    🦷 DESCRIPTION OF VIDEO 🦷
In a 2 stage dental implant placement situation the dental implant is placed and a cover screw is placed on top of it. the gum tissue is placed over it and the implant is not seen. After a few months the implant is exposed and a healing cap is then placed on the implant and the tissue allowed to heal around it. The advantage of the two stage treatment is that there is less chance of infection and implant failure. The disadvantage is that it takes longer for the treatment and involves two surgeries as opposed to one.

I had my first implant. It takes awhile and is not inexpensive. I am glad I had that done as opposed to a bridge where the adjacent teeth are filed and capped to support the bridge. I've already had a few crowns so it doesn't look any different than my other teeth.

    • @alfredeneuman6966

@@BH-ix7nq For me the procedure took about 9 months. The initial phase was removing the damaged tooth with an oral surgeon, which i did under sedation with an anesthetist (I was asleep). The surgeon "seeded" the hole with material that would help grow bone. You do wait a number of months for the new bone to grow. After that I had an appointment to see if the bone had grown. It had, so my next procedure was scheduled and that was the titanium implant that acts as the tooth root. That also has to set into the bone, so there is another wait there and then another scan done. That looked good, so I got the abutment and the mold for the crown. Some offices make the crown, but mine did not, so after a short wait that came in and the crown was placed over the abutment which holds the crown and is inserted into the implant. A small screw goes through the crown into the abutment and that is filled with a white filling. The crown is reshaped to fit your bite as usual. I don't have any discomfort with the implant and the crown is basically like my other crowns. I'm happy that my smile does not have missing teeth. Over the years I've had a fair amount of dental work, braces, fillings, crowns, an implant, and one root canal.

Just got my first (and hopefully only) implant crown put on. It was my top right side, fourth tooth from from the middle. Doesn’t hurt but it’s definitely not comfortable. When I eat, I feel like either the crown tooth or the tooth in front of it is gunna just fall apart. It’s been 4 days and it still feels the same. I am afraid the year and a half I went with that missing tooth caused the other to wiggle back and forth when I ate. Now when I eat, it feels like it wants to wiggle side to side because it can no longer go back and forth while there was a hole in my head, but the pressure is massive. I really hope this will go away.

La fase chirurgica prevede più momenti
    distanziati nel tempo secondo protocolli
    stabiliti. Per l’inserimento dell’impian-
to dopo la preparazione di un lembo si
    prepara l’alloggiamento implantare che
deve risultare preciso per permettere la
    stabilità primaria dell’impianto e lasciare
il minor spazio possibile per facilitare la
    rigenerazione ossea perimplantare. Suc-
    cessivamente l’impianto è posizionato e
    coperto con la mucosa.
La protesizzazione seguirà dopo un con-
    gruo periodo di osteointegrazione im-
    plantare con corone protesiche avvitate
    o cementate agli impianti.
    Malattie intercorrenti locali (parodonto-
patie) e assenza di igiene orale possono
    causare il fallimento implanto-protesico.
Per tali motivi il paziente deve essere
edotto sulla necessità di richiami e con-
    trolli periodici.
    Numerosi articoli in letteratura registra-
    no, per impianti cilindrici osteointegrati,
percentuali di successo del 90-95% nel
mascellare superiore e del 95-98% nella
mandibola per un periodo di osservazio-
ne di 5-10 anni. Le casistiche riportate in
    letteratura rappresentano percentuali
    sinusiti mascellari.
Nel caso di specie in seguito all’interven-
to implantare eseguito dal dott. XX il
sig. XX ha manifestato una lesione neu-
rologia nel nervo alveolare inferiore di
destra. La lesione è stata causata da una
errata e/o eccessiva profondità di lavoro e
può essere stata provocata da sezione di-
retta del nervo con frese rotanti durante
    la preparazione della sede dell’impianto
o da compressione e stiramenti causati
    dall’alloggiamento contiguo al canale
    mandibolare dell’impianto posizionato
in zona 4.8. La sintomatologia derivata
infatti si è manifestata con la parestesia
    dell’emilabbro inferiore di destra.
    Tale condotta sostanzia una situazione
di negligente e imperita terapia, inescu-
sabile per quanto riguarda il profilo di
colpa, a cui consegue, per quanto riguar-
da il risarcimento, la seguente quantifi-
    cazione

my mom is 74 years old. got a MAJOR heart condition. copd, pace maker, and smokes a pack a day. NEVER took care of her teeth. from what i understand she isnt even suited to be a patient in the first place. went to local dentists for upper and lower implants and was turned down by all dentists due to all the above. someone told her to go to the college dental school in lexington so she did. and they accepted her immediately. its funny that they took her and her money paid in full. its been almost 2 years now and no implants as of yet. 6 trips so far for teeth pulling and then false teeth currently that is packed around in her pocket or purse and hasnt been cleaned one single time. at first they told her she could have only the bottoms done that the students dont have time to do both upper and lower in a few months. then they told her they were back doing both. so my question is why would the school take her when noone else would? shes 74 and clearly doesnt make the best decisions with money. she thinks they just put them in and then thats it no brushing no flossing no nothing is what she tells people. they just want money and some one to hack up and practice on and thats it they are FULLY AWARE shes not a candidate. yet they took her no questions ask. and it was supposed to be done by august this year. run around run around run around while we leave an 86 year old husband with an elderly sitter to be gone hours and hours on end and still no explanation as to why they accepted her in the first place. shady shady things going on AND I WANT ANSWERS!!

Can you provide lifetime guarantee that a dental implant would not loose or fall out given regular sufficient dental care. ?That is more important, why would one spent extravagantly on dental implant which is a ticking time bomb, which would be infected by the man-made disease known as peri-implantitis. And on the other hand, RCT treated tooth can fail too if the tooth crack or getting reinfected. So why are dental despite having so many years of prior clinical experience unable to treat a patient teeth well enough that it can last a lifetime.

@Sara kadi While I agree your view to a certain extent. Yes. It is the individual's responsibilities to maintain good oral hygiene to ensure the long-lasting success of their teeth. But won't you agree dentist needs to be responsible if they made a wrong decision due to an error (surgical error missed canal not filled sufficiently etc) or judgement. Let's be rational and logical with the debate, I would say a botched treatment is one that they must be held answerable for.

Some people have very poor enamel. Even a poorly made implant would last longer than real teeth for such people and almost always costs less than paying a dentist twice a year for the rest of your life.

Yes, I could not move from my chair when they finished the surgery and then asked me to move. They got so scared that they rang the boss, who turned up at about 7 pm and stood looking worried among them. I maybe moved an hour later. Then next morning after an excellent sleep, I was as if I didn't even have any surgery, just swollen gums.

    • @odissey2
      @odissey2 2 роки тому

@@chesterkane9394 yes. Half of that amount goes for removal of the tooth and grafting, and another half for new tooth (6mo) later. Typically, dental office discloses the cost of only first procedure, and they tend to tell a minimal cost (say $1900), while actual cost depends on complexity of the procedure and usually hogher ($2500).. It is better to split procedure into next year so that some payments (a crown) can be absorbed by the insurance if such limits apply (e. g. one crown per year)
