  • In the context of his solo show BLISS, Tarek Lakhrissi invites two guests: Nayansaku Mufwankolo will read poems in the first act and in the second act, Joseph Schiano di Lombo will play piano during a reading session with the artist, using a methodology of improvisation, complicity and listening.
This session is a way to showcase raw texts, melodies, and emotions and to give space to 'processes' more than finished-works-ready-to-be-consumed. The power of music and poetry resonates to different themes of BLISS, giving space to pop culture references, queer voices and a sense of gathering.
Tarek Lakhrissi (lives and works in Paris) is a French artist and poet with a background in literature who explores socio-political narratives and speculative situations of transformation and magic through texts, films, installations and performances.
Nayansaku Mufwankolo is an artist, Lecturer in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory, and Delegate of Diversity and Inclusion at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD Genève). They also give workshop on intersectional violence and discriminations. Through poetry, their research is twofold and focuses on Afro-cosmic autofiction and on the the historical process of fictionalizing power structures.
Joseph Schiano di Lombo is a musician, visual artist and writer born in 1991 in Chambéry, France. He lives and works in Pantin, France. After training as a pianist and clarinettist at the Conservatoire (CRR) de Chambéry and the École normale de musique de Paris, he graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs de Paris in 2017 (printed image sector) with honors. Gliding freely from one category and medium to another, he deploys an art similar to the fugue, that musical form in which a network of independent voices creates harmony.
