Thank you for making it easy! My PA county (montco) has ignored my multiple emails and calls to schedule a video for licenses. They do not have the setup you have. I will be submitting tonight for my wedding next month.
@Bucks Register We both live in NJ but with so much backlog and disorganization in our respective counties, I did some research and found that you are doing this seamless process and have decided to switch up our plans to get married in PA. If applying for a marriage license in Bucks County through the video process, does the ceremony then have to be officiated in Bucks County or can it be any county in PA? Thanks in advance for your help!
Neither version has the marriage happen over the call. the call is just the signing of the application to received a marriage license. Once we receive back the application after the call, we send you the license to have your ceremony. It is up to you from there on to have your ceremony and have the license signed by an officiant or two witnesses. The entire process is the same for self-uniting and traditional, the only difference is who you have signing the license the day of your ceremony. Hope this helps!
this is really helpful I am a little struggling with this application in Montgomery county, Can I apply this in Bucks county even though i dont live in bucks county? and what if my fiance doesn t have SSN yet? i can t apply?
You can apply in Bucks County as long as the marriage takes place in Pennsylvania. You do NOT need to be married in Bucks, NOR be a resident. You do not need a social security number if you do not have one, you can just enter zeros. Feel free to email emarriage@buckscounty.org with any questions. Best wishes!
My brother got ordained to officiate my marriage next month. He received his credentials of ministry certificate recently. Will he have to submit proof of his credentials and if so, when would he do that?
The video call is just a step in the application process. We watch you sign a copy of your application on the video call. You mail that signed application into our office, and we will mail you the marriage license. It is then up to the couple to coordinate their marriage ceremony. You record the details of the ceremony on the marriage license, return that to our office, we record the information, and send you the legal marriage certificate.
@@bucksregister274 how far in advance do we need to submit the application for the marriage license? How much time should we ensure we allow to make sure it comes to us in time?
@@lryhc thank you. I was trying to make sure I'd have enough time to have it processed lol We applied online and did the zoom call to sign it already. So we're all set! Thank you 😊

The ceremony can take place anywhere in Pennsylvania! We're happy to help.
Great, thank you!
If self uniting, do you have to make an appointment to come in person or is the marriage done over the call too?

Will we be able to do the justice of the peace, or is that shut down right now?

buttafliegurl712 , There’s a 3 day waiting period and you have 60 days before the license expires. I hope this answers your question
