The first thing our new Corso learned when he came into the house was to respect and love our young boys. The first thing my young boys learned when Nero joined our family was that they love the dog, but he isn't a jungle gym. Taught them that they can't pounce on him and surprise him and he learned boundaries with the kids (can't steal the food from their little hands, for one). I've seen too many people seemingly let their kids do whatever they want to the dog. That's where trouble starts. We got 10 great years with Nero. A bad breeder sent him to me with his rear feet turned out, which led to arthritis through his later years. Still wouldn't trade a day with him for another dog, though.

I want a cane corso, for my first dog and already talked to the breeder. After I did a little bit more research, I found this channel. After watching I realised a cane corso needs an experienced owner. Although I literally knew all the info I needed on cane corsos, And I could understand body language, And I could impliment manners into my dog and socialise my dog properly. I decided to get another not as experienced needy dog. Right now I'm looking for A german shepherd or english Mastiff. Thanks Jason and B dubs ( Bruce Wayne) for helping me realise this. We lost three dogs in seven years. The first, Peace, my first love, was a pit bull; he was 15. The second, Grace, was a cane corso. She was a very vicious dog to anyone outside of the family. She attacked my aunt, who was about 80 at the time. She tried to attack my nephews. They were 3 and 6 at that time. We had to put her down, because company wasn’t safe. Yes. We took precautions, but if a door was left open by accident... My baby was Samson. He just passed from lime disease, which attacked his kidneys. Grace and Samson were brother and sister. I said all of that to say this: we did not train and socialize them. We learned the hard way that you CAN NOT have that breed without proper training,which includes socialization. They are the most lovable dogs you’ll ever encounter, but you have to respect their nature and size with training. To do anything less is unfair to you both. We want another one, but I refuse to get one unless we’re truly ready to invest the time necessary for training. We did everything else right. They always went to the vet, had the best food we could find ( I didn’t know about a raw diet then) and so much love, but we failed where it counted so much. Please, if you are considering this breed, do your research. Jason’s videos are a great start. I discovered them one week after Samson passed. He talks about training a lot for a reason. I wish I had known better. Thank you Jason for the light hearted but very informative videos.

I so want this dog but my girlfriend has a phobia of any dogs small or big... since she was little she got bit and it ruined her experience. I finally introduced her to my dogs she was doing fine. They passed away havent had dogs for a while. Next we visited my aunts house who has a damn dog and it was doing fine with her and she was finally giving in to her phobia until BAAM dog bit her and now back to square ONE. She wants a puppy of her own a small one and i do to.. but the corso is what i prefer... i dont know what to do!!! What do you think???

My first interaction with a Cane Corso was at the dog park and he was the sweetest, most well behaved big boy ever. Same with the two dobermans that were there. The only dog that seemed to be an issue was a 6 pound Chihuahua. He tried to attack almost all the big dogs, including my service dog
As a woman noone had to convince me over a big dog vs a small dog. And their temperament is amazing. My corso is 7 years old now. His name is Bruno. He is so docile but protective. Once he gets to know you he never forgets you.

Lol Here's a stupid story: When I met my exfiancee, I had just graduated college and moved away from the only home I had for my first 21 years. I had gotten my first miniature dachshund a year prior, I wanted a corso back then but my momma convinced me to get a small dog since my life would be changing so much and a small dog would be low maintenance and my first bf convinced me that mini doxies are awesome(only good thing to come out of that relationship lol). So shit happened and I dumped him, few months later he weaseled his way back in and SURPRISE I now had another mini doxie. Then he was a douche (again) so I dumped him again and 6 months later when he finally broke me down again SURPRISE doxie #3 had entered my family. He would always say the stupidest shit... what else would a douche say?... and it would be things like "you definitely need to sign a prenup"... he had NOTHING, his dad did but he didn't... shit, I lived on my own and paid for everything unless he had daddy's credit card... anyway... His other favorite thing was "when I lock it down and put a ring on your finger its gonna be 2 out of 3". Meaning that if I wanted to marry him I would HAVE TO get rid of TWO of my guys. I would always tell him that he better not propose to me then. He said that I acted like I loved them more than him (I did!) And that he should be #1 in my life... he didn't appreciate me telling him that he didn't even break my top 5! I told him that I decided to bring these babies into my life and that nothing and NO ONE was going to change the promise that I made them that I would be their momma for the rest of their lives. This was a very toxic relationship. He was a violent, evil, lying, cheating pos that caught me when I was young and weak and I allowed him to do way more than I normally would have... I told him that if he couldn't love my dogs then he couldn't love me. I said that "my nuggets had never hurt me, they loved me regardless of anything and that they have been/will be with me long after you will". I was 100% correct on that end! My babies are all senior citizens now, my baby boy will be 13 soon! The crazy shit was that he almost bought me ANOTHER dog so that I would stay with him! He proposed, I accepted because I'm a squirrel and love shiny things, and less than 2 months later I chucked him ass first out of my house and out of my life. That was probably the best decision of my life... after getting my three little nuggets that is! A corso will be joining my little family as soon as my medical issues are settled, and I can't wait!
I want one so desperately! We have a large breed bull mastiff mix. And he is a cuddle bugs. I decided to wait until I retire at the end of the year when I am able to dedicate quality time to training. Also from what I have read the Corso (Velcro Dog) has horrible separation anxiety and would prefer not to have those issues. Thanks to both of you and of course Bruce for your insight.
The women ( Our ladies ) take over once they get used to the best companion ever ; the Italian Mastiff / Cane Corso. It’s funny the women become possessive after first having doubts. I love it. Shout out to all the women in the game. Especially the walkers ( handlers ) and trainers in the numerous championship and Title contest worldwide.
My husband was trying to convince me of getting a Cane Corso and I wasn’t giving in. Until I saw one in person. It was full grown but so well-behaved and calm. I fell in love. We just got our first puppy two months ago. I’m completely in love with him. I can’t imagine getting any other breed now. We’re excited to start training this month.
Hey not trying to be a dick but training can and should start from day 1. That can just be simply saying stay and pat the puppy or holding a treat up and bring it back over the head while saying sit. They naturally will sit. It doesn't need to be intense training, also you can start toilet training from day 1, when it wakes up/eats/drinks take the dog straight outside and say toilet/potty or whatever you'd like to be the commamd word to be. When they master the command you could add in hand signals and then just use hand signals if you desire. Just a thought. Either way though you have started or about to start training and i commend you for that, so good stuff 🖐 high 5 for you 😎
Get your wife/girlfriend involved in the process. My husband chose the breed and I chose our breeder. When we actually got ours, I literally took two weeks off to bond with the puppy. And that made all the difference in the world. As our Corso is just slightly smaller than me, weight wise, it was important for her to listen and mind me. I feed her, train her, walk her, etc. As a result, we have a wonderful balanced dog.

