While Lost in Space fans are certainly glad that the series continues to live on in new ways, nothing quite beats revisiting the original! Part of the charm of the original series was its awesome cast, which consisted of many seasoned television veterans, as well as a few enthusiastic child stars. Amongst the cast were Guy Williams and June Lockhart, both of whom had previously held long-standing roles on major television series during the 1950s.
Prior to Lost in Space, the public knew Guy Williams for his role as the titular lead on the 1957 Disney series Zorro. Meanwhile, the public knew June Lockhart as the woman who played Timmy’s mom on the series Lassie. Other Lost in Space stars that we’ll be taking a look at includes Angela Cartwright and Bill Mumy, who were the youngest two members of the show’s cast. Join Facts Verse as we take a look at the Lost in Space cast then and now.

Penny Robinson was my favorite on Lost In Space. I was 8 or 9 years old when Lost In Space first aired. I had a huge crush on Angela Cartwright aka Penny Robinson. A boy in my third grade class received a Lost In Space Robot for his birthday. After hearing how wonderful it was, I wanted one for Christmas. He told us the Robot can help us with our homework. I believed him. I never received a Lost In Space Robot for Christmas.

Great show back in the sixties from Danger Danger will Robinson the B-9 Robot to Dr zachary smith the family Robinson was Iconic. In other videos the focus came on will and the robot but the cast all had a time in front of the camera the toys made say it all. The B9 Robot alone made the most$$$. The actor in the ROBOT in the early 80's that was playing the robot was unvailed .. Loved them all. The robots color silver wasnt allowed on the first robot toy it was sold blue because of the copy rights. Then After the 90's the color was turned to the original silver. Bobby the other robot that was in the Later series was sold as a set. These toys are making tons of money today .Many collectors are to this day are getting 1000 times thier value. On them .

He was always such a good male role model! His only flaw was letting Will hang out with Smith too much! After the “Invaders From the 5th Dimension”, I would never let him near my kid again! THAT was the moment they could have gotten rid of Smith! The Invaders could have said, “We can’t use Will, so we will just have to use Smith instead”!
Let’s be honest though, the show would not have been as good without Smith, since he was the ultimate interesting antagonist! I loved the Robinson’s, but it would have been a rather bland show without Smith’s hijinks and shenanigans!! It created a great balance to the show, (although I agree, it took over the show at times, and allowed no development for the rest of the cast)!!

Below, from the New York Post, Dec 28, 2018...
Mumy was in three “Twilight Zone” episodes - most memorably in 1961’s “It’s a Good Life” as the thought-reading demon seed Anthony Fremont.

I never got to see the show in color since we didn't get our first color tv until much later. One of my favorite shows at that time even over Star Trek at that time because of my age. I picked up the DVD set of all 3 season's when it was first released many years ago. I tried watching it once but I wasn't as into it as I thought I would be. I started watching the entire series again (all 3 seasons) and so far, I really enjoy it because I of the nostalgia and the memories it brings back. I had a crush on Penny just like all the other fellas did at that time.

I knew June Lockhart was a doctor on _Petticoat Junction._ I really loved _Lost In Space_ as a kid in the 60s. I made my own Jupiter 2 by gluing paper plates together. I would run around the house like an annoying little kid making my own flying saucer sound effects. "Be-beep-bop-bop-bee-boo Look OUT! Here comes Jupiter 2 crash landing into another freaky planet!"
Did you ever notice how the Jupiter 2 was so much bigger inside than it looked from the outside? They never showed the whole flying saucer on the ground. Just that one area by the front hatch. If you looked at the curve of the saucer it was obvious that the ship was not very big.

There were a couple stock shots of what was supposed to be the whole ship embedded in the ground, but none of these mock-ups was very convincing; just way too small, but it was tv, and the sets and interiors were very expensive as it was.
