@@dominomon7117 In a previous video, some dimwits claimed the very thick offcut piece bent because he hit it with a hammer, not because of the internal stress of the steel. He trains with a hacksaw regularely, but he's not THAT strong.
Your v-cut reminded me of how I modified shop bought drill vise. I didn't have anything to do a v-cut, but I did have plenty of drill bits and scrap. I just selected a drill I won't use and with the jaws clamped on a piece of scrap, I drilled the division between the fixed jaw and scrap. It worked for me! 😁
Be back watching your videos after more than a year. Glade your still have the Sieg X2.7l that I was watching you modify with genious ideas. Unfortunatly while I promise to do the same mods as yours the mill is still in the box due to lake of place in the garrage. hopefully I might move to a new home this year and have the chance to rewind your video about the X2.7 l mods . Well top videos! Keep up with the good pace :)
small little thing i use for keeping my parallels spaced, i use a piece of shipping strap bent as a V shipping straps are spring steel and keep tension on the parallels

Very nice, Happy New Year. I have a similar vice. Instead of bolting it to the work bench, I have four dowel rods fixed to the vice. These can be inserted into corresponding holes in the worktop. The holes are brass lined for a snug fit. If I need more desk space I pull the vice and hang it up. I have a small bench grinder the uses the same layout, so can swap them out as I need.
I have same style vise, it has slots in sides for clamping to a drill press or mill. All side are perpendicular. Handy vise for everything, never needed a stand. For handwork they are a bit chunky, same size clamp to desk ones work better. They work great if you need file perpendicular edge to a piece, chunky jaws act like perpendicular stop.
Everyone goes on about your hacksaw. Personally I actually don’t mind using one! I did my apprenticeship in the 70’s and have always used a hacksaw, not for everything as an angle is way too convenient, but the satisfaction of hacksawing a large piece….. ahhhhh!
Hey, about the jaws, think about making a pair from wood as well. For fragile parts, it would be perfect. You could also ask someone to 3d print some TPU ones... It's kind of a rubber... almost.
So I know why a bandsaw isn't in the cards for your shop, but what about a reciprocating saw? You can control the speed and use cutting fluid to greatly extend the life of the blades.
Hey happy new year. Just notice your getting close with the sand paper and fingers getting jammed and messed up on the rotating work piece which i don't want you to experience. Just use longer sand paper piece so your further from the work piece and if it grabs it will not draw you in. Great job and thinking like always with the project. What end mills do you use for steel, i am in Australia and this is just a hobby for me.
Thank you Sir, I do have a question where are you from, I’m from Oklahoma, USA, that’s why I talk funny. Seriously I do appreciate your videos, interesting machine work.
I am starting a Go Fund Me to raise some cash for this man. More Hacksaw blades and a BIGGER Hammer, that should satisfy the bandsaw whingers 😂 and with leftover funds we will get him a crooked straightedge to satisfy the straightness Police 😂 😂. Nice little vice mate have a good holiday and looking forward to plenty of Hacksaw Action next year 😜 😜
Gooooood, I can feel your anger, it gives you focus, makes you stronger, let the Hacksaw flow through you, comment your hatred, and take your place in The Algorithm.
You know everyone is doing a best-of for the year? I think you should do a supercut of just hacksawing off material.

Yeah! I’d watch 45 minutes of that. Or, better yet, do a "Yule log" video next winter!
I will never tire from seeing the fly cutter produce such lovely surface finishes
Your videos helped me through a difficult year. Something to look forward to each week. Thank you!

Every time i see you cut stuff with a hacksaw, i wonder if you'd take donations towards a small portable band saw :)
It is his comment generator for the algorithm
What? This is the “Trolling with a hacksaw” channel! 😂
The Artisan will not recognise your motion for a saw, take a seat young Commenter. - Mill Windu
Or to a pack of new blades.
He won't get a band saw. It takes too much space which he doesn't have. He said so in one video. Also comment generator as mentioned previously
8:03 ... I see what you did there, and I know why you did it!
That was a pretty sneaky clip, I enjoyed it immensely 😂
hmm...
you can explain it, I'm not that smart
I don’t see it either

That came out great! Of course, you'll need to make a planning head to angle your projects...

I made a similar vise for my bench and to fit into my six inch milling vise for machining small parts, yours looks very nicely made!
Until next year. Thanks for your videos this year!

Very nice little job especially as it's from spare materials. .
Happy new year and thanks for sharing.
I feel seen in this Episode, hammering it of and showing it flatness just for me. Thanks :D
Oh, you're the knob head?
i used to for cutinging off with a hack saw i installed a blade in backwards and would run the lathe and do cuts like that for better cutoffs
Thanks for all the videos, plenty of good watching and ideas for my own workshop. Have a great 2025! Les 🇬🇧

Nice build! You may end up wanting to make a pivoting base for both Horizontal and Vertical. Not a ball, but two pivots.
Damn you can take some *deep* passes on your machine tools considering their size.
thank you for the videos an knowledge you share bud👍
Nice
I like your videos as theyre very entertaining
Looking good. Speaking of, what happened to your lovely bench block that you resorted to a rusty piece of scrap for peening the pin and handle?
well done!
Nice Video, but please service the Headstockbearings or replace them. They rattle like a can of Screws.
Love the work....part of me wants to buy you a portable bandsaw....
Great job mate 👌🏻
Don’t mind the hacksaw hate, I’ve actually ended up using a hacksaw *more* after seeing you get through anything and everything with yours

i beg of you, please buy a bandsaw from harbor freight for $50!
This turned out really great, made with leftover bits.
See you next year. 👍💪✌
Why dont u buy a small metal cutting band saw?????? Make life easier . It like having a motorized lathe rather thans a bow and string to turn lol
