When that first letter was being read a light bulb went off in my head when it a mentioned about not wanting the trilogy to end on a cliffhanger. That had me to thinking about the mention of I believe of JLC saying about how the film may pass people off. At one point I was pondering over how that could be and I think that could possibly be it! If you think about it the original was intended to be a standalone alone film ending on a cliffhanger where Michael disappears into the night after being shot out of the window by Dr. Loomis.
