Liking the video and the enthusiasm Cav but there were a couple of factual errors made. Factory dry weight (ie no driver, no fuel etc) is 1495kg (not 1470kg as you quoted) - so your car is definitely already on diet (especially as you also have a full tank of fuel). Kerb weight on these is 1570kg. Factory quoted power is 338HP (343PS), however none of them make this power (even back in the day when they were new). The Z4M factory quoted power is 333HP which is due to a shorter exhaust system (perhaps this is where you are getting the 333HP number from?) For reference, an excellent S54 can make 330HP stock, however most tend to make around 320HP. Below 300HP is considered ‘poor’ on these. Not sure why yours only revved to 7,600rpm…it should rev to 8,000rpm, making peak power at 7,900rpm… Look forward to the next video (sorry for being a nerd, not 😋).
333hp were the US cars. The Euro cars were “supposed” to be 343bhp from factory. 🧐 Bonus point to Cal for mentioning the GTR had a V8. So annoying when folk claim “the e9x was the first/only V8 M3”
I don’t know what happened but just watch this and the first episode and I am absolutely loving this guy and the vibe. Man you got a new sub and a very anxious guy waiting for many more episodes on this car.
Great vid fella..only just come across your channel. Me and a couple of mates run the same kinda E43 M3 track cars!..thinking of swapping out my current German brand carbon airbox for a Karbonius or GSR..looking forward to seeing it on the car!
Happy to test the air box on mine if required. I also have an E92, just in case they accidentally send you any parts for that… interested to see the roof swap.. could be interested in one myself!! Keep em coming and good luck with the pie dodging
Who will you get to drive it round the ring? I always thought the csl time of 7:50 was bs tbh, you’ll do well to get close to that btg never mind full lap 👍
First vid I've seen of yours, subbed. So much old BMW content around at the moment, it's great. I went to pick up some parts from my local BMW this week for my E46 330d and I've never seen a showroom full of such bland cars. Looking forward to seeing what other projects you bring to the table!
Lol your car is lighter than the DIN weight of 1485kg these cars were quoted (and that was usually the lightest possible spec ie. slick top, manual seats, 18in rims and business CD radio with nav and harman kardon delete). A dynojet dyno measures power to the road, 329whp with about 17-15% transmission loss is 396-382bhp crank, in other words a healthy 60ish bhp above crank rated horsepower back in the day. The hiccup you mentioned is common when the car has off the shelf tunes, you need a proper custom dyno tune. For reference my car makes the same power with a CSL intake and full Supersprint V1 exhaust, with dual 63.5mm pipes throughout. I'm putting in Schricks soon and hope to see another bit of power. You're on the right path with Karb, love all their products. Good luck, I'll watch this space with gusto. Best car ever :D
As an E46 M3 owner anything M3 related on UA-cam I’m all over… subscribed
So glad you're back, Cav. Missed you!
Me too! Much love
looking forward to the next installment
Great video. Making me reconsider selling my humble 330Ci.
Your exhaust sounds great.

Do not apologise for educating me!!! This is all positive news. Thank you so much
329 HP is to the wheels and the 333 HP is measured at the engine so I would say you added power from a stock S54.
A lot more power than a stock s54.

Looking foward

Good to have you back Cav, looking forward to another build series. 😊

Mine stock (bar polybushes, twin rear calipers and powerflex camber arms) weighs 1521kg, manual, full tank, 18" wheels, satnav, 6cd changer, no sunroof, heated leather seats.
Love your wheels, what are they?
Apex Arc-8 bud, need them refurbing as looking a little worn on the barrels.
The best performance gain on an S54 is equal length rhd supersprint manifold.
This makes me want a 46 M3!
Now’s the time to buy my man
Watch out for rust as they fall apart
@@jameswilson8820 James has been listening to his grandad again
the 333hp from factory would be Crank/Flywheel they never post at the Wheels.
❤❤❤❤❤🎉
If 329hp is to the wheels you've added hp! 333hp from factory is to the crank
The first weighing couldve been 1469 if you washed the car 🙃
Always one 😂
Should be 338bhp uk stock not 333
I don’t know why nobody else has pointed this out 👍 AND why he doesn’t know in the first place!
At the crank not to the wheels, his running 329whp is a huge improvement. Stock E46 M3's normally around the 280whp.
@@northernjimboI apologies for not knowing every number and statistic of the car. I clean them not build them 😅
@@stjarnagloss apology accepted 😬👍
You could have cleaned it? 🤣
