I've never seen a basketball video with an idea like this...this channel is creating original content and not the same cookie-cutout "shooting tips and tricks" videos that I see countless times on UA-cam
J_k10 Exactly bro
J_k10 word 💯💯💯
J_k10 for sure, this is hands down the best basketball tips channel on youtube, cant wait for this channel to grow
J_k10 his style is even more effective than tips ,tutorial vids ..... deserves a million of subs imo...
very detail video
u think u know everything about basketball, and then u learn something new with this channel

true bruh
That's the beauty of this channel.
That's the beauty of basketball!
agree
yall sleep on the fact that instead of resorting to the commonly used voice over for videos, he gives us a potent combination of images and fire instrumentals with text, written in near perfect grammar. The lost art of reading is dying and this channel is giving it life. Good job bro
bob polo For real, thats exactly how I feel
I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not

I'm the "lose the ball" handles
Max Durk dead
These guys know the DETAILS of basketball that 99% of ball players don't even think about
If that were 100% true, then they would’ve shown some Isiah Lord Thomas III highlights for “tight” ball handlers, BUT they didn’t 👎🏻
@@joshnic6639 there’s a lot of people with tight handles bud. Just cause they didn’t mention him doesn’t mean they don’t know about him
@J B sorry kid he's the godfather of the "tight" handle. It's Zeke, Tim Hardaway and Kenny Anderson
True guards should know when to use any of these 7 types and how to expose people, although I will say every time I’ve dropped someone off an ankle breaker it’s been off shifty handles
Devon Friedman me its been on the loose handle cause they always try to cut you off
@@ChillyWi11 my man's went flying 18 feet from the AI cross lol
loose handles are so much fun
one thing i like about Durant is his handles
I am definitely a loose ball dribbler. It helps when you have long arms and are lanky
DeMarDeLeonard #Raptors #Spurs im 5'7 and i dont think i have long arms but i still dribble loose
I'm kinda small but long arms make me a loose ballhandler
dont confuse loose dribler with slow handles
DeMarDeLeonard #Raptors #Spurs Loose and shifty as i wanted to be like AI and Derrick rose
DeMarDeLeonard #Raptors #Spurs I'm mainly all of them except for defensive as I don't see the need to with all the other skill sets although during dribbling I have sudden outbursts of speed
I'm the pass first/Need a F---KING playmaker type
LeBeautiful this is not a point guard list

I'm so good at ball handling that I'm like an nba player.
I could be called shaq
Jacob S. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh neal😂😂😂. Yes i know it's o'neal
Ashton Frailey I know. People don’t know how elite ball handles every nba player is
Look at the video of Shaq and Kobe playing 1v1 in practice 🤣 or when he played against MJ before the ASG.
@@ygk6279 i saw the MJ one, that move was cold😬😂
I remember learning some of these traits back in high school, back in 2000 when Iverson was blowing up, it was the first time anyone had seen someone dribble the ball from outside what we all called "the box". We were always taught to keep the ball close so we could get to our shots or draw fouls easier. Our coach hated Allen Iverson's game lol Real old school guy, but can't complain when you're averaging 30ppg on crossover setups lol. It's really fun watching the NBA players take what was established in the past and made it more personalised within this current system. The way people are guarding these days allows for more ballhandling opportunities.
This channel is really evolving, I look forward to every video

In my experience, great ball handlers use all 7 for specific situation
Loose ball handler- good for when you are trying to get a shot off in iso he backs up shoot, he moves up take it to the rim. loose ball handling also give great rhythm for your shot. You really have to get your defender really out of position for it to work otherwise they usually recover fast which is why i prefer to pull up when using loose handles
Tight ball handler- good for when your trying to get a quick bucket or trying to draw in the defense and make a quick pass for an assist. You can also use this type of dribble to make double or triple moves. I also like to use a tight cross over when the defender attempts to steal alot
Shifty ball handler- good for lulling defenders to sleep( great for one on ones) . These moves are nice when the defender plays solid defense on you( not too much or too little space) because even the slightest movement out of position or freeze and you have them beat and its also good for beating the help defenders for a sneaky finish. Most elite gaurds use this style of ballhandling in the paint to get off lay ups
advanced momentum- good for when you sense the defender is off balance aka in transition, or if a help defender is coming up to close out. These moves are really hard to pull off simply because most players dont have a respectable shot. If you do have a good shot hit a couple shots in the game before utilizing these tactics. Also great to utilize these movements with head fakes
deceptive- honestly this isnt really its own style its just something to add to the other styles. This style goes best with the advanced momentum but also pretty well with shift. Its all about mastering your eyes. Nice to use when pass faking, pretending to use screens. The general principle with this is you want your defending thinking you'll do the expected. It takes high iq to not rush opportunities
Defensive- good for setting up plays and slowing down the pace of the game. If your always gunning youll just waste energy and make sloppy plays. This style allows you to make good plays, see open lanes, mismatches, cuts. It also forces the defense to gaurd you longer meaning more chance for them to get lazy and mess up.
deliberate ballhandling isnt really its own style either, its just saying read and react, this requires iq, good instincts and quick decision making, If you feel like all your moves get shut down or cut off it means your not paying attention to your defender.
