I'm a Hufflepuff. One time when I went to the Making of Harry Potter, the lady asked "Any Hufflepuffs?" and I was the only person to raise my hand. I'm a Hufflepuff and I'm not afraid to show it. Also, did you know, in one of the Sorting Hat's songs, the hat said that the people who don't have any distinguishing personalities (i.e. brave, smart, cunning) were put in Hufflepuff, so that means if someone was REALLY brave, REALLY smart, *and* REALLY cunning, they would be put in Hufflepuff because they had to be more brave than smart and cunning, more cunning than smart and brave, or more smart than brave and cunning to be put in Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Ravenclaw. Therefor, Hufflepuff *CAN* be smarter, braver, and more cunning than anyone else, even all three, BECAUSE they were put in Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is probably the most powerful and deadly house if you think about it. Hufflepuffs can befriend nearly everyone because of lack of prejudice by our nature. That means if someone picks on a Hufflepuff, even though we ourselves chose not to fight, the other houses will rise to defend them (see comments below if you don't believe me). So they can strike fear into someone by doing nothing except befriending those that seam unfriendable. They have the power through trust and loyalty to have Gryffindors, Slytherins, and Ravenclaws (kind of iffy, but it just kind of depends on the Ravenclaw, it's more of the Gryffindors and Slytherins) to get on one common goal and do nothing except be nice to them. We can literally kill someone with kindness.

Hufflepuffs are pretty badass. After all, our mascot is the honey badger. Has anyone SEEN Honey Badgers: Masters of Mayhem? It's a documentary about why honey badgers are awesome little shits, are really inventive with what they have, and are really creative. I highly recommend it. THAT'S the true Hufflepuff spirit.

Actually, as a Hufflepuff who's had a hard time accepting she was one I must admit I'm even angry that Rowling herself threw so much shade against my house, I mean: you just can't despise your own creation like that! She looks down upon everything that doesn't meet her own standards in a way that is ridiculously egocentric. Look at the way she's been treating the Slytherin house all the time... Let alone Ravenclaw, look at how she described Marietta and Cho and take into account that Luna was the outcast who preferred Gryffindors over Ravenclaws.

I never understood why hufflepuff was seen as the worst of the houses. Hufflepuff is awesome! I actually like all houses and Gryffindor the least, but that's just because if there is merch of the houses most of the time it is only Gryffindor and it seems as if people who don't know much about HP are like "yeah this is the house where Harry was in right? yeah this is the good one". I also really dislike it if Slytherins are seen as only bullies or evil because they are not. btw I am a Ravenclaw xP

You know I have cussed out some Ravenclaws on the net, I have come close to literally face smashing quite a few Gryffindors. But, Hufflepuffs, I have never had a real problem with them. I am mainly a Hufflepuff, but I consider myself a SlytherPuff. I have some Slytherin aspects that are obvious, like I never give up, and want to be the best. This is why I always said that on top of being friendly and loyal, Hufflepuffs have a mix of the rest of the houses as well, it's just that their loyalty tops everything else.
***** I got sorted by a sorting hat test (back in junior high) that was like a psychology test. With numbers ranking your feelings and opinions from 1 to 9. when i first took this test I somewhat lied so I could get into Griffindor. *I got Ravenclaw* When I decided to be more truthful in my answers, I got into *Slytherin*. In the test they tell you how close you were to being in one of the other houses. In my first test I was closer to being in Slytherin and Hufflepuff than Gryffindor in which I was aiming for. And in recent test the difference between me being in Gryffindor and Slytherin, were in single digits. While for Ravenclaw I was 20 points or so away, and over 30 points from Hufflepuff. And to tell you the truth I wasn't thrilled at being in Slytherin house at first. But when I looked at my results,and the words typed on the screen caught my eye. *Loyalty* *Determination* and *cunning* (I really like the cunning part). And a smile grew on my face. THIS IS MY HOUSE. MINE! In the end I think it came down to some sort of pride. The feeling of having something as your own thing and no one else. That and I have been pissed off be certain people and certain houses too many times, *so excuse me for labeling whom I've come to dislike.*
Actually in Harry Potter, no one made fun of Hufflepuff. Cedric was a Hufflepuff and they treated him greatly, I don't recall anyone saying Hufflepuffs were weak or anything.

I'm in Hufflepuff by about 70% of the many many quizzes I took (including Pottermore). I love being a Hufflepuff. The colors took awhile to grow on me due to where I went to school. My HS rivals(for the last 100 years) were the Yellowjackets.

