I was rocking my GTX 1070 until earlier this year, when I upgraded to the RTX 4070. That card was solid. I ended up giving it to a friend who was rocking an even older card. Hopefully he managed to fit it into his rig. Solid video dude

@@Varout04 Thanks man! I never actually had a 10 series back in the day. Timing and financially it just wasnt in the cards for me. I had to settle with a 1650 laptop.

@@psychogamerzofficial I'm sure it can. Do you know for a fact the GPU is the fault? Have you tested it with anothet system?

      First, Thanks for replying
no, i did not test it with any other system but I am pretty sure it's gpu's fault, cus my system is running with another gpu tho

@psychogamerzofficial To answer your original question, anything short of extreme physical damage to the PCB can be repaired. Even small cracks and broken traces can be repaired. The downside of your situation is it could be anything from a simple corrupted driver to a bad memory chip. If your CPU has integrated graphics, you can try plugging into that and then running DDU on the 1080 to reset the drivers. Thats a pretty common one. If your CPU doesn't, you could always use your other GPU for an image if your mobo has another PCIe slot. Amongst plenty of other things to try before taking it apart or looking towards paying for repairs. If you google GPU no image troubleshooting you should be able find tons of lists of things that wont hurt to try. The reason I would suggest DDU on the drivers first, is because driver issues seem to be most common from my experience. But there's nobody in the world that can accurately troubleshoot a PC 100% of the time. There's a billion things that can go wrong and its not always the same cause. Of course though, if youve already tried all the simple solutions, then it may be time to think about replacing it. A 1080 today is only worth about $100 USD, and i've never taken a card in for repair but I would imagine it would cost more than it's worth.

Sounds like it's crashing on you after it warms up a bit correct? If that is the case, it's normally a bad solder joint, and unfortunately it could even be the core. Sometimes as the solder balls heat up and cool down repeatedly over time, they can eventually lose contact with the core. But it could also be something as simple as a capacitor. 9/10 GPUs I've seen behave that way, was either a bad solder joint or a failed capacitor.

@@IDontKnowYou1216 thanks for the reply mate , well its abit complex a week ago it works fine played with it for a day next day the display went off , nothing is running in the background , now when i attempt to put in my mobo pcie slot , turn it on , no fans , no rgb lights at all , even if i didnt use it at all , just i install it next day and that happens many attempts , i honestly wonder why, is it completely broken , or something as simple as it is

@@animateit958 so yeah, either there's a bad solder joint, or a bad component. Unless you dropped it or had a power surge then there's no reason you would have any damaged traces. If you have a multimeter, some free time and the know how, then I would say it's definitely worth opening and seeing if you can find the fault. Otherwise, probably time to replace it. If it's not turning on at all, then I can guarantee this isn't fixable with software.

@@IDontKnowYou1216 thanks for ur help mate, so i guess i have many option i can try? some people say you can fix it with a technician , i can also believe that maybe it dropped , because i bought it 2 weeks ago used one tho , maybe the delivery drop or soemthing idk.and it happen literally when i install it first time , no fans only rgb light , than after many attemps of reseating it , it works for a days than no display , do you think i can open the back plate and check for any damage? even tho the card is very clean

@animateit958 Oh so you just got this. Did you buy through Ebay or some place with buyer protection? Usually you have some time to report it as defective and get a refund, even if the seller doesn't want to. It protects us from getting scammed with broken parts.... As far as physical damage during shipping, that's absolutely possible, and if it wasn't packed well and tight then I can almost guarantee it was damaged during shipping. We know shipping companies throw these boxes around like they're pillows. But if you're not able to return it, then there's no reason not to open it up and take a look. If it's already not working then you're not really risking much by opening it. Depending on where you live though, I probably wouldn't take it to a shop for repairs for a couple reasons. #1 because it's an older card, there's a good chance you'll end up paying more to fix it then it would cost to just buy another one. And #2 I would trust a repair shop with something simple like a screen replacement, but unless I knew them personally, I probably wouldn't trust them to diagnose a GPU circuit board. There's too many videos out there of people showing repair shops just making it worse, or way overcharging just to replace 1 capicitor
