodsport are the two supreme masterpieces of cheese action. They are cheesy and funny but also somehow awesome and actually good. I’ve seen so many action movies and none can hit the perfect sweet spot of those two movies. The perfect balance of horrible and awesome is like a yin yang. I think those two movies are the secret of life and the key to happiness. Crafted by god himself on the 7th day.
@@razorback7736 Nope
Those are both my favorite action movies! Commando has more action/violence, while Bloodsport has the better story.
Bolo was a bad ass. Bolo fighting Arnold could have been epic.
@@sykosteve777 Also the awsome kumate song.
I always preferred Kickboxer over Bloodsport.
Commando is one of my favorite childhood movies along with The Last Dragon and Big Trouble in Little China.
And so help me God if Hollywood ever tries to reboot or remake any of the three!
“Where’s sully?” “I let him go.” 😆
I'd like 'honest Arnold' "Where's, Sully?" "I dropped him off that cliff over there"
:D
best line in the movie
He became Charlie, and now prepares "Dinner Reservations" for special clients.
"Remember when I said I'd kill you last?"
"Yeah! You did!"
"I lied..."
Remember when i said i would watch this video last...i lied
skijumpnose wublululuaaaaaa!!!
Remember when I said I'd get ready for work and watch this video later... I lied.
I had to let him go
skijumpnose That was a good one! 😁
That's right, skijumpnose! You did!
They need to bring back Rental Reviews! About the only movie reviews I watch.
"Let off some steam, Bennett" is the greatest one-line-zinger in movie history.
heyitsadam- It's also the name of one of the greatest songs by Austrian Death Machine, too.
The guy in the vest would make a great biker in an 80s movie
1903tx Yes lol
+1903tx
A bad guy in a mad max movie?
THAT One-AHOLE the bad guy in Weird Science
An extra in Mask
one of the bumbling bikers in 'Every Which Way But Loose'
You gotta do suburban commando with hulk hogan!
If this becoming a series i'll be so happy
"Bennet" played the Mighty Wez in Road Warrior. Now that's a proppa villain!
Really enjoying this new series.
+Rhys Peregrine
*WE ALL ARE!!!!*
I'm real glad you finally did this!! Commando is probably my favorite movie hands down and I remember watching it as a kid as well. I still watch it occasionally.
You've never seen Predator???!!!!!
@@hardtymz2517 lol I know, I know. Both movies will always hold a special place for me. Grew up watching them with my dad.
He-Man rental review please?
oh hell yeah
a year later. Still waiting!
Oh man i miss video stores. Everything was a gamble and you just went by the cover. It was a treat. Yeah netflix is amazing but now it's not special. It's like eating pizza every day.
Everything sucks now. The video store was my favorite place.
There's no commitment with Netflix. You can spend more time browsing than watching. But you could be headed home from a rental store with the worst movie imaginable and you were still going to watch the entire thing.
Looks like some of these hosts eat pizza every day.
Commando is one of the best action films of all time, no doubt. It has always been one of my absolute favorites. I think out of all of Arnold's films this one and True Lies are right at the top along with Terminator 1 and 2 and Total Recall. This is a great series, definitely hope it continues!
Carolina Eric not to mention Jingle all the way
Mr Sparkle who could forget end of days
Hey? Don't forget Conan the Barbarian.
_"Grant me revenge!"_ Still sends shivers.
Junior deserves an honorable mention
Don't forget Predator
The steel drums! I loved the music in this movie!
the soundtrack always sounded identical to the 48 hours soundtrack to me. I love the steel drums nonetheless.
This needs some Rich Evans. Everything needs some Rich Evans.
Raif Nation Oddly enough, if that were on a t-shirt, it would be something Rich Evans needs. ;)
They should have Rich Evans on
+Raif Nation
His contract is with redlettermedia, a contract by Mike Stoklasasa. Rich Evans is ©RedLetterMedia.
So mike owns rich.
James Rolfe for BotW
Is Rental Review replacing Plinkett Reviews?
I eat VHS for breakfast, and right now...
I'm very HUNGRY!
* Insert VHS tape *
Are you a VCR?
I love Commando, when you guys mentioned the Freddie Mercury (Vernon Wells) lookalike, I couldn't stop laughing as I used to think this myself! Great commentary and loving this series guys!
Love the set!
Mikey Gaming- I love this set, as well.
The "equipment" scene was almost perfectly copied into the 8-bit game "Operation Wolf". Hell, the whole game is probably inspired by that movie as well. :D
Now that's it's over had to go back to where it began😥
I freaking love Cinemassacre rental reviews. Please keep this up!
