Mountain biking the Great Glen Way

- When searching for routes across the breadth Scotland, the mind wanders to the far north - the wild and untamed areas of Scotland. Yet there are also ways to navigate the Highlands, and of them all, The Great Glen Way is perhaps the most famous.
Parts of the Way itself make for superb riding, yet what we wondered was could we take the Great Glen Way, add in a few kinks, twists and turns with the help of an OS map and get ourselves into some real terrain.
Former Crankworx Whip Off winner Neil Stewart and Brett Penfold joined us on this journey from the milder climes of Inverness on the east to the rugged, more unpredictable west coast and the town of Fort William.

Great video, recognised some places.....great video, great skills. I'll just need to get out and ride more. Thanks.
Great video :)
Brilliant
Great video, always enjoying seeing riding in the Scottish Highlands! What route did you take? I think I recognised The Mast to start and the CIC hut trail to finish? Not sure about 2:40 and 5:20, around Fort Augustus or Clunie?
Hi Bruce, that would be telling! But we weren't far from Fort Augustus, rode some of the GGW itself. 5.20 is the lower end of the CIC, 2.40 is a one where you'd need to ask Mark Clark but easily accessible and not as remote as you'd think :) An amazing descent as well!
Thanks for getting back. I guess half the fun is finding these trails haha! Was wondering as I'm based in Skye and like to get over to the mainland to ride these kind of walkers trails when I can. Will have to check some of these out! Cracking video!