Are you stupid? Name one player that “uses all 7”. Oh yeah, you’re talking random shit and there isn’t one.
Half a W V
Adam Muhammed . Excelent splitted up followed description. Very accurate.
Chris Legaspi . He's not saying someone is all 7, but he's saying the greats use some of each depending on the situation they're in. Allen Iverson was known for his loose handle but he does have highlights of a tight handle. If you watch Kyrie Irving if he is pulling up off the dribble he will use hang dribbles to get his jumper, a hesitation or different variation of loose handle. On a drive when you are blowing by defenders you will want to use the tight handle, use deceptive ball handling for situations such as the pick and roll which makes Chris Paul and Steve Nash so great. They know how to use their eyes. Different situations call for different types of moves. It's all basketball IQ. When I play at my high school I'm usually the type that goes downhill reads my defender's positioning, the type of defense the opposing team is playing and my floor spacing then I choose the most efficient way to get my team a bucket.
who else is a tight ball handler
Tight/shifty idk how I use both the most
Me
I can say I got a lil of everything🤔
Same, it’s just the time and place!
Oh and quick tip: The best move ever is the inside out crossover or killer crossover. I gets the defender Everytime and its quick/easy
jumper F22 never really did that that often. For me it's the little in between the leg setup that harden has made famous. If you time the burst of speed right, it's dangerous.
Agreed, and it's extremely simple so you can do it pretty much at any time
King Crawford You should start with your right hand and dribble between your legs but when it hits your left hand bounce it back. Basically like an inverted in between the legs. So right in between to the left but make it quick like a hesitation and proceed going right. Its a gamble move because the ball can be stripped but i think it will get your defender off guard especially if your coming down court execute then drive.
Have your left foot forward right foot back.
jumper F22 Or you can just right back left across the back with a pound dribble. This way you protect the ball with you body, looks pretty cool and gives you more options(like a step back, hesitation drive...)
This song is just fucking perfect. They're playing in rhythm to the music.
Lol_Chesh11 ikr
Appreciate all the thought that goes into these.
This idea is straight fire. Not only in basketball terms but also as a UA-cam Creator. It's crazy to see the shift with how slowly this channel has developed its content and then a huge change like this, with helping ball-handlers describing each style in detail and helping by making a broad generalization that actually works and even explaining how players can mesh them together.
All I can say is congrats man.
Waiting for the shifty ball-handler blog/video, especially with James Harden and how he utilizes his shiftiness with his hang dribble size ups and its variations.
And damn the tunes.
You know a channels good when you like before watching... keep this shit up
NEO so true
wow man this video is actually fantastic. you really broke this down to a science. you remind me of like a devin williams from 10000 hours, just instead of talking you have that trade mark text. I never really thought about how there could even be diff styles but this video opened my eyes and i learned alot! please keep em coming.
Ben Tofil ikr
As a student of the game, this channel provides so much detail than I could've ever imagine.
Without a doubt, this series helped my game the most out of all your videos
Probably the most underrated channel that I'm aware of.. you don't just get unique/creative/imaginative minds like this in the youtube basketball scene. Respect.
Haven't watched but IK it will
Be fire.
i can see myself in some of these ballhandling types in the past that i excelled at and ballhandling styles that i use now. this was really informative and changes my perspective in basketball and how i play it. i feel like im watching a video game secrets, tips and tricks video except for basketball. keep it up man
Much respect and applause to the owner of this page..I love every video you've made ..the way you break down the game in ways I haven't thought of before is incredible..I never knew that there were so many different type of ball handlers lol ..I never seen a channel like this before ..this knowledge definitely helped improve my game ..thank you
This is one of those rare basketball videos that has structure and is put together perfectly with extreme detail and perfect song choice and I know I will be coming back to this video all the time !
Excellent Job with the vid can't wait for the subscribers to start rolling in !

Gotta keep this up man👍really love ur in-depth analysis and ur understanding of the game, as well as providing accurate and efficient information for us to improve our game:) damn I thought I clicked into a 2k my player video for a sec lmao
I have seen 1000s of basketball analysis videos but this is on a whole another level. Props to you man, keep up the good work!
it goes so much deep in the details in the moves itself the players foundation of their game its a work of art KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
I think I’m a shifty loose dribbler bc I love changes of speed and direction but I have long arms
I'm the tragic bronzon type, except that I'm 6'3. In other words, I cant play Basketball
TRAGIC BRONSON ALERT TRAGIC BRONSON ALERT
I can not wait for you to go more in depth into those styles! Keep it up !