Detona Tesoni Yes, but there's elements there that if he'd been sorted into Slytherin or at least hadn't had such a negative look on them could have developed more in that direction. Plus, I personally see chess as something that partially involves cunning, but I suppose that depends on how you play. Also planning ahead is a part of being cunning. Just because there's more cunning in poker doesn't mean there's nothing in chess.
I remember my first year. I was disappointed that I wasn't in Griffindor or at least Ravenclaw. But after the older students sneaked some dessert and butterbear from the kitchens and gave us this show (which we would do every year for first years), I grew to be a proud Hufflepuff. We might have to tap on some barrels and crawl a little (always hated the crawling ) to get to our common room, but at least we don't have to answer a riddle to simply go to bed... (My friend was a Ravenclaw, she told me about it. :/ )
Last I heard they were working on the one for Ravenclaw. They did have the one that was done earlier, but they wanted to do one that was on par with the other house videos they did. I think they were waiting on some funding and a "special guest" for the video. =) (And yay! Go Ravenclaw!)
Hufflepuff's remind me of bees. They are bright, hard working and dedicated. They work together and are very loyal but if you swat at a bee you are going to get stung. So why does nearly everyone i know run away from bees yet laugh at Hufflepuffs. I'm not a Hufflepuff but i hate it when people think they are dumb because they aren't.
I was told to choose between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor I chose Ravenclaw even though everyone loves Gryffindor and my school uniform is a black jumper with a maroon and gold tie with a lion crest for a badge so it would be very practical if I got Gryffindor, Ravenclaw is just more my personality :-)

Personally, I was a Twilight fan before I was a Harry Potter fan. I really am not all too fond of it anymore. I've just grown out of it. I still like the minor, side characters, because they ARE BRILLIANT. I'm not remotely crazy about Bella. But Alice and Kate, the Volturi, and all of the characters that I lovve so much. Actually, as a Hufflepuff who's had a hard time accepting she was one I must admit I'm even angry that Rowling herself threw so much shade against my house, I mean: you just can't despise your own creation like that! She looks down upon everything that doesn't meet her own standards in a way that is ridiculously egocentric. Look at the way she's been treating the Slytherin house all the time... Let alone Ravenclaw, look at how she described Marietta and Cho and take into account that Luna was the outcast who preferred Gryffindors over Ravenclaws.

I am mainly a Hufflepuff, but I consider myself a SlytherPuff. I have some Slytherin aspects that are obvious, like I never give up, and want to be the best. This is why I always said that on top of being friendly and loyal, Hufflepuffs have a mix of the rest of the houses as well, it's just that their loyalty tops everything else.

***** I got sorted by a sorting hat test (back in junior high) that was like a psychology test. With numbers ranking your feelings and opinions from 1 to 9.
when i first took this test I somewhat lied so I could get into Griffindor. *I got Ravenclaw*
When I decided to be more truthful in my answers, I got into *Slytherin*.
In the test they tell you how close you were to being in one of the other houses.
In my first test I was closer to being in Slytherin and Hufflepuff than Gryffindor in which I was aiming for.
And in recent test the difference between me being in Gryffindor and Slytherin, were in single digits. While for Ravenclaw I was 20 points or so away, and over 30 points from Hufflepuff.
And to tell you the truth I wasn't thrilled at being in Slytherin house at first.
But when I looked at my results,and the words typed on the screen caught my eye. *Loyalty* *Determination* and *cunning* (I really like the cunning part). And a smile grew on my face. THIS IS MY HOUSE. MINE! In the end I think it came down to some sort of pride. The feeling of having something as your own thing and no one else.
That and I have been pissed off be certain people and certain houses too many times, *so excuse me for labeling whom I've come to dislike.*
Actually in Harry Potter, no one made fun of Hufflepuff. Cedric was a Hufflepuff and they treated him greatly, I don't recall anyone saying Hufflepuffs were weak or anything.

Detona Tesoni Yes, but there's elements there that if he'd been sorted into Slytherin or at least hadn't had such a negative look on them could have developed more in that direction. Plus, I personally see chess as something that partially involves cunning, but I suppose that depends on how you play. Also planning ahead is a part of being cunning. Just because there's more cunning in poker doesn't mean there's nothing in chess.
I remember my first year. I was disappointed that I wasn't in Griffindor or at least Ravenclaw. But after the older students sneaked some dessert and butterbear from the kitchens and gave us this show (which we would do every year for first years), I grew to be a proud Hufflepuff.
We might have to tap on some barrels and crawl a little (always hated the crawling ) to get to our common room, but at least we don't have to answer a riddle to simply go to bed... (My friend was a Ravenclaw, she told me about it. :/ )

Hufflepuff's remind me of bees. They are bright, hard working and dedicated. They work together and are very loyal but if you swat at a bee you are going to get stung. So why does nearly everyone i know run away from bees yet laugh at Hufflepuffs. I'm not a Hufflepuff but i hate it when people think they are dumb because they aren't.

Bella is so weak just the opposite of both Hermione and Ginny!!! Snape a Slytherin (my house) is much, much , much braver than anyone in the Twilight Saga. Also 'saga' means a tale of bravery sacrifice etc which Twilight is definitely not. Personally, I was a Twilight fan before I was a Harry Potter fan. I really am not all too fond of it anymore. I've just grown out of it. I still like the minor, side characters, because they ARE BRILLIANT. I'm not remotely crazy about Bella. But Alice and Kate, the Volturi, and all of the characters that I lovve so much.
