That's the problem with fans. All they want is cross overs and love affairs. No offense intended but how about we have some good plot and rich characters. The two painful years we got of STD lacked any Star Trek at all.
Picard and Janeway???? They will end up on different sisdes!! Both great actors!! X men I said Picard! No one knew! Orange is the new black..... I said janeway!! No one knew!! This Russian janeway is to dangerous for this Picard and Riker put together!! N you know 7of 9 ain’t going to let janeway down....
I was having a fan girl heart attack right before getting my picture taken with her. After the photo was taken i asked if i could hug her because i loved her so much. I nearly died when she hugged me. This convention was so great
That was you? I saw that and thought I should ask to hug her, but then I was in a daze when it was my turn and forgot EVERYTHING, even to take off my boots so I wouldn't be that much taller than her...
She was. Sadly I was rushed through so fast, my brain had barely registered that I was there when I was already ushered away. I'll be better prepared next time :D
You're going to have so much fun. Everyone made me feel so welcome and I felt right at home. As if I'd found my kind of people in exactly the right place. There are such warmth and mutual respect. I think I was grinning like an imbecile when I received my first respectful nod when I was in my Uniform. An indescribable feeling. I've always wanted to be there, but then I was suddenly one of them and it felt..comfortable, for a lack of a better word. Comfortable and at home.
I thought that I was the only person who noticed that Seven of Nine made the Captain Janeway character go from good to best. Glad to hear Kate Mulgrew also say that.
The interplay between these two characters, I just loved. I remember years later when I heard on the grapevine how they didn't get along so well off-stage, I thought to myself, "Well, you'd never know it watching them and how they've created this unique bond." Both of these actresses are fine artists (not to mention, they had great writing).
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Kate Mulgrew is one of my all-time favorite actors/actresses out there. I loved her as Janeway; I love her as Red. The meat she puts into these characters -- I keep coming back. :o)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It means the world to me, beeing a big fan of Kate Mulgrew. Hope to be able to save enough money to go to a Star Trek convention one day. Love from a Swede
Lovely to hear Kate talk so openly and not being shy to speak her mind. It was also lovely in its own way to hear some positions I disagreed with and others I felt exactly the same on - for that showed I was listening to a fully fledged, self-assured, person rather than a persona adopted for public display. Janeway is likely my favourite Captain from all the Star Trek series - she blended the best of Kirk and Picard for me. For she was a fighter and a diplomat and her choosing what came to the fore, as the situations unfolded, was fascinating.
I have always had a respect for Kate due to Janeway and Red, as characters she brought to life. . . But watching her command this stage, relate to the audience, share personal insights and inspirations is amazing! Sorry it took me 3 years to watch this. What an amazing individual! Lastly, having a mother suffering form dementia and watching my father take care of his lifelong companion, I can not wait to read her book. Thank you!
Amazing! Thank you Heather. It's great to see Kate talk about Janeway. I love Voyager and think Kate was an amazing Captain. I hope you're having a great day and that we might see some more panel videos from you. 🖖
Kate Mulgrew is a tour de force! She is so in tune with the audience and listens carefully before responding. A great Star Trek captain and a great personality too. Thanks for filming it Heather ! :-) x
I've been Re-watching Voyager lately, and after watching the series finale, I really think they could have made a really interesting feature film based on Voyager. We could have seen what happened to the crew and they could have had one more adventure in the Delta quadrant.
Holy Jesus, first questioner is a third year med student (third year is the widowmaker). They have NO time, for anything. And she's still testing. Yet she came to see Janeway.
I appreciate Kate Mulgrew's speech to the second single mother about NOT concealing the hardship and how it will make true character develop in her children from the struggle. I contrast this with being the sons of a wealthy man and what an entitled attitude they would have about life...
Orange Is The New Black is great show but why is she talking about her OITNB character at Star Trek Vegas? That show has it's own die hard following and conventions.
Oh hell yeah Kate listens to Jordan Peterson. So awesome in the true sense of the word, I knew she was my favorite captain (besides sir Stewart) for a reason :p
I’m hoping Janeway shows up in the Picard show
@Troy Mendez Picard is helping the writers. It will be a real trek this time.

Yeah, i was a Talaxian. My fiance was dressed as Captain Janeway.
Kate was so amazing, wasnt she? 💜

I'm so glad to read this because I'm going to STLV2019 and I wonder what that's going to feel like.

I love how free she is and willing to speak her mind whenever she wants.

My captain now and forever !

She influenced a lot. She added so much to the lives of people.
Hola la serie está aun vigente, no hay quien la iguale.
good job
She is absolutely DIVINE!
Kate should do a TED talk on he life and about motherhood and public speaking.
Ahhhh it's KATE MULGREW!!!!!!!!
I'd love to hear and see Mulgrew in Star Trek online if she has the time.
Class act
34:20 - LOVE Murder, She Wrote and Angela Lansbury!
Holy Jesus, first questioner is a third year med student (third year is the widowmaker). They have NO time, for anything. And she's still testing. Yet she came to see Janeway.
@Bill Woo: They should have shut off the right side microphone after the medical student. It just got weird after her.
Wow. Never heard a Star Trek actor speak so reverentially of the fan base as she did at the end!
Hi Heather, do you happen to have video of the Women in Star Trek 2018 convention with Marina Sirtis?
Yes, I got that panel and will be uploading it soon.
I appreciate Kate Mulgrew's speech to the second single mother about NOT concealing the hardship and how it will make true character develop in her children from the struggle. I contrast this with being the sons of a wealthy man and what an entitled attitude they would have about life...
I guess of a lot of (rude) people didn't want to sit through Kate's talk.
Orange Is The New Black is great show but why is she talking about her OITNB character at Star Trek Vegas? That show has it's own die hard following and conventions.
Just came here to hear her real accent lol
The interviewer's desk seems a little too high. It's almost like we only see the neck up. Either than or he's reclining back and sorta slouching.
Shout-out to Jordan Peterson at 26m32s ua-cam.com/video/gObB7YHW6do/v-deo.htmlm9s
26:33 Did she really just say she recently fell in love with Jordan Peterson? That's going to be a quick, embarrassing fall...
Oh hell yeah Kate listens to Jordan Peterson. So awesome in the true sense of the word, I knew she was my favorite captain (besides sir Stewart) for a reason :p