This is by far the best basketball channel. It's the attention to detail that improves your game combined with increased athleticism. Bravo
I'd rather be a steve nash, jason kidd, chris paul, jason williams type of ballhandler. That curry, kyrie look down the whole time slows the ball movement down. This is why lebron wants a true point guard. Someone who keeps their head up looking to pass and orchestrate the offense. A pass first point guard protects the ball and finds holes in the D
jumper F22 I don't think LeBron wants or needs a point guard that passes. That's his job and I don't think you understand that. LeBron is a Point Forward and Kyrie is a scoring guard
DeMarDeLeonard #Raptors #Spurs He said he wants a point guard. Probably so he won't have to run the offense 24/7. It can open up for other plays and schemes if they get a true point guard. Plus they need a backup PG. Matt left
jumper F22 There is a reason they work well together. It's because LeBron knows Kyrie is one of the best offensive players in the league so he should be the passer instead of scoring cause he doesn't need to. LBJ is all around and Kyrie is a scoring god
jumper F22 you're wrong. he needs a playmaker so when him and kyrie come off their lead won't take serious hits. someone who can handle the ball well and run the offense off the bench. no one off the bench can do that they are are all just shooters or slashes as opposed to golden state who has a personnel that can all dribble past and shoot. he's not knocking kyrie cuz he can run the offense as he has shown all his career. and about the "true point guard" stuff. Kyrie has always been a true point guard. if you watched him before lebron he was running the offense and getting assists. when lebron cam he had to adjust to lebrons point forward playstyle and became more of a score first guard
jumper F22 and when was the last time you saw kyrie loose the ball or get cookied? everything you are saying kyrie doesn't do is false lol but they need someone that can be similar to a kyrie or a Chris Paul coming off the bench for him and lebron
I'm not the one to handle balls per se but I for damn sure can say my girl is one of the best ball handlers out there. Her technique is superb and the amount of effort she puts in is phenomenal. She's definitely more careful with balls than the average player but that ain't a bad thing. Overall I'd give her a 👌🏾/10

I do not remember commenting this haha wth
youre doing a great service with these vids. thank you! a concept i think is important like this, would be creating space, make or miss you should always think about how much space you created/had. im sure youd make an amazing video about this. again thank you!
i just wanna thank you for this page and this video. now i can learn the different types of ball handlers and put the different styles into my game
Dude you are a genius keep it up
Best basketball channel I've seen so far . 😎🤙
this is one of the most enlightening basketball videos ive watched. cannot wait til you break each one down. im definitely a momentum handler but i wanna be that last one!
Earned a new sub. Love the creativity & knowledge put into these videos. Seems pretty focused on enlightening ball players on new things, or at least what may be new to them.
I'm an advance momentum handler but I'm also lanky and have loose ball dribbler traits
by any means I love you in the future your gonna have 1000000 subs
keep it up...this channel is the best informative basketball channel in the world, so underrated, for ball handling i think i am 2, and i need to work on reading the defender, since it will save me a lot of energy
Super awesome content man. This and so many of your other videos could hand I’m sure have helped many improve their overall game, and that is truly amazing! Keep it up!
And this content is free!
this is genius I'm going to study the game and learn I love this channel 💯💯🇱🇮🇹🇹🇾
i cant stop watching these videos dude, this channel is AMAZING! From the educational stuff to the music its absolutely magnificent! Easiest sub of my life!
thank you for this video , I know you worked very hard editing and finding the right clips and I appreciate it
I just do straight line drives
Rohan Prince your the last one the defensive ball handler i think
haha same. maybe thats defensive ball handler cos we just straight line drive when we see openings
Rohan Prince agree Fuck all that mix my defender I'm just using my body and getting to the paint
^yup and get fouled. its pretty annoying in pick up games tho, where they can just hack you to reset the play once you body them
I'm a tight shifty momentum dribbler. But anybody know the instrumental or song that's playing in the background
I'm more of a tight deceptive and defensive ball handler
This is so original and smart. And you're doing in-depth details too? I'm a fan
I think this channel has increased my knowledge 10 fold on basketball, at least in the area of fundamental handles and passing. It has really stepped up my knowledge on guard play at least. Do you have any revelations about post players? How they read defenders and how they use their strengths? I really would love to see more videos focusing on that part of the court as well.
If I could pick three to sum up my handles Tight,Shifty,Deceptive I can blow past my defender with less moves. But my IQ so high I know what to do next just by being a student of the game. I love this channel bro 👏 👍
Lol same here Tight/Shifty/ Deceptive. Had to be cause I grew up being the littlest guy on the court length and height wise. A lot taller now, but still not very lengthy.