Duuude a Commando sequel with his daughter would be so badass.
+Arom
*PRETTY-EPIC!!!!*
They should have both of Arnold's action movie daughters (Alyssa Milano & Eliza Dushku) teaming up with him, revealing that Commando is actually a prequel to True Lies.
Milano has to rescue Arnie (who's being held captive) inside an elderly folks home
𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰 is the quintessential Reagan-era action movie.
Man I just couldn't even imagine living in James's shoes for a day. I'm so fuckin' envious!
As a firearms enthusiast I have to laugh at how so much they get wrong in this movie. This movie is so awesome, I miss when movies could be slathered in cheese and all you needed was Arnold shooting a machine gun one handed while bad guys flew back 10 feet into the air. And who can forget Bennett?
+Tadicuslegion78
Now, it would have to be:
*ULTRA-REALISTIC, DARK, AND GRITTY!!!!!* Nowadays people aren't into cheesy, over the top type movies. Weither it be action or any genre. *ESPECIALLY SUPER-HEROES!!*
[*COUGH* Spiderman(2002) *COUGH*]
Tadicuslegion78 with infinite ammo hahaha!! Classic film man! Love it!
I always loved how the guns on his back bent a little when he was suiting up, as they were rubber props during running sequences. Even in the beginning when they catch Matrix, one of the m16 barrels shoved into his chest visibly bends.
THAT One-AHOLE don't forget every movie has to be pg-13 as well
Bennet ? he should let out some steam 👍
The intro makes these videos just that much more awesome!
You know what's bullshit?
… Not having Cinemassacre's Rental Reviews back in the 90's.
I wish rental reviews would come back
Hell yeah!! I have watched this movie, start to finish, probably somewhere around 100 times. It has to be my favorite Arnold movie, for the same reason you had called it like a burger. Just does so much right, as an 80s action movie fanatic. Gotta love all the outtakes for one liners at Bennett's death.
The sound track is just one long song, with different parts being used for different scenes. The exception would be Power Station "We Fight for Love". Fun fact, at the time of this song and movie, the lead singer was Michael Des Barres, also known as Murdoc from MacGuyver. I believe an episode of Miami Vice is connected somehow also, lol... Now I'm headed down the rabbit hole
Love this episode! But where is that He-Man review!?
Please bring this series back.
Plz do a Roadhouse ep, thats the greatest shit movie of all time!
ivan martoni I love telling my wife that Roadhouse is the greatest movie ever made! Drives her nuts. Love to see that episode.
Dragon BillyLee Me and my dad luv this movie! We have to watch it at least 3 times a year lol. It got some os the best lines ever too like “pain dont hurt” and “you’re too stupid to have a good time!”. Classic.
Not shit in any way
"This place has a sign above the urinal that says, Don't eat the big white man".
Your wish was granted... enjoy.
Everyone mentions Arnold as the inspiration for the Contra game cover. But how about Stallone (as Rambo) as the inspiration for the other guy on that same cover? Am I the only person who ever wanted really bad to have a crossover movie with both John Rambo and John Matrix? Too late now but damm, that would have been something to see!
I really love the way you guys constantly talk over each other all the time
VOORHEES Shopping Centre lol
I thought it was a reference to Lark Voorhies.
There is a vorhees new New Jersey
Voorhees MEMORIAL shopping center
Claudio Paola uuu
Its Voorhees Nj not a Friday the 13th reference...and Voorhees is actually next to Haddonfield
2:58 Mike's Face
Lol fuckin Mike
Nathan :)
"Let off some steam Bennett!" I met Bennett (Vernon Wells) in 2015. Nice guy!
Commando is basically 80's cinema in a nutshell. The best one-liners, non stop over-the-top action, Arnold kicking ass, tacky cliche badguys, and he's a family man who loves his daughter. lol I didn't see it until well after other movies like the Terminators and Predator, but I definitely rank Commando in his top movie roles for sure just purely on the amount of bang you get for your buck.
True that
I really want to buy this series on the new VHS DVD box set. It would fit really Well.
+Bryce Mckenzie
*I WOULD BUY IT!!!!*
THAT One-AHOLE
After commenting this, I went to buy one and only then realized: All the ones I wanted were UK Exclusive. Drat.
Any time commando is on tv, I have to watch it. It’s just so good. Movies aren’t made like it anymore
In regards to what The Angry Video Game Nerd said at 6:27-6:41, he was only 5 when 'Commando' came out...
Hey it's Red Letter Cinemassacre!
+SirRunk
CinemaMedia?
Title needs work
Your face needs work.
OHHHHHHHH!
SirRunk red letter massacre could be a good horror title.