Thanks to all three of you - in my case, the task at hand is to convince the husband :-) Funny that it was mentioned that Jason grew up with an Akita, just after I thought about Corsos appearing far more safe to handle (for their owners, that is) than Akitas. Would be fabulous to hear more about your experience growing up with that breed, but, of course, I'm super-thankful already to watch your videos with Bruce Wayne. What a cool name!

Here's a stupid story:
When I met my exfiancee, I had just graduated college and moved away from the only home I had for my first 21 years. I had gotten my first miniature dachshund a year prior, I wanted a corso back then but my momma convinced me to get a small dog since my life would be changing so much and a small dog would be low maintenance and my first bf convinced me that mini doxies are awesome(only good thing to come out of that relationship lol). So shit happened and I dumped him, few months later he weaseled his way back in and SURPRISE I now had another mini doxie. Then he was a douche (again) so I dumped him again and 6 months later when he finally broke me down again SURPRISE doxie #3 had entered my family. He would always say the stupidest shit... what else would a douche say?... and it would be things like "you definitely need to sign a prenup"... he had NOTHING, his dad did but he didn't... shit, I lived on my own and paid for everything unless he had daddy's credit card... anyway... His other favorite thing was "when I lock it down and put a ring on your finger its gonna be 2 out of 3". Meaning that if I wanted to marry him I would HAVE TO get rid of TWO of my guys. I would always tell him that he better not propose to me then. He said that I acted like I loved them more than him (I did!) And that he should be #1 in my life... he didn't appreciate me telling him that he didn't even break my top 5! I told him that I decided to bring these babies into my life and that nothing and NO ONE was going to change the promise that I made them that I would be their momma for the rest of their lives. This was a very toxic relationship. He was a violent, evil, lying, cheating pos that caught me when I was young and weak and I allowed him to do way more than I normally would have... I told him that if he couldn't love my dogs then he couldn't love me. I said that "my nuggets had never hurt me, they loved me regardless of anything and that they have been/will be with me long after you will". I was 100% correct on that end! My babies are all senior citizens now, my baby boy will be 13 soon! The crazy shit was that he almost bought me ANOTHER dog so that I would stay with him! He proposed, I accepted because I'm a squirrel and love shiny things, and less than 2 months later I chucked him ass first out of my house and out of my life. That was probably the best decision of my life... after getting my three little nuggets that is!
A corso will be joining my little family as soon as my medical issues are settled, and I can't wait!

I want one so desperately! We have a large breed bull mastiff mix. And he is a cuddle bugs. I decided to wait until I retire at the end of the year when I am able to dedicate quality time to training. Also from what I have read the Corso (Velcro Dog) has horrible separation anxiety and would prefer not to have those issues. Thanks to both of you and of course Bruce for your insight.

The women ( Our ladies ) take over once they get used to the best companion ever ; the Italian Mastiff / Cane Corso. It’s funny the women become possessive after first having doubts. I love it. Shout out to all the women in the game. Especially the walkers ( handlers )

Damn this yt channel is so underrated
My husband was trying to convince me of getting a Cane Corso and I wasn’t giving in. Until I saw one in person. It was full grown but so well-behaved and calm. I fell in love. We just got our first puppy two months ago. I’m completely in love with him. I can’t imagine getting any other breed now. We’re excited to start training this month.

Hey not trying to be a dick but training can and should start from day 1. That can just be simply saying stay and pat the puppy or holding a treat up and bring it back over the head while saying sit. They naturally will sit. It doesn't need to be intense training, also you can start toilet training from day 1, when it wakes up/eats/drinks take the dog straight outside and say toilet/potty or whatever you'd like to be the commamd word to be. When they master the command you could add in hand signals and then just use hand signals if you desire. Just a thought. Either way though you have started or about to start training and i commend you for that, so good stuff 🖐 high 5 for you 😎

Get your wife/girlfriend involved in the process. My husband chose the breed and I chose our breeder. When we actually got ours, I literally took two weeks off to bond with the puppy. And that made all the difference in the world. As our Corso is just slightly smaller than me, weight wise, it was important for her to listen and mind me. I feed her, train her, walk her, etc. As a result, we have a wonderful balanced dog.