Me too I mean I gotten taller but yeah I develop that handle to score quicker 💪
Kusanagi Sureshot Im not that shifty for example. I am a mix of a Tight, Deceptive and a defensive Ballhandler. Most of the time im looking in one direction and then I blow past them in the other direction.
if your "iq so high" then why is your grammar so low?
Jack Sparrow Thank You 😃 👏 #hater
I'm a deceptive ball handler
DatBoyFlash Same
DatBoyFlash yeah I'm too
This is the type of content I love to see, I'm subbing.
defensive/deliberate. Nothing but reactions until I get an opening and then a combination of ball fakes, euro steps, or post moves to get a shot off. love the contact
Deliberate just like my idol Kyrie Irving
Imma lose ball handler cos I keep losing the ball.
so detailed and informative!! I'm generally a deliberate ball handler with a lil mix of protective. of course I may use the other techniques here and there but those two r most used in my attack game
This one of the best basketball channels I've seen in a while, keep it up.
I'm shifty and momentum
and deceptive
and defensive
Nah I've seen you play you dribble like soulja boy
Basically you are the everything type
what type of ball-handler is westbrook
the one that waits to explode. cuz he can
Defensive
Momen Khan Mix of defensive and tight.
Dylan Hou
good call.
When going more in depth to each category I think it'd be really cool to show how best to defend each type of handler
This is great. Always remember to look at your defender when doing a move, rather then focusing on the move itself
I'm more of a derrick rose ball handler tbh
[deleted]
He's kinda like a mix between a shifter and a defensive ball handler
Lavarr TM crazy he wasn't even in this vid drose got moves for days
yep.. drose is the type of waiting and play it slow then.. boom explode and attack the rim while taking contact
サツッピミク not anymore
im a shitty ballhandler
lmao
Who ever runs this channel, whether it is one person or a group of people, know that you hold a special place in my heart. I love you.
✊❤️
all in all this video is A1 by all standards, content is very detailed to a T and the whole Ora of it just feel natural. Great video
Everyone keeps calling me a dribbling center because I’m 6’5😭😭
tight and shifty ballhandler is the best combo and the most simple one. Advance momentum is also a good addition for it ☺️
this channel.. hip hop music.. original and entertaining content that teaches you about basketball.. keep this up
I have a tight dribble, and use mainly momentum and deceptive tactics. I like to do this hesitation move where I use a burst of speed, plant a leg way out, hesitantly hop back, look as I’m about to pass or shoot, and use a left right dribble or in and out dribble to drive to the rim. This or a simple hop killer crossover to another fast behind the back to get the defender to absolutely commit one way and then shift momentum.
Amazing breakdown. I'm a loose ball handler but wish i could be a deliberate one!
this is a fantastic video. i used to think ballhandlers were just grouped into either 1) loose (ie and1, jamal crawford, iverson) or 2) tight (tim hardaway, pistons' isiah thomas). you really broke it down.
Very good work on this one!
Loved the video. I myself am definitely a loose ball handler, and not a very good one at that. But I like how in the video how Steph Currys dribbling is greatly helped by his skill set, and how since he can pull up from just about anywhere inside half court, his defender have almost always put themselves in a defensive postion that makes it awkward to guard him.
Another great video by this channel, informative, comprehensive and fantastic music selection!
great breakdown!!
i am mostly a loose ball handler, alittle bit of a tight ball handler, alittle bit of a deceptive ball handler, and mostly a shifty defender. I use alot of deliberate ball handler to attack and be more efficient.
Great work, as usual ✊🏼
i'm a loose ball-handler for sure, it's mainly due to my longer arms, they really help on hesitation dribbles, it makes them tougher to get to. but i'd like to incorporate more momentum based handle into my game as well.
best basketball youtube account by far. getting better everyday watching these videos
Grew up watching street ball AND1 style dribbling and definitely developed a loose dribble style because of it, but was recently thinking about the different styles and hoe to incorporate them, especially the defensive and tight handles, but this was great to help me think about the sub skills of dribbling
I feel like most people fall into more than one of these categories, but I'd definitely be a loose ball handler, a advanced momentum ball handler, and a deliberate ball handler... really helps having a combination of long limbs and speed 😊
Bro your videos and channel is on point. Subscribed !
This is what we need , i thought i know everything about ball handling but this video just proved me wrong , we need more content like this , btw im more to the shifty ball handler
These videos are so informative. Keep up the good work
This video will definitely help be become a better ball handler , the ability to read the defender really helps.I could always get by people , but reading the defense will make it easier , Thx!
I relied heavily on my speed and never looked at it like this