This was great! And yes, Ive said for YEARS that Commando is the greatest action flick ever made, period.
Commando is unironically one of the best Action movies. No, I'm not saying it because it's cheesy and "SO 80's!" It hits all the right notes in what an Action movie should be -- and it has Arnold.
+KeeperOfProphecies
*YUP!!!!*
Hey Cinemassacre! Great review as always! You guys are masters of the craft. Fresh content(well, I'm on a backlog) and it's always entertaining.
That burger analogy is spot-on.
Masters of the universe review please! I'm dying for it!!! Like if you want this review.
This is one of them VHS's I actually wore out as a kid. Loved it.
The intro to the arcade game Operation Wolf was probably inspired by this movie where Arnold is suiting up with all those chop scenes.
Flight of the Navitagor next?
Commando has one of the Best One liners ever.."Let off some Steam, Bennett"
I dont think Mike even watches these movies before they review them. He's like the dude that would be at the video store anyway, just happens to be there for the reviews.
I'm pretty sure he's already knowledgeable enough about most of the films he sits in on for the discussion.
Your childhood selves would be so proud of your present time selves.
Hands down best action film ever!
To quote our movie hero "Wrong .....(bang)"
Metal gear was inspired by the escape from New York and escape from LA the character was named Snake Plisken and in the second game they would do a favorable nod towards the movie by naming a character "Iroquois Pliskin "
James is the King of Nostalgia.
The guy they mentioned who was the weapon sales man in terminator was also the delivery guy in small soldiers
You know fun fact the mall in Commando is the same one you see in Terminator 2 and it was also in the movie you guys mentioned, Chopping Mall.
Die Hard is actually the result of a reworked Commando 2. They were going to base Commando 2 on the novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" but Arnold wasn't interested.
I'm still waiting for my he man rental review guys
Its like Red Letter Media's Re:View and Half in the Bag had a baby, no complaints here just happy to see more uploads from James
Kieran's Arnold impersonations are fucking hilarious!
*JAMES, PLEASE HAVE THE LONG HAIRED DUDE MORE OFTEN. HE'S HILARIOUS!*
The Intro..LMAO!!! TRUE ORIGINAL! Love'n it. Need more of this!!
How, exactly do you figure that Cindy "rats out" Arnold Schwarzenegger at 9:29-10:04?...
Bennett(Vernon Wells) was the Crazy Mohawk Biker in The Road Warrior.
Rambo Commando
The opening is priceless.
One of my fav Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. I remember watching it as a kid when it showed on TV in the 90s.
Can you get a membership card at cinemassacre rentals
Every time I see Sully I think of "Warrrrrriorssss, come out to plaaaayyyyyy!"
Love this one so much had to leave comment. Love what you do, love what you guys do so much. Better than most!!
Oh Miller Lite thats wheres its ats
And don't forget the grenade that blew up half the complex and all the grenades that made people do Jackie Chan flips lol
Vernon Wells that plays Bennett also plays the bad-ass (no pun intended) Wez in Mad max 2 the roadwarrior where he does some serious stunts. His chainmail I have always taken as a sign that he is a very serious and skilled knife-fighte in Commando.
I love this review series... I hope 🤞 you guys do Terminator 2
James Rolfe has that appealing Dean Cain smile from Lois and Clark.
GREAT STUFF! AS ALWAYS! KEEP EM COMING!
Just so you know Vernon wells the actor who plays Bennett in this also played main biker henchman "wez" in the Road Warrior so that means Mr. Wells arguably has two of the best villain roles of the eighties. Very interesting that he auditioned for AVGN movie! He would have been the most famous actor in the film.
Commando + Rambo = Contra= guaranteed billion dollar box office.
Super cool. I remember catching bits of this movie and watching Nostalgia Critic's review for his "Schwarzenegger Month" videos. This movie looks like the most manliest action movie ever made. All action and barely a story. Gonna have to find some time to watch it. Great episode.
What song was Justin talking about at 30:48-31:16?...
The Caldor at Voorhees Memorial Plaza used to be a Children's Palace.
i went to vorhees and couldnt find it, this place still open??
A gun shop with a quad rocket launcher on a rack. God I miss the 80s.
What song/songs are playing in the background during this video?...
Dudes didn't even go through the epic Cooke fist fight at the motel.
Please please please make this a cinemassacre series regular.
Sully = Casey neitstat
You guys made me want to watch Commando again (for like the billionth time). Going to watch now, thanks.
Rae Dawn Chong is in another great movie called Beat Street. I highly recommend it if you want to see some early 80's grittiness of New York.
She's Tommy Chong's daughter. (Chong from Cheech & Chong)
